This was very helpful video. I’ve been practicing and my friends think I went to the Salon. Very informative and the fact that you said it’s NOT just a Dominican thing. Women of ALL ethnic backgrounds have been using rollers. I respect that. Thank you 🙌🏽🙏🏽❤️🌺💯⭐️
Your videos have been a lifesaver for me! While my hair isn't curly; it's a chaotic frizzy mess if I let it air dry. I've always kept it insanely long mainly because I can. When I was little my grandma would use soup cans to roller set it 🤣 Thanks to Amazon; I have 3in and 5in rollers now. Thanks to your videos; I can rollerset my hair in an afternoon.
I don't know who else does it, but in Dominican Republic, is a tradition and part of our culture to do rollers it is a must, no matter your hair texture. These women won't even mind to wear them all day long. LOL
I had a Jamaican hairdresser yrsss ago & her place was straight all about these exact rollers for setting. Every & many use these. they do a nice job. I find it a bit of a trial. it depends not everyone likes them. I want to try the flexi ones
Well, I'm 62 yrs old & my arms get tired quickly. So I stopped rolling my hair for quite some time. After watching this video, I'm very eager to try it again. U simplified your explanation & clearly showed how easy it really is. Great job!👍
Thank you so much!! This was my very first time doing my own rollers (at 22 yrs old lol) and my arms are deaaaddd 🤣🤣🤣 The outcome wasn’t the greatest, but I’m set on practicing more and more until I don’t have to depend on anybody else to do them for me. So, again, thank you!!!
I did my first roller set by following your video and it came out amazing for my first time! 🥰 thank you for being very specific and explaining yourself very well for us to achieve this on ourselves! 😘 Best rollerset tutorial out there! Thank you ☺️
I just want to say, "you look gorgeous even with hair rollers in your hair." Thanks for the video, I learned a few points. This is one of the best hair roller set videos I have seen so far. Very detailed, but simple and quick. All these years, I forgot that was the purpose of the hair net, old school is still the best. I'm off to the beauty supply store.
I’m Dominican. Moved to San Antonio and afternoon being charged $75 for a basic cold blow dried I decided to learn on my own. A much needed video! Today was my first trial and it took me an hour to do them but gotta start somewhere. Got my ceramic iron, leave in, thermal protector and everything else and can’t wait to get better at this. When you move from Dominican Republic to USA, you go from lying about $8 usd to $30-60 usd for a blow dry.
LOVE This detailed description on how to do rollers on yourself! The details of the items to use and how to use it properly. The break down definitely helped me understand how to do this on myself, as well as, neater and faster. Thank you for helping a girl out!
Thank you Darling, I'm from Panama, when I was a teenager my mom brought me every sunday to roller set my hair, this is a marvelous way to have sleek hair with no damage, and of couse a dubbie or tuby like we say here in my country
Thanks Í have 4 girls n it's hard to keep up w their hair at the salon. Is so costy ... so I decided to watch your channel to learn how to roller set. I will try it this week
Thank you so much! Loved your Tutorial- I moved from NY to Alabama and there are no Dominican Salons... so I had to learn this on my own! Miss my Dominican Salons!!! I look forward to more of your videos.
Thank you so much. You are an awesome teacher. I have watched countless RUclips videos on how to do a roller set on yourself, your video gave the most details. Thank you so much. Now after watching your video I believe I'll be able to successfully do a roller set on my owm hair. Thank you 😊
THANK YOU! I'm biracial with like fine hair, also processed with color, and like medium curls 3b...girl I tried to do a roller set like another video and now realize I was using the wrong product and wrong product placement for my hair type. This makes so much more sense. Thank you thank you thank you 🙌🏽 less product ✅️ light light weight oil on ends not setting lotion all over (for my hair) ✅️
I absolute love your tutorial thank you so much!! I wanted this one and how to do the Dominican blowout. I used the flexirod rollers instead because the round ones didn’t hold. I also. Flat ironed it afterwards. But my hair is flawless today!!! You are amazing thank you so much!!
I'm a newbie to your channel. Your video was very informative. I have done my own roller set before but your tips will help me the next time for an even better roller-set. Thanks for sharing this video!
Oh my goodness thank you so much not a beauty parlor is there really going to miss me because now I've learned to do my own relaxers and my own rollers and my own treatments and now the beauty parlors are not going to make any money because I'm learning everything on RUclips by Beautiful People such as yourself thank you so so so much I love you
My hair curly i dont have edges my daughter says People with curly hair want straight hair . I like mine straight. My 8 year old granddaughter has natural curly hair real pretty hair. She wants her hair straight. But its been real curly for years. My 2 year old grandson have real curly hair like hers. They have the same texture of hair.
Thank u for watching! You could leave it to airdry, I wouldnt leave it overnight. That'll be uncomfortable. I would just do the heat it make it set better.
I love this video. I use the metal wire mesh rollers right now but when my hair gets longer I'll be using these magnetic rollers. Your tutorial allows me to do my own rollers at home and they dry as I wash my dishes lol
what a beautiful spirit she has ...no finish pic.?..shes not even trying to show off her beauty💕😍..always pleasant to me💕❤and this video is just what i wanted to see thank you..❤
So I really enjoyed this video and I want to start saving money by doing my own duties at home so what are your recommendations for the drying part lol cuz all I got is a hand dryer girl😅😂 That's the part that I'm like okay how the heck am I supposed to complete the doobie. I want to make sure I get a good one so can you share a link or something please
We grew up using rollers. And Bobby pins. This was before blow dryers were used. We let the hair air dry with the rollers in either all day or over night.
Great video. What standing hair dryer do you recommend to buy. Also I have relaxed hair so what products would you recommend to grow my hair weekly or biweekly?
Loved the tutorial, however there were no following up instructions. Do you put it under a hooded dryer? Do you use a normal blow dryer? And what does your hair look like when you pull out the rollers? Is your hair straight? And will Velcro rollers do the same thing? Thank you.
I would have loved to see you do a final style after you either air dried or came out from under the dryer. I'll search your channel to see if you've already done a video like that. First video I've ever seen of yours. Great instructions. Thank you.
Great job! I haven’t rolled my hair in like 20 years. Have been using flat iron but now want to go back to rolling and needed a refresher. I am going to see if you have a doobie tutorial as well. Thanks for sharing. Your are beautiful by the way :-)
I REALLY hope you see this. 🤞 First, thank you for this tutorial; it was great! 🙏❤ A couple of questions though: What is the specific name of those clips? What's your recommendation for an at- home bonnet dryer that will accommodate a full head of the largest 3" extra jumbo rollers?

Hi, I want to know if the different kind of rollers makes a difference I have the once you just put on also have the self stick rollers don't need pins?
Thanks for watching! At any beauty supply store or www.amazon.com/Conair-Magnetic-Rollers-75-Pack/dp/B001KYW7KQ/ref=sr_1_24?crid=2L7N1WJI8TJUU&keywords=hair+rollers&qid=1645646450&sprefix=hair+rollers%2Caps%2C123&sr=8-24
I tried this last night and failed so badly! Lol. I have a lot of hair and it’s long and getting the back part done was sooo difficult. You make it look so easy!
Great video very detailed. And great tips for curly hair!!! I also noticed you used a lot of different tools like the spray bottle to keep your hair saturated. Thanks for the video!!!
My hair had a blow out in my thumbnail pic but how long does this style last & how do u keep it up while sleeping? I have very naturally curly curly hair for white woman so sometimes I need it a more straightened w/out heat - I don’t ever use heat unless I’m getting hair done at salon she does a blowout at end when highlights n trim love this.... went to cosmo school back in 93 it’s been awhile
Ooh I didn’t even notice the space on the double prong clips. I have the wrong ones by Annie (no space). I have 5 black rollers and 2 packs of grey rollers. Finally doing this. Got a whole mini salon set up and the 1 thing I haven’t done is a doobie/rollerset. It’s AUON !!! Wish I had some perfect for perms/Razac. It smells soooo goood !!!! I feel like I have to make my sections about half your size though. My roots something different 😩😭 Wish me luck
I can never get the rollers tight. No matter how wet and detangled my hair is, it doesn't stick to the rollers. The clips do not hold the rollers. No matter where I put them. Not even if I use the picks instead of the clips, that stick in my scalp. As soon as I let the clips and rollers go the roller loses tension. I end up with cold wet cramped fingers, sore arms, and dismal matted hair, that never dries, no matter how long I sit under the dryer.
I rollerset as,well but i still learned a better tecnique with ur vídeo. Will love more vídeos on how to do color transición n how to cover gray as well as different Hair treatnent. Thanks
The video was exactly what I was looking to learn, but not seeing the final result meant looking for another video as i wanted to see the difference between up curling and down curling.
i've been waiting for a video like this. yay. The rollers are pretty tricky to get right for me. And i know you don't like curly hair but yours is so pretty.

As usual yall don't listen
Everyone and their mother had to use rollers back in the day. It’s only recently we have faster methods lol 😂❤
Your videos have been a lifesaver for me! While my hair isn't curly; it's a chaotic frizzy mess if I let it air dry. I've always kept it insanely long mainly because I can. When I was little my grandma would use soup cans to roller set it 🤣
Thanks to Amazon; I have 3in and 5in rollers now.
Thanks to your videos; I can rollerset my hair in an afternoon.
I like the fact that you acknowledged that roller sets are not just a Dominican thing!
Briana Ponzo yes hunni! I'm from NOLA been getting roller sets "fa-evah" 😎
Briana Ponzo Well she shouldn't label that title
I don't know who else does it, but in Dominican Republic, is a tradition and part of our culture to do rollers it is a must, no matter your hair texture. These women won't even mind to wear them all day long. LOL
We did it in Jamaica like forever so how it's a Dominican thing lol
I had a Jamaican hairdresser yrsss ago & her place was straight all about these exact rollers for setting. Every & many use these. they do a nice job. I find it a bit of a trial. it depends

Old school way of hairstyling proven and tested that cannot damage you're hair.
Right, this was basic haircare in the 90s. The black American salons got away from doing this and the real hair was cared for.
@@riaapril1414 The 90’s ? Women were styling their hair like this in the 1940’s 😂😂😂😂
@@minkyfran8307 I wasn't living back then and I get it. My point is this is the standard for haircare.
Charming girl. Fun to see a roller set done right. Not easy to master. I learned in beauty school in 1976.
I just want to say, "you look gorgeous even with hair rollers in your hair." Thanks for the video, I learned a few points. This is one of the best hair roller set videos I have seen so far. Will it work if we leave it in rollers overnight to air dry? Or does heat need to be applied?
Thank u for watching! You could leave it to airdry, I wouldnt leave it overnight. That'll be uncomfortable.
I would just do the heat it make it set better.

Once you're done, do you let it air dry? Or do you have a machine air dryer at home?
This was very helpful!!! I did my hair tonight but I struggled..Wish I had seen this before I started!!

I NEVER USED THE MOROCCAN OIL BUT LOVE THE ARGAN OIL... HAVE YOU TRIED THE ARGAN OIL AND IF SO WHICH DO YOU PREFER ?
I love the pins to hold your rollers, where can I find them??? Not at Amazon, Walmart or Sally’s and thanks for the tutorial Johanna
I really like this video ty I needed this tutorial is there any chance you could do a close up of how you put the roller clips on?
We grew up using rollers. And Bobby pins. This was before blow dryers were used. We let the hair air dry with the rollers in either all day or over night.
Hi Johanna, I like you, you are very natural and your tutorial is so good, very detailed, is moroccan oil organ oil?. Thanks in advance.
I'm looking to buy another hooded hair dryer. There are a few hooded ones out there. Could you tell me what would be the best one to buy? Thanks 😁
This really was helpful. It helped me to do rollers on my gf. But wow, very good quality video, what camera do you use? 🤩
All over Haiti and in haitian salons up north also, grew up on doing these sets weekly in those salons. xD
Probly.
i have been looking for a Dominican Hair video youtuber w.e for like 5 months, i was this close to just starting my own channel. Gracias!

what is Dominican hair???
Great video. What standing hair dryer do you recommend to buy. Also I have relaxed hair so what products would you recommend to grow my hair weekly or biweekly?
Hi, love the video. For some reason I'm not pinning the correct way, the roller is slipping does the pin go into the hard and roller?
please make a part two! your videos are the best!
Loved the tutorial, however there were no following up instructions. Do you put it under a hooded dryer? Do you use a normal blow dryer? And what does your hair look like when you pull out the rollers? Is your hair straight? And will Velcro rollers do the same thing? Thank you.
Where is the after picture?!?!?!?!
Lol. THANKS for watching. Check out my instagram posts. I blew dried after the dryer.

Great video! I’m going to try it out for the first time, I spend too much money at the salon lol.
How long to air dry this with below shoulder length? And will it still be straight if I air dry or frizzy?
Great job! I haven’t rolled my hair in like 20 years. Have been using flat iron but now want to go back to rolling and needed a refresher. I am going to see if you have a doobie tutorial as well. Thanks for sharing. Your are beautiful by the way :-)
Thank you;) Let me know how it goes
Can you recommend a professional hooded ionic dryer?
I REALLY hope you see this. 🤞
First, thank you for this tutorial; it was great! 🙏❤
A couple of questions though:
What is the specific name of those clips?
What's your recommendation for an at- home bonnet dryer that will accommodate a full head of the largest 3" extra jumbo rollers?

I tried this last night and failed so badly! Lol. I have a lot of hair and it’s long and getting the back part done was sooo difficult. You make it look so easy!
Practice makes perfect....Keep practicing!!!
Great video very detailed. And great tips for curly hair!!! I also noticed you used a lot of different tools like the spray bottle to keep your hair saturated. Thanks for the video!!!
If you don't have a hooded dryer at home, should you air dry or use a blow dryer?
My hair had a blow out in my thumbnail pic but how long does this style last & how do u keep it up while sleeping? I have very naturally curly curly hair for white woman so sometimes I need it a more straightened w/out heat - I don’t ever use heat unless I’m getting hair done at salon she does a blowout at end when highlights n trim love this.... went to cosmo school back in 93 it’s been awhile
This technique will work for you
Ooh I didn’t even notice the space on the double prong clips.
I have a standalone dryer and I can't fit my whole head under the dryer with my big rollers. So the top might get dry and the bottom less dry.
I usually just move my head every 5-10 min to dry all parts
I can never get the rollers tight. No matter how wet and detangled my hair is, it doesn't stick to the rollers. The clips do not hold the rollers. No matter where I put them. Not even if I use the picks instead of the clips, that stick in my scalp. As soon as I let the clips and rollers go the roller loses tension. I end up with cold wet cramped fingers, sore arms, and dismal matted hair, that never dries, no matter how long I sit under the dryer.
Same. I've mastered every style you can think of...except a roller set. Smh. I try at least twice a year tho! Lol.
We have the same type of hair but mine is more full. I just did this but my hair is always frizzy so i am nervous
Your eyes are so pretty 😍😍
Russian, German eyes, like my Dad, except his are light blue💧
If you don’t have a dryer , do you leave these over night ? Or for a couple of hours ?
this was a great tutorial thanks for showing us how to use those rollers
Hi love clips you used on the rollers. What is that type of clip called and where can I buy it?
Here they are...amzn.to/43PtFB2
I rollerset as,well but i still learned a better tecnique with ur vídeo. Will love more vídeos on how to do color transición n how to cover gray as well as different Hair treatnent. Thanks
Wondering about the clips you use what type are they? The name brand would be helpful. Thanks
another great video Johanna! you are so talented, and detailed. you make it look so easy
What is the purpose of rolling your hair then straightening it. Wouldn’t it be easier to just blow it out once?
Less heat and body.
no it doesn’t dry as nice rollers give you a light, silky bounce
Hi Johana it’s Josarie from Newtown Surprised to see you here! And then I remembered you have a salon! I susbscribed and now I’m going to do my rolos!
The video was exactly what I was looking to learn, but not seeing the final result meant looking for another video as i wanted to see the difference between up curling and down curling.
I love the color.
Hola... if you use a hair dryer with your length hair how long will it take to dry? Thanks!!!
i've been waiting for a video like this. yay. The rollers are pretty tricky to get right for me. And i know you don't like curly hair but yours is so pretty.

I absolutely loved your tutorial! What's the name of the hair pins? My hair always gets caught on the regular ones because they stick out so much :(
I also need the style name of the roller pins/clips used in this tutorial?
