My 2 cents give the blanket as the person moves into their new place. So many reasons but after going through all the hub bub and emotions of moving, losing so much independence etc they can snuggle with warm thoughts of the gift from someone and rest. Also check out the video Juan the yarn addict puts granny squares together. Nina's knots Crochet does Boggy blankets and said the way Juan shows is fast. Kimberly you are going to be so overwhelmed with granny squares!
Love, love the sweater you made for your friend and love the blanket you’re going to make for her. I like it so much, I may purchase it for myself. With the Happy Place yarn you can make a coat of many colors or a shawl…how about a sweater?
Your happy place yarn could be perfect for a Mandala-style blanket like the one sitting on the chair behind you! Your Welcome Home project is an amazing idea, and I'm hoping to contribute soon, but with 4 current WIPS I need to take care of one or two of those before working on some granny squares, lol. My biggest WIP is a dress I'm making from Truboo (3x skeins seafoam, 8x skeins marigold which I believe was a mis-dye), which is gonna be fairly heavy and possibly not the best yarn choice for such a large project, but its so soft and looks stunning so far, so I still intend to see it through.
Yes I love the blanket idea!! I think that's a winner! Oh and I've used Truboo, that is a beautiful yarn, but heavy, you're right. I'd love to see the finished piece of art!! XX Kim
Love the cardigan you make for your friend. I have just finished a baby blanket using the same stitch, doing two rows white and two rows pink. The spike stitch is so pretty and your yarn is stunning. I am so thrilled to see the support you are getting for the granny squares. I would be very happy to contribute, I just need to find out about the cost of posting to you. Where can I find your address? You mentioned San Diego so I can just ask at the P.O. I love TL and I love her yarn too, just too expensive for me. I find wool very costly and everything I make I use all the yarn so I can never seem to build a yarn stash. Maybe if I win the lottery🤣🤣 It sounds like you have a busy holiday ahead, the only place you are not visiting is Wales😓. I love watching your channel and thank you so much for all that you do for the crochet community. No idea what you can make with so many balls of yarn and colours, a mandala blanket? I think you have her entire colourway there!, 😊
Thank you! You can send the granny squares (if you want) to: Kimberly with Knit for Brains 9984 Scripps Ranch Blvd., PMB#169 San Diego, CA 92131 **We would love to spend some time in Wales...we are just skirting the outside...stopping to visit friends in Liverpool. Maybe just maybe we can pop in on our way to the Cotswolds. :) XX Kim
@@Kimberly_Knit4Brains wow it sounds like such a great holiday you have planned. I really do pray that wherever you go the sunshine will follow you!l i am determined to make some for this awesome charity. I worked for a general surgeon for a few years and it was heartbreaking the number of patients we had every week. My surgeon hated it and I took care of dressings and drain’s for them and it gave me a chance to explain what was happening with their bodies and next steps. Very difficult season in my life with the age and number of cancers in patients at an all time high. Thanks for the chat 😊
Hello!! I am waiting for 2 skeins of the Fables yarn to show up in my mailbox and I'll be doing a tutorial on the bag I made. I was inspired by this pattern www.premieryarns.com/products/fable-tote
Ooh, I love the colors of Happy Place yarn! I would make a colorful crochet cardigan or sweater. @zeensandroger and @beautifulcrochetstuff have several patterns that call for DK yarn. I’m currently making a hexagon flower cardigan and I’m thinking of making it in multiple colors although I really should make it in a solid because it’s more practical. But multicolored projects are just more fun to make and wear.
Great idea!! You will never hear me say "NO" any colorful project! I am all about color!! And thank you Kalen for the suggestions...I will definitely check them out! ;) XX Kim
❤ the yarn from Toni. Colors are perfect for any project-A continuous granny blanket or beachy theme blanket would me amazing! ❤
Oh that'll be a great idea and a perfect material for a big outdoorcblanket!!
❤

Luv the bag you got. And the granny squares are beautiful, I would suggest a blanket for the happy place yarn .

Do you have a pug? I see your wall art.
That was Molly girl... my love. She passed in November...she was 16!! I miss her so much! Her mate Finn passed when he was 12.
