People think this sucks now but back in 1993 people were really impressed with this because no-one had scene movie-like footage in video games before and Full Motion video wasn't even heard of until the Sega CD was made and released. This goes to show how much of a groundbreaking and revolutionary invention the Sega CD was. The Devs at Sega were true prophets of there time.

I do feel its a bit of a waste you never get to see most of the storyand cinematics because youre so busy catching bad guys though. Same problem with Night Trap, wished they timed ot out a bit and gave you a break or had a cinema or movie mode once you beat the game.

Was wondering when this would show up! Amusing game, especially since it has the late Corey Haim, Lee R. Ermey (drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket) and Debbie Harry (lead singer of Blondie). As far as repetition goes, this is kind of expected with these games. Night Trap had the same thing. But it still is funny seeing people go into traps regardless.
To make sure we finally understand the story. You are in an apartment complex called the Edward Arms, which was built by the famous industrialist Lionel Atwater Edward III at the turn of the 20th Century. Built following an archaeological expedition to the Valley of the Kings, the building has an ancient Egypt theme and is rumored to hide a valuable statue of Isix (named after the precursor to Digital Pictures) stolen by Edward during his expedition. You are an anonymous, silent protagonist, contacted via video call by the current owner of the Edward Arms, a young man named Eddie. Eddie says that he has equipped the building with cameras and traps to protect the tenants from the local criminal element, but one of the tenants has locked him in the basement. He gives you control of the cameras and traps and directs you to protect the tenants, trap the handyman Lyle whenever possible, and find the security codes to get him out. After you acquire all the security codes, Eddie confides in you that one of the tenants is a killer. When he emerges from his basement prison, Eddie runs into Lyle and Elizabeth, the building's manager. Eddie and Lyle's argument reveals that Eddie is mentally unhinged, that Lyle and Elizabeth are his parents, and that Lyle locked him in the basement to keep him from doing harm to himself or others. Each tenant has their own plot line that overlaps into the main plot. Alex, a journalist fresh out of college, enthusiastically investigates the many dangerous goings-on. Laura, an aspiring architect, and Phoebe, an archaeology student, share a room and have acquired a unique Egyptian statue. Another room is occupied by Scream, a hard rock band in search of a record deal. Brutus is an aging mobster whose father worked on the construction of the Edward Arms. His father told him of gold concealed in the building, and Brutus wants to find it so he can pay off a debt to a dangerous mob boss. Elizabeth is trying to rekindle her relationship with Lyle. Though Lyle is held back by fears that any children they have will turn out like Eddie, he ultimately yields to her seductions. Members of a secret society infiltrate the Edward Arms and go after Phoebe and Jeff as soon as they spot them with the statue. They escape and Jeff hides the statue in his room just before an A&R man arrives to audition Scream. One of the secret society attacks Jeff during the audition, but you use a trap to save him and the A&R man decides to give Scream the label's fullest support. Meanwhile, Lyle goes around the building showing you dangerous traps that Eddie either did not know about or chose not to share with you. Lyle rewires these traps to give you control so that you can stop Eddie. The building's killer appears dressed as a mummy. He herds the tenants into reach of the traps and tries to spring the traps using a remote control. You save the tenants, and as the mummy is locked into a chair trap, Alex and Phoebe take the remote control away and unmask the mummy as Eddie. Enraged, Eddie vows to kill everyone in the building. Alex and Phoebe petition Elizabeth for help, but Elizabeth is in denial of Eddie's problems. Angered by the girls' accusations, she locks the Edward Arms's entrance, trapping the tenants inside. Aided by your trapping Eddie, the girls reunite with Laura and Jeff. Jeff suggests that Brutus likely has a gun that they can use to protect themselves. They find Brutus in his room, where Eddie attacks them, but you trap him again and return him to his basement prison. Elizabeth takes the statue from the girls and explains that Eddie had figured out that the statue is actually a key which transforms the entire Edward Arms into a giant treasury. The tenants stare in unified awe at the riches on display. Afterwards, Eddie takes the statue out of the lock to the treasury, resealing it.
I have the PC game of this and just tried to play it on my Windows 10 computer...sadly it will not work. I never did get to the end of it, but thanks to this I can now see what happens...I'm glad I didn't get to the end because I love Corey Haim and wanted to rescue him not keep him trapped in the basement!
Retroarch is an awesome all in one emulator for android and I think ios too. Just go to google play and type in retroarch. The setup is kinda tricky initially but its totally worth it.

I like Double Switch It's a good video game on the Sega Cd and now it's on Nintendo Switch and I think FMV video games are interesting even though most people don't like it

Like all these FMV U Direct Games this game Sucks, it makes no sense and is too damn hard to do anything in the game or proceed very far in it, you have to some how guess which traps to set off and which rooms to set them off in at a particular time and there is no rhyme or reason on how to do that. No wonder Sega lost billions and failed and had to resort to just making software for other systems and maybe still be in the Arcade Hardware business with those stupid machines you try to get prizes out of like that UFO Catcher crane type game. Maybe Night Trap is good because it's a cult classic or something, such cheesy acting it's fun to play it to make fun of the cheesy acting. Sega Fucked up on the Sega CD, Saturn and even the Dreamcast because they spent too much on the other failed systems so could not support the Dreamcast and how they left it valuable to hacking and people on day one already knew how to get around it's security and boot leg games, you don't even need to MOD it to play burned Discs.
