As much as I agree you should always put forth a counter arguement and play devils advocate, the problem with Rory is that he doesn't play devils advocate and go "look lets explore whats happens if X happens instead of Y" Rory goes "nah mate its going to be X because it is X and that's what I believe" then when he gets proved wrong hides behind the idea of playing devils advocate. Playing devils advocate doesn't mean you project it as your view, you install it within a debate as a talking point to draw a conclusion from not as the conclusion.

Main reason for the pushback on Haaland prediction - *why* did Rory make it: when Haaland was linked to Chelsea, Rory made videos saying he was the real deal.

Haaland scores for any team because he uses his build so well. He’s tall, quick, strong, and a bit athletic as well. It’s the perfect build for a striker and he knows how to handle it. The goal against Dortmund and the last goal against Palace are perfect examples.
Werner was never able to do this. He had really good pace but almost always decided to take the ball out wide given the opportunity.
Rory just believes in Bundesliga tax because its two biggest subjects are both Chelsea players, Werner and Havertz, and the bias reeks in his judgement of future Bundesliga players, including Haaland.

James uses stats, tactics, structure, psychology, etc to break down his thoughts and feelings on football taking time to develop what he thinks, whilst Rory is all emotion, quick to come to conclusions, uses history as a point to argue from, and then finds certain stats to relay those stances further etc.

James isn’t so great either but he’s definitely more tolerable than Rory. He’s a low-key city hater as well (biased). He said there was a small set of data but look at halaands record in ucl. At the same age Ronaldo and messi had like 0 goals and halaand had like 20ish goal. Absolutely insane. I’m not saying halaand is the same level but he’s definitely taking over and was being talked in the same sentence as mbappe but then when he came city everyone was saying he will flop and comparing him to nunez, not that nunez is bad even though he hasn’t shown he’s good yet but these lot were giving so much hate to halaand. If halaand was getting hate then imagine what nunez deserves who actually has a small set of data. 😂James is not the guy either but he’s tolerable. By the way I think nunez will be fine as well but halaand is definitely generational. Anyways watch TIFO for true football analysis. This is just comedy/parody 😂

@W2L he is…. The only opinion worth listening to on football on RUclips is pato from football daily (joe and hemal are alright) but the best is likely TIFO. James always doubts city, even tho with back to back prems…. You can say they’ve spent money or whatever but what you can’t deny is the fact city are the best in the league and comfortably. Maybe he hasn’t recently I’m not sure because I’ve stopped watching him but I know when I used to watch him he used to hate on them low-key and then find silly stats when what he meant to say was he just doesn’t like them because they’re rich and have so much success and his team isn’t. Most if not all of football fans have jumped on that bandwagon. They want city to fail so badly but if you’re a RUclips content creator that’s focused on football analysis then it’s fair to say you shouldn’t be biased but he may be changed but oh well. I’m just stating my opinion but I don’t really come here to actually understand football from James and Rory. This is just comedy but actual football analysis is done by TIFO

We have 2 per positions but when our richards breaks his leg, our cb gets injured for months in game 2 so we r left with 4 when we play 3 at the back, we had to get boly. We have accounted for injuries happening if we didn’t we would get slated for it.

Rory is weird, he goes on he expected Jesus to hit the ground running that Arsenal have beaten all the teams he expected them to beat yet then names him as his player of the month. Its all a bit of hypocrisy. Yet he thought Haaland wouldn't do well and smashed the goals and still doesn't give him the credit he deserves. He really is jealous of City having Haaland isn't he?

Rory is a top guy to say what he said😂. Haaland is not good because he plays for man city, man city bought him because he is that good. He scored for a very mediocre and shaky dortmund. And broke the ucl goal record while playing for salzburg. Man city are a phenomenol team, but not all striker will have that edge over the opposition to convert all chances.

I believe Rory mainly made that take on Haaland due to failed Chelsea attackers.
I think particularly he believed Haaland would be a Norwegian version of Lukaku simply because they are both tall left footed brutes.
I think similarly he thought in Man City's technical system Haaland may struggle with his first touch eg. Like the issues he saw with Lukaku.
The issue being "yes" Haalands touch may not be on the level of world class dribblers but it's still much better than that of Lukaku's with Haaland also possessing much better agility and body control under pressure.

The difference with comparing Bundesliga players from the prem and comparing all the ones that came from that league to city is a massive difference. Not one player from that league has flopped at city. Gundo, KDB, haaland, Nigel de Jong, sane, kompany, dzeko. Not one player flopped

Kagawa was another. Around 2010-15 The Bundesliga was the second best league to La liga. In times when you had Leicester winning the Prem. No called out premier league tax then. When United and City were dropping out the champions league group into Europa and Arsenal were getting 10-2 but it’s fine tho

Some comments on what was discussed:
Leciester are in a tough spot. Vardy their “talisman” but he’s not good enough anymore and their biggest mistake is not being mature enough to move on and find a replacement or actually trust Daka / Nacho. They’ve lost some key players in their GK Schmeichel and Fofana etc.. Maddison can’t carry them with his injuries. Brendan is an OK manager - how you imagine old Villa level to be kind of 8-10th.
Mitro at Fulham > Mitro at Chelsea. For me Chelsea is a team that forces their striker to play around the team, rather than the other way round. Mitrovic IMO would be far worse at Chelsea because right now Fulham play around Mitro. Like Liverpool did when they had Suarez at his peak etc. I’m not comparing the two but Chelsea would make Mitro worse and that’s why they have this “striker curse”.
Player of the month has to be Haaland. You CANNOT score 9 goals and 1 assist with two back to back hatricks and not win. The fact there is even a debate or “considering” Jesus is absolutely ridiculous.

there are two things i would like to pick out.
    1. James said that city are going to in some games destroy teams trying to find Haaland but in some they will lose trying to find him because of bad luck but clearly I dont think it like that. Haalands off ball contribution are underrrated . he attracts defenders due to which other players like wingers or midfielders like KDB or Gundogan will get in those spaces and score.
    2. Rory got another prediction wrong apart from the outrageous Haaland one , is that rory said MASON MOUNT will be player of the season which was outrageous . like he said Haaland will flop and MASON MOUNT will be player of the season. who is going to take his opinions seriously after this

He had to be salty because he didnt go to chelsea or just going against the flow so he could look like a genius if it happened which everyone with over 10 IQ knew would never happen. Haaland has been scoring for fun ever since 17 years old then went up a level done the same and repeat. He is a goalscoring machine

I don't know how Rory can say Rodgers couldn't do it at a club like Arsenal. Rodgers was a Stevie G slip away from giving Liverpool a Premier League title. He's gone to Leicester and their scouting has just not been what it was 4 or 5 years ago so he's not backed with any decent targets.
