The normal spray bottle will leave dots since these tend to squirt bigger drops of bleach, whereas the diffuser creates a fine mist that covers the fabric more evenly. Imagine trying to paint something with a normal water spray bottle vs a can of spraypaint. Hope that explains it :)

The results of the orange/brown/rust would depend on how the manufacturer giving color to the fabric
Try white fabric spray paint brother. Spray it at a good distance then put it in the washer machine.
