I know many people have said this, but Marion, you are amazing! So many skills and talents and beautiful ideas. Loved your story how you came to be named Marion, wonderful!! Thank you for sharing all that you do.🥰
Words can't describe how beautifully talented you are. You're an amazing person and I greatly appreciate you sharing your talents with others. Hugs to you.
I just love your 'take it on' attitude, Marion. Love how you just decide to try something and have a go at it, all the while not being overly self critical or perfectionistic about what you're doing, but just enjoying the process. This is something we all are resonating with because we all aspire to be more like this with our creative process I'm thinking. You are so sweet to share all of yourself in this way and you probably have no idea how many people you are encouraging and inspiring. Your needle case is lovely, but your soul is even lovelier and it comes shining through in every generous video. xoxo
That was lovely to read thank you. I do hope I show that you don't need much to start being creative with something. These days there's so much to buy it can be off putting for someone who thinks they need lots of stuff before they start.
"i made my own buttons out of a stick from the garden".....ooohhh mmyyyy goodness!!! Marion you are the best thing ive ever seen. Seriously each time i watch a video you show us something knew. Marion, you are a very talented Lady! I really enjoyed watching you make your little thread box and scissor holder. I have got to try and make the scissor holder to go around my neck. That was just precious. Now I know how to make my own wooden buttons. I am going tomorrow to baby sit my 3.5 month old grandson for my son to work and before I leave I'm going to go in the woods and cut myself some branches to make buttons. You are so full of ideas! Thank you so much for your tutorials. I just love watching you make things. Many Blessings. 🥰
What a treasure of video Marion! Thanks for sharing the story of your name and the bow and arrow signature. The scissor’s case turned out lovely and the Chinese box was such a genius idea. Marion, what a treasure you are! I just discovered your channel today and thoroughly enjoyed it! I learned about hussifs and housewives when I was volunteering at an historical living history museum. How do stitchers nowadays manage without one?!?!! Looking forward to watching more of your episodes and listening to your stories! Thank you for sharing and for teaching people about some of the wonderful things of the past that were not only useful and necessary, but were also a joy in making and utilizing!

Lovely video Marion. I love the hussif it’s a work of art. Thank you for sharing the story of your signature Maide Marian! Your gardening video inspired me to get a hand rake, it’s brilliant!
I love Marion how you can think outside the box and see what can be made from things that I couldn't possibly see the value in. You are so inspirational and I thank you for another video that gets my imagination going. xx
I love your heartwarming “bow and arrow” story, and could easily imagine you as i little girl talking with your mother - so sweet💗, and such a lovely memory. And once again 🤗new ideas for pretty and practical things to use and admire. On my list again😂. Thank your so much🌷🌸🌺💗🥰

Your tutorials are brilliant and I am so appreciative of you sharing so much with us. I get so caught up in your teaching that I lose track of time and just love it. Thank you!
I love your little thread box idea. I've never seen one before. Such a cute idea even better that it's made out of fabric. Thank you for sharing how you made it. You make me want to try my hands at all kinds of new things.
I recently discovered your videos and love listening to and watching them. I am rediscovering embroidery in my retirement and you are do creative, educational, and overall lovely and relaxing to listen to. Thanks do much for making this videos. They are very inspirational. I feel like I have visited with you personally after watching each one.
Congratulations on surpassing the 15K subscribers Marion! Your hussif is beautiful! The origami box reminded me of something similar I saw eons ago, and I think it was used to carry coins in your pocket. Yours is so much nicer! Thanks for teaching us so many techniques. ❤
Lovely to catch up with your hussif making…I ve missed the earlier ones but will watch them. This brought back some lovely memories of my mum’s very simple hussif which now lives with a family friend and it got me polishing up my little vintage leather sewing case and thinking whether to make a hussif with pouches to put it in. Always enjoy watching your films Marion. They are inspiring and warm. Thank you 🧡
Lovely to watch you this morning with my morning coffee. I’m off now to make papier-mâché boats with my grandson, and we will be using stuff from my collections for that in ‘Marion’ style. ❤
Beautiful little pieces, Marion - just perfect for your hussif. That tiny fabric thread box is so cute yet eminently practical😍 Can't wait to see what you make next and how your garden comes on this year. God bless❤
Marion I'm amazed at your hand sewing. I have sewn everything from undergarments to coats and knit my own socks etc. Yet I cannot even sew a button on by hand. No one ever taught me to sew by hand. The weird thing is that I can embroider. You've given me inspiration to try to sew a button by hand. Who knows what I can do after that!
So cool Maid Marion! Love your story! It’s also cool how the brown inside of the scissor case ended up being purple and matches the purples in the rest of your Huswif!
Congratulations on 15k subscribers. I laughed with you when you placed the pink paint directly on the fabric. How lovely to go to Paris. You have such talent and obviously are full of ideas.
Thank you for sharing your Maid Marion/bow and arrow story. 💖 I really appreciate you showing how to make a scissor cover to fit my specific scissors….and make it beautiful as well. 💖💖💖
Oh Marion I just appreciate you & your videos so much! You make everything so interesting and so simple… but it’s not that simple for me! Thank you for such a lovely message to read Ella. I think I've always been thrifty too... originally it was from necessity but it turned into a way of life I suppose. I'm one of those annoying people who see something expensive and say..."I can make one of those"😂 and then get the bits of wood and glue and paint etc... I hope you enjoy making the scissors case and the little thread box. It's lovely to have practical things that are also beautiful 👍💐🧵🪡
@@marionsworld24 Oh thank you Marion, like you it started from necessity, I cut my 4 children's hair , made their clothes and sheets and made food stretch for miles lol.. I love paper gadgets. I'm going to try to make mine bigger, maybe 4 inch square using a sturdy cloth, maybe denim. The quilt club is going to like this for retreats.
Marion, fabulous video, how lovely your scissor holder is and I lOVE the little thread box, well done for working that out. Glad to hear you had a nice break with Naomi and her partner
Thank you for another lovely video. I love the idea of making do with what I have… I like simplicity yet complexity you bring to your work. Your ideas are just amazing. I am drawn to your channel and absolutely love listening to you. Thank you. 😊
Thank you Marion for your video . I managed to get the book, thankfully not at the price that some vendors were asking so my journey on the sewing accessories can get going. The little origami ORT bag ,inspired and such a lovely neat size. So glad you had a lovely time in France with your daughter and your thrifted fabric is beautiful. That silk shirt, what a colour. Maid Marion and a bow and arrow, I could just imagine you wanting something like Mouseman for a logo. Looking forward to future projects, see you next time in your world.
Marion you are such a brave woman to paint over that fabric but I totally get that. Make do and use what you have is mostly my motto too. Your Scissor keeper is truly gorgeous! I do Love your Maid Marion story too how lovely your story is. I have often wondered what the significance of your arrow was as I always admired it too. Thank You for sharing with us.
You are amazing Marion and i always enjoy watching a video from you! ❤ What a great little fabric box you made and the scissors case! 😊👍Now I've got my sewingroom back after it was a guestroom over Easter and I've sewn the pieces of fabric on the last Wednesday project. Time to embroider on it. Today it has been warm and sunny here. I have replanted some small lettuce plants on the balcony. Has a large plastic box as a "greenhouse". Thay have to live in it for a while because tomorrow there will come a lot of snow again 😕 and minus degrees for some days. Hope you have a good time Marion! ❤🌿🌸🌱🐝🌷🦋
Lovely tutorial Marion .I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it Your ideas are so original don't know how you come with them. I'm eagerly awaiting your next tutorial.
I love all your Huswif accessories.❤ I had the same idea for the fabric collapsing box, but could not figure out HOW. Thank you so much, Marion! ❤ Do you think it would work well in organza?
It's worth watching the linked video. The instructions for getting the correct sizes are easy to follow. But once I'd made it in paper I thought it was easier to just use that as my template..
Goodness you have a lot of patience when it comes to fiddling with complex things. I tend to give up too quickly if things are difficult as I lose faith in my abilities. It’s a confidence thing that I need to work on 😂
Love your scissor case and thread box. Something new for me to try and copy. Thank you. I had to smile at your story of your name. My mum went to the 'pictires' just before I was born. It was a Barbara Stanwick film (shows how old I am!) so I became Barbara. Not sure I ever really forgave mum for that!
She was such a great actress though... I've always thought I had quite an old fashioned name for my age group ..but I've always liked it.... probably the romantic association with Robin Hood no doubt ☺️
Hi Marion, I was totally mesmerized watching you create the little fabric box !!!!!!! Brilliant 🤗🤗🤗The scissor holder is lovely xXxX I am also now going to be scouring the garden for a branch to make buttons ..... what's next from your amazing mind ????? Can't wait 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
What a lovely story about how your signature came about...love your videos only recently discovered it...enjoy everything you do...all the best with all your ideas hopefully they will all materialize into beautiful treasures 🎉sounds a bit like me.😂 just not enough time in the day to do it all.❤
I am enjoying your instructions for scizzor case. Very nice . And knowing you actually made a wooden button is excellent. I would rather watch left handed work, most are done by right hand ❤
I think the scissor case stitches look so pretty and I rushed off mid video to get some paper to try the sweet little origami box, I managed to make one, and of course need to try a fabric one now too hehe, it has all come together so well, with the glove finger and beach finds, and the special closure, All the work was so worth the finished Hussif . 🤗😍🌱🌈🌟
I got it Barbara! I've sent you a message on Instagram... Thank you so much...you could have knocked me down with a feather 🪶 I went out the front to prune the dogwood and there it was. You're a total star ✨😊
A few years ago in a small museum in my town (kantmuseum in Horst.. lacemuseum) there was an exhibition with Chinese clothes and books origami style. The books are made of a tick paper or fabric coverd in wax. The clothes are also waxed and very stiff. When I see you making the thread box I was thinking about it. The waxed fabric hold the folds very well. I bought a book in the museum about folding all kinds of boxes and books. I must look for it...a new thing on my to do list. I love the scissors case and the button. The silk shirt for 3 euro...that is cheap. Good buy, and the other fabric too. Thank you for sharing.
That sounds like a very interesting book Marjan. You'll have to let me know the title. Maybe I can find one. Interesting about the fabric being waxed too. I almost thought mine wasn't going to work in fabric, but all of a sudden it just seemed to fall into place ☺️
I love everything you make Marion. I recently made myself a needle book and for friends but I will definitely need a Hussif just for embroidery. I received my beautiful bag yesterday so thank you for that. I love that it has the bow and arrow on. Karen B x
What a lovely story of the bow and arrow. I have a pin tray with the mouse on and visited a church with the pews. I want to change my signature too now.- bit too late though! xx
How wonderful Penelope! I'd definitely think I was lucky if I had something from the mouse man. Is it something you were given? As for the signature... I've had many years since I started using my bow and arrow!

I love paper gadgets. I'm going to try to make mine bigger, maybe 4 inch square using a sturdy cloth, maybe denim. The quilt club is going to like this for retreats.
Sounds good!
Thanks again Marion love everything you make ❤❤
Loved your story. And the little fabric box is amazing…just like you
I'm blushing...
Wow Marion 🤦♀️, button from a tree stick…. You are very talented and creative ❤
Necessity made me think of alternatives years ago and it just becomes a habit 😊
It was such fun watching you stitch. Thank you for your story too. Loved it 🥰
Marion, fabulous video, how lovely your scissor holder is and I lOVE the little thread box, well done for working that out. Glad to hear you had a nice break with Naomi and her partner
😊💐
I love the scissors case. Brilliant creation all around.😊
💐
Thank you for another lovely video. I love the idea of making do with what I have… I like simplicity yet complexity you bring to your work. Your ideas are just amazing. I am drawn to your channel and absolutely love listening to you. Thank you. 😊
Thanks so much Vickie 💐
Marion, I've seen a few of these husifs by different makers, but yours is absolutely the most lovely and inspiring❤
Thanks for that 💐 I think because mine was intended to be a needle case originally it's ended up quite nicely compact, but with room for everything 😊
😊💐🪡🧵
Marion you are such a brave woman to paint over that fabric but I totally get that. Make do and use what you have is mostly my motto too. Your Scissor keeper is truly gorgeous! I do Love your Maid Marion story too how lovely your story is. I have often wondered what the significance of your arrow was as I always admired it too. Thank You for sharing with us.
Well I'd had that fabric for ages and it hadn't been used yet... Now it's found a purpose 😊
Wow, this fabric origami looks miraculous!
Oh dear..more snow ❄️
Wonderful. Please keep on videoing and sharing your beautiful creations! ❤🙏🏼❤️
👍😊
Lovely tutorial Marion .I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it Your ideas are so original don't know how you come with them. I'm eagerly awaiting your next tutorial.
I love all your Huswif accessories.❤
I had the same idea for the fabric collapsing box, but could not figure out HOW. Thank you so much, Marion! ❤ Do you think it would work well in organza?
It's worth watching the linked video. The instructions for getting the correct sizes are easy to follow. But once I'd made it in paper I thought it was easier to just use that as my template..
Love this…again, necessity the mother of invention. Thanks for showing two making one for more durability with sharp scissors.
Sharp points really do need a tight weave so they don't poke holes every time you put them into the case...
Goodness you have a lot of patience when it comes to fiddling with complex things. I tend to give up too quickly if things are difficult as I lose faith in my abilities. It’s a confidence thing that I need to work on 😂
Just think of the satisfaction when you see something through though...
Fantastic! I love a good stick button 😊
You r so talented & I love the story about your bow & arrow. Thank you, Maid Marion
☺️ 🏹
What a lovely story about how your signature came about...love your videos only recently discovered it...enjoy everything you do...all the best with all your ideas hopefully they will all materialize into beautiful treasures 🎉sounds a bit like me.😂 just not enough time in the day to do it all.❤
I hope so too 🪡🧵
Happy Easter to you xx
And to you Susan 💐😊
What a wonderful scissors keeper you have created and your ort/thread envelope. So inspiring Marion.💕
I LOVE the little thread box idea! I’m going to try it myself. 😊
👍 I'd recommend giving the paper one a try first to get the hang of the folding. But it definitely works just great in fabric..☺️
Another wonderful tutorial...I enjoy so much watching all you share😊. Thank you, thank you. X
Lovely story about your beautiful signature!
Oh, I love the scissors holder and the thread box. I am so excited to watch you create all the ideas in your head ♥
Thanks again for the lovely video. l loved the idear of making your own button out of a piece of wood.
I'll maybe incorporate it into a future video...
Awesome Huswif❤
Love the story about your bow and arrow! TFS
🏹☺️
Love your hussif scissor case and thread catcher pure genius. The green silk looks amazing. Hope you managed some time in the garden ❤️
I've managed to prune some more roses, but it's rained here the past few days 🌧️
Hallo Marion,
This is so very beautifully done. Your treadkeeper🥰🥰 I,m gonna make one to. Thank you🙏🏼❤
👍🧵🪡
I am enjoying your instructions for scizzor case. Very nice .
And knowing you actually made a wooden button is excellent. I would rather watch left handed work, most are done by right hand ❤
👍💐
Love the bow and arrow story 😊
😊
I think the scissor case stitches look so pretty and I rushed off mid video to get some paper to try the sweet little origami box, I managed to make one, and of course need to try a fabric one now too hehe, it has all come together so well, with the glove finger and beach finds, and the special closure, All the work was so worth the finished Hussif . 🤗😍🌱🌈🌟
It definitely was Kim. I'm so pleased I got round to making it.. sometimes things are in my mind for ages before they get made!
Check your front door. The Easter bunny on her way to Witton Castle left you a surprise. Happy Easter and thank you for your wonderful videos xx
I got it Barbara! I've sent you a message on Instagram...
Thank you so much...you could have knocked me down with a feather 🪶
I went out the front to prune the dogwood and there it was.
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏 very nice Marion. HAPPY EASTER 🐣 🐇 🌼 🌸 🐰 💓
And to you Pam 🐰
I love everything you make Marion. I recently made myself a needle book and for friends but I will definitely need a Hussif just for embroidery. I received my beautiful bag yesterday so thank you for that. I love that it has the bow and arrow on. Karen B x
That's brilliant Karen. And now you know why I put the bow and arrow on too 😊💐
What a lovely story of the bow and arrow.
We bought the pin tray but I can't remember where from! Too late for me for a new signature but I wish I'd thought of it!@@marionsworld24
