@@Reverend_Nada But it would have been done right. Tons of new extras, much better artwork, posters, and probably would have gotten the whole set of movies
Yes you're right that commentary was originally on the Laserdisc from 1996. That Laserdisc is also the only time the deleted scenes were released from a work print. These deleted scenes were never ported to a DVD or Blu Ray and remain on this LD all 30 minutes of them. I still own this Laserdisc and would never sell it.
Richard! Great haircut (or styling). Glad to see you. Same here about seeing it early. I'm thinking maybe Sound Warehouse? Or Tower Records? I need to pick up a copy. I vaguely remember the audio troubled edition. That's a shame. I'm still on bluray. Very cool. Oddly I saw the Keep is on youtube (free with ads). I didn't watch it so I don't know if it's the restored edition or the old version. That is excellent news. I hope you have a fantastic weekend! I think it was a Pioneer laser disc. Not sure. I'm sad to say I'm having a tough week. I hope your week went very well! Caveat. You are completely correct. Good to know it's a good disc pressing. Thank you Rich!
Yeah, I would have to agree with you. That audio queue did sound low. I had to really dig my ear into into my cellphone to hear it. I guess that’s WB screwing us over like a twirling lawnmower.
I didn't pick it up because I'll wait for the inevitable boxed set. I think they'll milk Nightmare for all it's worth. Good review and cool video Richard!👉🏼🙂👈
That cover is why I bought the steelbook instead, I can't believe they couldn't find something better than that to use for the cover if they weren't going to use the original poster art.
I needed to upgrade my 2010 blu, so I had to snag this. A shame we don’t get new extras. And yes, definitely pick up Never Sleep Again. And while you’re at it, grab Crystal Lake Memories.
I'm glad my set arrived a few days ago to be able to enjoy it even if I don't have a 4k set up yet. Eventually when one of my TVs go out I will but for now I'm good with blu rays
Thank you very much!!! I am waiting for my copy of the U.K. version to come in from Diabolik DVD, but having found out they're numbered, I am wondering what number I might have gotten if I hadn't canceled my original Amazon U.K. order that I placed in May, which I canceled because I somehow imagined that the U.S. version would be the same and of course, they hadn't released any images at the point at which I canceled the order, and there may not have been full details on what was included as of then either.
I went with the UK edition that does include a Blu-ray and the steelbook has the original artwork. I thought the Atmos track was fantastic, made me feel like I was in that boiler room.
Everybody is entiteled to their opinion and the beauty of RUclips is that everybody can share it. If it wanted to be really hyped by the AV community it should have been less scrubbed. But it's a perfectly fine release. I watched it yesterday and I understand the reactions. It's great but it's just not the perfect authentic bountique style restauration we would have absolutely loved. It's very good for a Warner 4K but doesn't compare to the Arrow/Scream/VS 4k we really wanted.
I did see something that is hopefully a good sign SOMETHING is being done with the sequels, apparently the director of Freddy's Dead is doing something with the 3D according to an Instagram post from last week.
Nightmare on Elm Street was filmed in the summer 1984 and came out in November the same year.
I still wish Scream Factory did this release
Nah… then it would cost more for those of us not in the states.
@@Reverend_Nada But it would have been done right. Tons of new extras, much better artwork, posters, and probably would have gotten the whole set of movies
@redwillow79schippers94 I would prefer Arrow for that.
At least that way everyone could get it reasonably easily.
@@M0J0jojo I agree with that but I'll take what I can get. I just want each film on a separate disc with commentaries on each
@@redwillow79schippers94They couldn’t get the rights to it. End of story. 😂

Yeah sounds right, I remember listening to it and Wes saying how great the film looked at the time on the new format
No in 96 they also released a double tape
VHS that has work print scenes in tape 2
I got the limited edition in the mail today and the picture is amazing and the original audio was on point.

This film looks amazing, and it makes me love it even more
I hope we get the rest of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies in 4K . Mybe in a box set . and we need the TV series on Blu-Ray as well
I have my Nightmare 4K Steelbook on order from Walmart -- which is apparently delayed - I suppose maybe I'll get it in Nov
I didn't pick it up because I'll wait for the inevitable boxed set. I think they'll milk Nightmare for all it's worth. Good review and cool video Richard!👉🏼🙂👈
But if it never happens people will milk you for the ones out now.. 😂
@hhinojosareef1 definitely!🤑

Mines not here until November 16th, thanks to Amazon preoder in the UK waiting on the collectors edition.

The steelbox that includes a poster and lobby cards has a blu ray which I think is a repackage from the previous blu ray package
There's just pleasing some people. We finally get this film and a few people on RUclips just have to nit-pick.

Critique is good. I don’t want just praise for getting something.

I keep my blu-ray until a better release comes along
