I came here after reading an article that says their DNA results didn’t identify them with any ties to the Middle East but racist Israel just wanted to expand their territories. If you wish to be Jewish and your mother isn't Jewish or you cannot prove that your mother is Jewish for some reason, then you must convert, regardless if you are already a practicing raised Jewish person. This is the religious law called Halakah and this is the law that the Rabbis pronounce. It is not for you to stick in your two cents on this or me or anyone. The Jewish religious law is the halakah and the deciders of that law are the very educated and learned rabbis that stand in the stead of Moses, the ultimate rabbi teacher. So it doesn't matter what you or I think. It matters what the relgious law says about the case of the bnei manashe and what the rabbis say it says. The rabbis have ruled that bnei menashe may come to Israel under the law of return but must convert by the Rabbinate to Judaism to be accepted as part of the Jewish family. That is it. The Bnei Menashe do not complain. They understand that the rabbis deciding this stand in Moses stead and a ruling on Halakah. And so they accept and know that this for them will be very easy because they already meet the requirements of the rabbis and the halakah for conversion living a Jerwish life, knowledgeable in Jewish history, philosophy, etc. This is really not your affair.
