    It was a top weekend . My first festival . Drove to reading from St Helens in my mark 2 escort . Took 10hours haha most of that was driven in the hard shoulder of the motorway as the wipers wasn’t working to well and it lashing down !
    Incredible memories. Me and Evo 🍺

    Hitch hiked to Reading from Morecambe to meet my brother and his friends on the Thursday. Couldn't find him till the Saturday. Had been sleeping by people's campsites. Pissing down rain. Fucking miserable. Saturday afternoon saw my brother finally. No mobiles back then. Went to the record fair outside, got tickets off people leaving and sold them to people going in. Made enough money for a ticket. Got in the actual festival finally. This was the first thing I saw. Awesome.

    All of them 100% confident on their instruments, amazing. Loved them since K was released, pure nostalgia.

    Mad respect for this band! "Underrated" has become a cliche, but seriously, Kula Shaker have never received the recognition they deserved. You can see they LOVE music & performing, this along is priceless

    I was at this show and it's one of the stand out memories of the weekend. I turned 21 while at the festival and at the time Kula Shaker were my favourite band so this was a highlight.

    Quality. That improvised version of Rain is wonderful.

  • @andreasvogel5186

    You can't tell it from the video - "Rain" starts shaky because they improvised playing the song when a sudden shower started at the end of "Tattva". Unforgettable moment.

    Fenomenal band, but evidently not many people can grasp their genius, a trip out of the squared box of ordinary life

    I know that "underrated" gets thrown around a lot but damn. They were so f*xkin cool, and they had the tunes. That voice, those riffs... It all felt so effortlessly perfect. It's really a shame that they didn't get more recognition.

      The 90s at their very best ... ❤❤❤❤

  • @donniet685
    @donniet685 9 месяцев назад +6

    The 90s was the last decade that rocked live music wise. I think everything seemed to change around the time of the overuse of portable technology and X-factor.

      A lot of it had to do with the change in the way music was consumed too - downloading and streaming replaced buying actual physical copies (CDs and vinyl).

    • @donniet685
      @donniet685 9 месяцев назад

      @@johnnycalvino7490 More so streaming I think, there are music consumers that are never away from the internet. When I first started downloading - Napster, Kazaa, AudioGalaxy - I burnt music to CDRs, Even when Mp3 players came out (which I still use when on the move) the process of listening was (is) still without the need for streaming.

    • @donniet685
      @donniet685 6 месяцев назад

      @@johnnycalvino7490 Yes, once upon a time it took effort to save money and go to a physical shop to buy physical music and then put in effort to listen to it. Recently everything has been so throwaway. Attention spans have also decreased.

    As a musician, it makes feel a bit better witnessing my favorite band relatably struggling with sound guy issues. Definitely know what it's like when a festival sound guy can't give you anything you're asking for. Yet, the sound does sound really good here in the video!
