Trying to Eat Mira Sushi’s “100 Pieces” of Sushi Rolls Challenge in Chicago by Myself!!

- American pro eater Randy Santel an professional competitive bodybuilder Mike Sell, each versus Mira Sushi's "100 Pieces" of Japanese Sushi Rolls Team Challenge, each solo by themselves, during the month of May, in honor of it being Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, at Mira Sushi Restaurant located in the Chinatown area of Chicago, Illinois!! After attempting the 200 oz Prime Rib Steak Challenge at Ward's House of Prime in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I packed up the rest of my stuff at the Milwaukee house and headed towards my family's house in the St Louis, Missouri area. On my way, I stopped in Chicago, Illinois at Mira Sushi Japanese Restaurant which is located in the Chinatown area of Chicago. I met up with my professional competitive bodybuilder friend Mike Sell and we each attempted Mira Sushi's "100 Pieces" of Sushi Rolls Challenge which is only available during the month of May, in honor of it being Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The challenge is actually meant to be a team food challenge, where two people have just 30 minutes to feast on 10 sushi rolls of their choosing, broken up into 100 pieces. Mike and I tried to become the first two individuals to finish the "100 Pieces" Japanese Sushi Challenge, each solo all by ourselves. We each chose the 10 sushi rolls we wanted from their menu, and had 30 minutes to finish everything. Winners get the $40 sushi meal free plus a spot on Mira Sushi's Wall of Fame. No sweet t-shirts, unfortunately. BIG thanks to everyone with Mira Sushi Restaurant for the wonderful Japanese food, drinks, and hospitality!! Special thanks also to all our amazing friends who came up that Saturday afternoon to watch and meet us!! We appreciate everyone in the Chicago, IL area and all around Illinois who watches videos and supports our hard efforts!! Randy, you guys actually got 82 pieces, not 100!
You would have done it anyways, but calculate what you've received ..
Each roll has 8 pieces, not 10!
Only the one presented flat have 10 pieces, the other 9 have 8.
9x8 is 72 plus the 10 makes 82!
So unless the picture shown of the plate is different than what you got, that's 82.
Remember to consider this if you go to another 100 pieces that would happen to have 100! 😁
I think these last 18 don't go down as well as the first 18 ones!

@@RandySantel Where I live it is darn hard to get good sushi and that SUCKS because I love good sushi,,, if you did find it that much sushi would be no less than $100 more like $125 I'd bet or maybe even more, I spend like $50 to $65 when I do go for sushi around here and it isn't a third of what that is you guys each have there

I just want to say how impressed I am with Randy. Even tho Mike beat him, he was really happy for him. I have seen videos of other eaters with a partner who would be very angry if they didn't finish 1st. I have even seen eaters slow down on purpose & then come in 2nd even tho we all know they could have come in 1st. I know of 2 professional eaters that do this all the time. Can't mention names. Randy is very gracious

Of all the challenges I’ve watched Randy do, this is the only one I think I’d even have a chance at (with a partner)
This may well be the only challenge Randy has done that I would legitimately have a chance at completing.
$40 is an incredible deal! Sushi in my area (southern US) is crazy expensive, for $40 you would get about 3 rolls (5pc per roll) and definitely not "specialty" rolls. Awesome job!
Mine too! I love it but it's so crazy expensive I rarely get it. When I do I get one roll and that's around $15.

I have probably eaten over 100 pieces @ 10 pieces per roll at other establishments-- and it definately was "AYCE"-level quality. I'd probably have a difficult time finishing 100 quality pieces-- I'd instinctively want to savor each bite. Definitely need to take this challenge on!
I usually don't like raw fish. It is tough for me to eat. But I love avocado sushi rolls. Either way, show Randy his respect. The dude is a beast. Great presentation as always !

Wow. So glad Chicago has these food challenges. I love AYCE sushi. The most I've eaten in a sitting was 30 rolls. Did it to avoid paying a dollar for each piece I took home. I was stuffed.😅

ridiculous amount of sushi,all that rice would sit in my stomach like a brick and I'd be full for days lol. I couldnt even tackle 1/4 of that. Great job to both of ya! :)
I don’t think I can do many of your challenges but I feel I could give this one a run for its money. I have done 8 rolls at an all you can eat but there is a delay in getting rolls so you get the full signal faster waiting.

Wow, $40 for 10 rolls of sushi is a dream price. At our local place they are about $6-$18 per roll. The cheapest is just cucumber or just Avocado.
That's one challenge I think I would stand a chance.

$40 for all that is an INSANE deal. I would pay just to take the rest home. Typical sushi places have a $35ish deluxe combo usually that's like 1/5th of that
