I'm pretty sure Kiryu hasn't really lost a single fight from Yakuza 0 to LAD. Saejima was the only one who pushed him to a tie in 5. You can also win the first fight with Majima in Kiwami, so I wouldn't count that as a confirmed/canon loss.

I think Kiryu just being "Ex-Tojo Clan Fourth Chairman" as well as how he uses like 1/10th of his moveset is a great indicator of how much he's holding back. I think one day, be it in the next game or 5 games from now, Ichiban will fight Kiryu with the dynamic intro "Kazuma Kiryu, The Dragon of Dojima" when he's finally able to fight Kriyu as an equal.

Kiryu could have destroyed them all easily, the way he effortlessly took that punch to the head without batting an eye confirms it. Kasuga's got a long way to go but I think he'll end up matching Kiryu in terms of strength. Kiryu is basically a raid boss.
For real, I don't think I have ever seen something that screams "power" more than Kiryu blocking a punch with his forehead (from Ichiban which isn't exactly a pushover) and not moving a single millimeter.

@Plain Water Fair. Real talk, Ichiban is pretty strong but it's clear they want to build him up instead of pretty much making him instantly a strong badass with a background like Kiryu. Guess him losing half his health from a Komai Knockback is part of that.
Based on the stance when he took the punch, he probably went beast mode within the 1 second time frame and blocked with the resist guard. Resist Guard allows you tank anything including stabs, stun guns, explosions, and gunshots, but you still would take damage but less damage than it should've done. Though since this was a basic punch it probably did like 1 damage
