I've heard many excellent versions of this song. Each one is beautiful. To say that one is better than another is so wrong. I also don't understand the attack on Idina Menzel. Her voice is just as angelic as all those others I've heard sing this song.
@@KBAFourthtime and we are both talking about singing. No need to be a know it all. Irene Bedard was the speaking voice and Judy the singing; the song has endured as a hit so most people associate Pocahontas with Judy.
The lady who played Svetlana in the Broadway version does a much better Russian accent than Barbara Dickson though. Although Barbara Dickson sang her part of the song beautifully, her Scottish accent is still very strong even though she was attempting a Russian accent 😃
Chess is a stage musical and has not been made into a movie (until now). However, you can enjoy this music video which was filmed for the promotion of the original concept album: ruclips.net/video/s2SDInk6voA/видео.html
Judy Kuhn always put so much emotion into everything she sings - she breaks my heart every time
The music and lyrics speak to the broken souls of all of us who have known and lost
This is the version I am most familiar with, since it's what I could afford to buy at the time, and it's great!

I love the lyrics, thanks for putting them here.
Crazy amazing voices in the American version. Judy Kuhn owns it.
Two outstanding ladies doing what they do best, wow!
Love this song & others from Chess! I've looked for a cast recording & couldn't find it. Thanks for posting!

This song reminds me of 'In His Eyes' from Jekyll and Hyde in that it's a song about two women loving the same man.
I grew up listening to Judy Khun on Chess - nothing else compares
Love, love, love Judy Kuhn's voice. ♥
I love this song. It's gorgeous.
my favorite version :)
Descobri esse musical lendo uma biografia do ABBA .
Björn e Benny são grandes compositores !

When I hear Judy singing she always reminds me of Pocahontas....what a voice!
She voiced Pocahontas.
@@mattymariah Singing voice only, though.

Judy Kuhn sings it beautifully although I can't help picturing Pocahontas singing! 🤣
Can you please upload the scene from the film where this song's sung? I'd love to see it,since it would be so cute.💛💛💛💛

Marcia has a beautiful voice, I wish she didn't slide so much.
This is such a beautiful song! =)

Seriously, if they really met face to face, This Duet would be a cat fight.
Michael Davidson theyre grown women who are tired of fighting. The point is kinda that it didn’t turn out in a cat fight
@@AvacadoChan nah grown women fight too. This would've been a throwdown lol.
Amazing
Marcia Mitzman has a great voice as well.
So that's not Sherie Rene Scott?
♥
Judy & Marcia
Nick Metzger is SO BEST.
Judy Kuhn has a great voice, but NO ONE can do this song better than the two woman who originated it, Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson
