Unlike several of the commenter's. I found this video very helpful. I saw this platform online and it didnt list my flex tool as compatible. And i obviously look to RUclips for reviews and hopefully incite as to why its not compatible with my specific tool. Hoping to also come across a workaround. Which you gave! I don't have a 3D printer though and definitely wouldn't be able to figure out all the jargon you figured out. All that takes skill and its not part of my skill set. So i definitely appreciate you coming up with the solution if i did get this station. Especially being that you made it available for others to download and make themselves. So thank you for your hard work and persistence, and for making the prototype to make this station more usable for the flex shat tools. If i get the station, I'll see if i can find someone to 3D print that part. Because it looks like it would work great for my hobbies.
yeah... thanks for seeing past the impatient comments. i was disappointed in the work station. i am a ryobi fan luckily my other hobbies helped me fix this hobby station. I have since bought the new usb lithium rotory tool as part of a set. it works...
@robotadventures I'm going to stick with the tool I currently have. I have loads of the Ryobi brand tools. I'm a big fan but also realize there are improvements that can be made for a number of their pieces. Personally I think they should've included an adapter to add a corded or cordless drill to this station to make a light duty drill press. Or maybe make one for that use. So far the main thing I have seen in the reviews that concerns me about this station is it looks unstable for any permission jobs. Maybe it's just me looking to hard. But if I had a tool hooked up to it spinning a blade or bit with my hands close by I wouldn't want it to look like it's coming apart before my eyes. Would you consider it as sturdy? Maybe I'm just seeing things but I didn't get that sense.
Well it would help if you had a full size Ryobi rotary tool unfortunately you have a flex shaft model. Hence the problem you're running into you will hand a hard time finding attachments specifically for a flex shaft rotary. Almost all rotary attachments are made for full-size rotary tools, regardless of brand. Since Ryobi has just recently started pushing out a line of flex-only rotary tools and, aside from one Dremel makes, they are very uncommon, I'm sure - if you're patient - Ryobi's attachment line for it's flex shaft models will (slowly) begin to grow in numbers for options. Until then, if you continue to buy attachments (separate from accessories) for a full size rotary tool (like the 4 Ryobi models you put a screen shot showing in the first half of this video, I'll go back and edit in a timestamp in just a minute here EDIT: timestamp 7:57) you will continually find yourself having to jerry-rig em' to fit and be compatible with your flex shaft model. Still, I could still understand your frustrations considering what you've already invested into your rotary tool and the add-on's, including the hobby station (which is priced at a bill just by itself). Hopefully, for your sake, Ryobi starts putting out more flex shaft rotary tool compatible parts. (One of the main reasons I won't purchase Ryobi's rotary models similar to yours, because of the lack of helpful attachments. The other being they're all battery powered and, despite being tied down by a cord, I'll never have to worry about fading power from a dying battery when I'm in the middle of a project. Everybody's pros and cons list are different though, those are just mine.) Good luck.
Exactly. Well thought out. That was my point in making this review. Ryobi's lack of support for existing rotary tools and requiring a crazy fix like mine or buy a new rotary tool. Like i said i have the dremel work station and have reviewed it. I like Dremel. they have a lot of fun attachments. I have the Dremel vice, mini saw ,plunge router, and router table.. ect. the router table plastic has warped over the years. Unless you know what you are getting into, "pro hobbyist" you will have to buy one of the 4 new ryobi rotary tools or use a dremel. I love puzzles so "jerry rigging them" is part of the fun. Spending a couple hundred bucks on something that will keep you entertained for hours and have something to show for it seems like a good investment. Way better than going out to the club/bar/expensive restaurant and you cant remember what happened to your money.
@@WareWolfMoonWall i really want the foot pedal one too. it has the nice handle. if i pick it up ill make the adapter 3d print it and make a video. This is my "hobby." making figures and playing with toys. I use CAD everyday at work for home remodeling. no problem for me. but i think about the kid or old lady trying to do something with wood and being forced to buy something they may not need just to use the Hobby Station. Bad Ryobi.
Did you wanna do a review? Maybe show how well it works with a compatible tool? Or did you just wanna whine about how you didn't read which tools it works with?
Did you just want to whine about how you didn't listen to the part where I told children, dumbases, and stupid people without patients not to watch? It was at the very beginning.
sorry you can not buy one. that is the problem. ryobi screwed oover people with the old version. you can go to thingiverse and download my adaptor. good luck
Excellent review. Every other review was standard sugar coated marketing. I really appreciate the time you spent pointing out the negatives you could find. I think that this table will be useful to me and I'm not as worried about unknown negatives. Definitely put that adapter you made up on Printables and earn some free filament!
This is a waste of time. Did you have any forethought when deciding to do this video? I try to always be positive in comments, but this one has me dumbfounded. Goodbye.
thanks for the 6 minutes... maybe you don't understand English. There was a warning at 1 minute for dumbasses and impatient people not to watch. 1 minute is less than 6 minutes. So which are you to ignore the warning? Clearly i was anticipating people i warned not to watch.
@@robotadventures Apparently I skipped over the warning, as I was trying to get to the substance of the video…the Ryobi unit you advertised as a review. I was interested in why it was disappointing and the spoilers. Being impatient is not parallel to being a dumbass. The video showed you have bigger issues, your reply confirmed it. Now you’ve wasted another minute of my life, you won’t get another…7 is my limit for misleading titles
smiling in a patronizing way. From your video view count of about a generous 500, I am guessing you are still working on your English.... or are you super boring? You are trying to make it do what you want it to do with the tools you already have. How about you use it the way it was designed to work? What is with the talking toy? Are you 5?
thanks for watching. im guessing you are senile about 85 years old? you forgot the intro where i said dumbarses stupid impatient people need not watch. how about they design it to use their own existing tools instead of forcing you to buy a new ryobi rotaty tool, or using s different manufacturer, Dremel.? Are you some kind of attention seeking hypocritical anti-3dprinting crybaby snowflake troll? your own playlist on your homepage has 3d printer content. masochist
