Well, nice video and all but the more you promote Chico, the more people that move there, the more urban sprawl there’ll be; and the more the quality of life there will tumble. That’ll be Chico’s sad future if videos like this gain traction.
@@dolittle6781 I’m not sure if this video will cause people to move here but maybe! And you can’t force or stop growth, you can only plan for it. The best thing to do is plan for growth so that as it comes we don’t have a town that’s not prepared for it.
@@BrentSilberbauer …yes, planning is important yet why not plan for a leveling off of expansion. At a certain point, stop. Maybe we could figure out what an optimum growth level would look like and then not exceed it. I get it, growth means jobs, but that’s a “whole nother” conversation.
I'm thinking of Chico for the long haul. A cheap apartment for a number of years. And, then, farm land. So my home is making money for me. Almonds. Walnuts. Buy a property with a contract with Blue Diamond. Chico looks great. I have a terrible low back problem. The last thing...
I am planning to send my son to California State University in Chico for Bachelor of Computer Science subject to he gets scholarship. May I know what is minimum lowest cost of one room in a shared apartment or house or villa and can he get $15 to 20 per hour for part time job?
I work for the local property managements. I don't check prices that often, because that's not my job. But I do know one complex that has ten units available. $2000 a month for four bedrooms. Apartments. My mom and I are kind of looking for some help. When people (usually students) move out of a place, we get the units ready for the next group moving in. $23/hr at first, then more later. Could work as little or as much as he wants. We get our pick of jobs now.
...I want to do is get in the car. I can walk all over the place. Take the bus across town and walk back. Use my electric bike a little. Sitting hurts so much. I don't know about biking for me. Bidwell Park is just exactly what I need. I used to live near and enjoy Vasona Park in Los Gatos, CA. I'm looking for a walkable small city.
I ❤ Chico
same my man. Same.
Chico pays well! I found 100 bucks on the sidewalk! It payed for my hotel room or the Molly I was on!😂
Nice? 🤔

@@BrentSilberbauer Yes, that's the prevailing narrative. Chicoeans, enjoy Chico while it's still liveable!
@@dolittle6781 …and maybe plan for growth. So much easier to plan for growth before it’s here then react to growth.

@@dolittle6781 because you can’t practically stop people from moving here.

Butte County is the worst place in California to raise a child, having the highest rates of child abuse in the state.

Crazy. I also grew up in Los Gatos and went to Vasona Park many times. Born at Good Sam. Moved to Aptos, CA when I was 13. Small world.
must say chico is nice place but the homeless problem is destroying it. 1 mile not even safe to swim in anymore.
@@oACE20o I have to say it ebbs and flows but there is a battle for clean and safe public spaces in our town.
@@BrentSilberbauer i agree but the park is not a homeless camp. it my opinion on chico.
Who blacked your eye bro
Ha. Playing basketball. I got elbowed in the face.
