You are correct. I was not there in the 60s. However I also am not one of the people that think everything was better when I was growing up back in the days and everything today sucks. Yes there are something’s that perhaps I liked more in the past but having beer can island as a place for people to gather, and have a good time isn’t a negative in my book. And I’m assuming you’re using Jetski as an insult which I take no offense to. I have seen all types of watercraft’s from Jetskis to small and large boats be complete morons on the water so I don’t categorize anyone. That’s pretty much it for me. Hope you enjoy your time out on the water and stay safe.

Since 1964 I have gone to Beercan, but now it's some kind of destination for partying and drinking, Just goes to show it will never be the quite little island we local boater use to enjoy the peace and quite just hearing the water lap against the shore.
Although that can be, you make sure and take precautions, ride safe, and keep your head on a swivel. I haven’t had any issues on large rides both water and pavement. They can be amazing experiences if you do that.

What was once a great place to go and just relax and enjoy the water, is now turning into some kind of party place for people .
It still is. Although there are occasional moments when large gatherings happen, most days it’s a quiet place to hang out and enjoy the water.
