Ryobi needs to market a way to charge the 18 volt batteries by solar power
@@CapitanDart the comment was RYOBI needs to market a way to charge the 18 volt batteries by solar power. I did not mean via solar panels on a home. Portable solar panel (s) that could be used camping or working was my thought. Sorry for any confusion
I’m don’t have much knowledge with solar panels and their hook ups but i was thinking using a small solar panel and connecting directly to the USB C with a solar type brick. Making it a “portable “ solar charger but I’ll keep on learning. It’s just an idea I’ve had if they ever made an inverter that has a way to charge its own batteries.
Oh yeah, just like the 150watt inverter with USB C charger. Same idea but smaller.
@@bobjohnson1604 Neither I or the image in the description saying it is solar compatible said anything about it being solar panels on a home. It is pointing towards the USB-C port and says "solar compatible". The confusion seems to be on your end. Most portable solar controllers these days have a way to output to USB.
@@antonioreyes421 What you described is exactly how this would work.
Let me know when you have solar panel inputs
We have used the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
When you can hook solar to it then you will have something.
Are there no USB-C solar panels?
@@TheCharleseyethere are.
@@blueceligts180where can I fino those?
You definitely can.
It’s an inverter you could put solar panels to it
They should have demonstrated how it can charge via solar. But I suspect they don't want to do that because it would require a third party panel. Ryobi has been incredibly slow in transitioning to solar. They've had 14w and 21w portable solar panels on their site for years with a "Coming Soon" tag. This product could have been hyped considerably more if they had introduced it simultaneous to let's say a Ryobi 75w panel.
Granted, the 60w input would take a heck of a long time in that setup. I use the 150w inverter with 30w solar input. It typically requires a couple of hours to fully charge an 18v battery from empty.
I use a 100 watt foldable solar panels when I charge my batteries on the 150 watt inverter/charger and it works really good cause my solar panels have a built-in charge control that helps
You do have a good point on what you said I agree 👍
Slow is an understatement. The 40V should have been equipped with solar charging day 1.
Your wish came true, but 60 watts.
It would really be nice to see them at the store by Hurricane Season not Summer 😊
I didn’t catch if you talked about it, does it have pass thru charging so you can use it while charging?
Once the price comes down I will be getting that for sure hopefully I can use solar panels to charge it too just like the 150 watt inverter and/ charger
Ryobi needs to release a 12 amp hour battery to power these new tools!
Agree - we severly lack a 12 Ah battery for the One+ system.
They just did
Announced them recently.
You ask, and you shall receive! RYOBI recently announced an 8 Ah and 12 Ah battery
@@RSEngineer23 yep but I wish they were on the Markey now
I want it!!!! Now I’m going to need a good solar charger for the 6port supercharger, free energy is life!!!
I hope Ryobi updates their litter inverters that take a single drill battery. Not only are they not pure sine I would like to see a little fan too.
This would be the perfect portable power station for RVers on the go. Keep Starlink running or power other devices. This is a great idea!
I like it, if only Tools like this were compatible with all tti batteries, that would sell me on it and spread ryobis innovation across the whole tool family
I see all kinds of adapters from every type batteries to Ryobi. It's easy to adapt them to Ryobi but hard to go the other way because of the post Ryobi has on their batteries.
@@dondiego124Yep, inverters are the way to go.
I was so excited for this, it would literally be the perfect unit if it had solar input, because it does not, I will not be purchasing it. Hopefully the next model years to come will have solar input.
When’s the release date?
The only thing I don't see, is there a 120V plug to plug it into the wall. Passthrough charging?
It comes with an adapter, looks similar to the one that came with my 150W Charging Inverter, so looks like 120V AC input, 30W USB-C output and 15W (I believe) USB A output
Hope to see soon in Canada!
I need a release date and price for this baby! Been having serious power outages and living in an apartment this would be ideal for the current situation.
At first I wasn’t convinced because of the price for the unit by itself. Was in the middle of crafting a small DIY inverter using the Ryobi batteries. Now that he mentioned about it charging the batteries and not losing power when removing a battery. I think it’s worth the price. Welp… gotta start saving. Im still waiting if they mention about mixing batteries (HP with regulars and different amp hrs) because I’m barely on my first steps with Ryobi and don’t have many batteries.
how much dose it cost?
I’ve heard the price would be around $800 usd for the unit by itself and $1000 usd with batteries. Don’t take my word since its not confirmed.
@@antonioreyes421 thanks
If I get this 18v version and have the 40v version will I be able to run them together in parallel? Assuming yes, since the output wattage is the same.
I freaking love ryobi
Please make a vacuum mulcher that can sit over the top of a trashcan so that we can use this to collect leaves using either the 18+ or 40v.
I will be buying this day1.
I have so many ryobi 4ah batteries thanks to ryobi days that this is necessary even just as a charger
Oh man that thing would be amazing on my ranch.
It looks wonderful, but it also looks like you have to use 8 batteries with it to get the total power output. Yowza!
I hope we get this in the UK.
Solar charging while in use please! Maybe an adapter with a solar charge port that goes b/w the battery and the tool, or solar charge port built into the battery pack.
Hi, I love Ryobi Tools, I have around 50 tools with batteries between 1.5AH to 4.0AH, I have many question about your generator. First one, does it charge by solar panel? Second, Does it need only 6.0AH batteries or if it work with all batteries to use the already have? Third, How long it take to fully charge the 8 batteries?
When is it going to be released???
still waiting for the "coming soon" sign to change on your website. I did find a work around for my 40v inverter. I use my blower back pack with 3 40v/6ah batteries to
extend my run time to 18ah in slot #4. I look forward to the kit version's arrival since I have buckets full of the 18v's.
What about 220-230v. Capability to charge from solar panels. And the price.
So is this Vaporware since its Sept and no sign on when it will hit the market? Was looking forward for it.
You need to list how long items run
I’m drooling
Does this have pass through charging? How particular is the charging input port? Will a 90 watt usb-c PD charger from a laptop work? (I assume if it does it would limit down to 60w still)
When is it actually coming out on the floor as in Home Depot?
You forgot to mention how fast your batteries drain from running a fridge tv etc at once an I agree that when these new tools come out the bigger batteries should come the same time. I have the 40v power station and I couldn't run a 20 inch industrial fan for 8 hours by itself with 4 6ah batteries and that was a bummer
They just recently announced new 8Ah and 12Ah batteries, so looks like your wish came true!
can you do a side by side comparison of this unit to the 40V battery unit? Wondering how much more power and runtime the 40V unit might have (if any) thanks.
I have a lot of 18 v batteries already so dont want to upgrade unless there is a significant difference.
Can you swap the 18v batteries out one by one to keep it running for longer?
Summer’s almost over… is this moving to a fall release or something? 😂
i hear this can run on just 4 batteries. so if you plug in all eight does it give you more wattage or just longer runtime?
Technical question. How long will it last when using a desktop alone? Please i need an answer
Can this be topped up or trickle charge via solar ? Like the smaller unit
At the price this is at, it only makes sense for a job site. It's very overpriced for all the other use cases you gave. An EcoFlow Delta 2 LFP battery at the same $999 price has 1024 wh compared to the 432wh the Ryobi kit comes with. And the EcoFlow can be charged by solar while you're using it..
Will there be a version for the UK?
You BETTER get an EU version out fast!
I'm digging the power station, but wonder what the cost of something like this will be when launched. If it's expensive then I'm not interested.
I'm expecting it to be pricey similar to the 40v model, BUT if they offer a "tool only" option it MIGHT be ok for those who already own plenty of batteries.
I would buy one tomorrow if it had 12 V vehicle charging, solar panel charging, This would be perfect for people with cottages or campers. With the four batteries I'm guessing it's gonna be more than $1000
You don't have a USB-C charger in your car? You can buy them anywhere.
Can it rip a 4x4 pressure treated on a 16 amp table saw without cutting out.
It can be charged with solar panels but can you charge the unit while using it to power things. It takes so long to recharge if it cant run my fridge while recharging what good is it.
Will there be an EU/UK version of this unit?
Has anyone found information about the cost of this power station ? With and without batteries? I have yet to find any info on this ??
Seems to be anywhere from 650.00 to 1000.00 depending on locale/demand.
The main problem with these power stations are runtime. You can run a fridge tv fan at the same time but you need 8 12ah batteries to get the runtime you need. If you had a 8 hour power outage the batteries will die pretty fast with all these big devices
But does it have pass through charging, so you can use the outlets while charging?
Since you never know when you'll need it, keeping the batteries charged to 100% would be necessary. So then i wonder how long till the batteries degrade?
Solar is a must in todays world. Also needs to be able to be charged with honda style inverters.
I can't find it anywhere to buy. Not in home Depot just 40v
it needs 12 volt cigarette lighter socket for car use
Can I use this in parallel with the 40v???
is it solar rechargeable ?
Well… where’s it at?!?
Can u full charge a, 80v hp brushless 30" lithium electric zero turn riding mower from ryobi the one we the joystick control ?
I just saw the new 1800 watta inverter on the site.... and it looks nothing like this....
release was july, it’s august now. what’s the deal???
The 60 watt input seems weak compared to every other Ryobi charger.
Make the 18v and 40v both solar charge capable. Otherwise these products are dead on arrival and useless collectors items.
Useful to me. I run a real generator during the day and battery inverters at night. My batteries charge up when I run the generator and then I run them down through the night. Works fine. Not everyone is trying to spend their day chasing sunlight when they're camping.
It’s cool but for $1000 why would you not just buy a Honda gas generator?
you make it sound like it's an either or situation.
It doesn't use gas, there are times when gas is unavailable, or unadvisable.
I have a bunch of Ryobi batteries before they had tool only deals they were throwing free batteries at you. I was giving them away.
I have a monster tri-fuel generator from Costco that lasts 5 hrs on a full tank of gasoline 4 on a 20lb lpg tank and a little lpg genny that'll run 50 hrs on a 20lb tank
This would too the gaps.
@@dondiego124 Yes. And when power goes out, you can just start using it and not mess with maintaining another engine.
I use my generator during the day. This is quieter for night use and I can use it indoors. Why would you waste $1000 on a Honda generator when you can get plenty of others that work about as well for half that?
She could have just opened up the blinds 0:42
solar capable yes or no
Any solar panel that has USB-C output.
I’m buying more 18v 9ah batteries
So no solar or UPS mode.. why buy it when others have those options for the same money or less. Sorry Ryobi
