No, the new D6 engines are built by Deutz in Germany for Volvo Penta. The engine used in the FL6 trucks were I believe the Volvo TD61 block which Volvo Penta marketed as the TAMD61 and latterly the TAMD63. They were the same base block and crank but different pistons and liners, fuel pump, turbo etc.
