Ok friends! Here is a compilation of the footage from where we are at with the deck rebuild. Because we were keeping part of the deck intact (saving what was salvageable), we basically had to keep the same design/blueprint. We reused some of the joists/sections of the joists alongside the stuff I've milled over the past 2 months. This was a bit tricky as all the lumber was a bit different, so we had to accept variances along the way.
The first week we began the rebuild, Dilly (our hired carpenter) was on another job for that week, so Steve and I had to start without him.
Anyway, I embraced my chainsaw skills to work the timbers into the posts (and in the video I explain where the title comes from 🤭), and just like that, all the stuff I milled is gone!
We got as far as we could with the plywood, but I need to hit the mill again before we can proceed any more with this project.
Thanks for watching, and see you in the next one!

Side note - I had an issue with conflicting resolutions in this video, so basically it chose to format and download in the lowest resolution. I couldn’t figure out how to fix that entire situation, so unfortunately the quality of this video isn’t up to par. Maybe some of you won’t notice, but those that do - I’m sorry! I’m not super tech savvy and this stuff is a bit of a struggle for me.

I will call this episode Timber frame deck rebuild (Ft. Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl): "There's wood chips in my boobs!" "Yee-haw!" 😂😂😂
22:23 ❤
Very cool that you're getting into sponsorship with LMNT! They've been my choice for electrolytes for a while now. Hope to see them sponsoring more videos. The Barbie with a Chainsaw is so appropriate! Nice to see Steve is up and at'em recovering from his surgery. I don't recollect his joking around in many videos so he must be feeling pretty good (or perhaps the pain meds are really helping!😆) Can we get more pics of your hockey day's & growing up!?! Either here or on IG. I had no idea you played hockey.
❤🐾❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾 I see Clyde Bear what does he have?😅
@@Ruby-gd9kb It looks like a shag carpet steering wheel cover😂😂😂
Steve killing the ants was the greatest. Thanks for the laugh!
I've done that before... wasps, bees, ants, roaches, just about every kind of insect... EVICTION!!!
"Thats Toxic!" "Thats what you want...!" I laughed my ass off...
just. the regular plywood wow after all work you did !!!
Next time Steve should dissolve a couple tablespoons of Borax (think 20 Mule Team Borax) in a quart of warm water and spray it on all surfaces where ants may crawl. Safe for humans and pets, deadly for insects.
One in a million is what I call you, hard working, energetic, entertaining. Don’t forget easy on the eyes. Amazing you are hands on with getting the tasks done you take on. Your a very impressive lady.
Plus getting all your wifey duty’s done inside the house because Steve says it why he has you. Lol.
Thanks for share the adventures
Glad to see Steve’s improvements in his health
Michelle is much rarer than 1 in a million! She's a 1 of a kind beauty, who can wield a big chainsaw, and can handle all thing sharp, cutty and pokey like...
Nothing at all like a mass stamped out 1-dimensional Barbie doll produced by veneer-thin Hollywood. - And, she can handle a hockey puck on ice skates at speed (but then, Canadians are born with iceskates on, aren't they?) You have my utmost respect as a sporting athlete, as I definitely missed that gene, but am an enginner, musician, photographer and airplane flying aviator! Love your work and video entertainment. You always make my Monday's down in the South Pacific more tolerable! David ❤
Chainsaw Barbie! Excellent! Why didn't we think of that sooner? This could be a whole new model of Barbie with you as the inspiration! You guys are making great progress on that deck and it's fun to watch... as long as Steve goes easy and safe.
Ms "Roxy" you are amazingly tallented and what a tophy you are to us all. Love the many many projects you bring to us and most of all your sense of humor.
I have never seen foam being eatin up like that holy crap!!! ... Amazing!... What a crappy thing to happen all that rot!!... good job everyone and Barbie and Ken and Steve!...
going to watch Mars Water bomber final flight!
Using the chainsaw on the posts is one of my old tricks, brought back memories, l am retired now and enjoy watching other people do it. Nice job
Chainsaw Barbie !
love the plunge cuts!
Chainsaw Barbie seems legit. 😎. I’m glad you found the ant home. Steve’s humor when destroying the ants had me rolling. 😂 Glad to hear he’s doing better, he’s a warrior for sure.
I love the last image of your vid of Lenny the dog. He seems to be mocking death by assuming the dying cockroach position. Lenny-what a dog!!❤❤❤❤
Good to see Steve moving around better. Thanks for the video 🐾🍺
Kudos to Steve on the mend. He looked very well moving at a good pace for stenosis surgery. Michelle, your at you best using your muscles and keeping gorgeous and extremely fit. Lots of heavy and hard work and off the ground. Big timber boards for long lasting strength. The ending of this video gave me smiles on all your still shots. Beautiful and stunning. Hugs from Santa Barbara 🤗🥰🌹😎👏🙏👋🍷
My doctor told me to exercise. I said I work a lot. He said work isn't exercise. I guess he's kind of right about that.
steves gotta good sense of humor, luv it!
Steve is just plain lucky to have you and I'm sure that you feel the same about him. Love to you both.
Love the truck load of your precious Dogs!! Your last photos were very suggestive ! Dog on its back
Love this episode. Not only was it awesome to see Steve get back into the fray in his own capacity but I never get tired of watching you rock out the labor needed to get a job done! Good on you both!
Amazing. No other word for it. Absolutely amazing. Every bit. And so good to see Steve back in action. All the best. 🥰
Most Impressive! Well thought out and beautifully executed. Nice to see Steve moving a lot freer, surgery a success I think. Working outside under a hot sun, dehydration is a constant threat, aggressive and frequent countermeasures are required; forget about that "sparkling electrolyte water" carry on and instead, DRINK BEER.
It's a PLEASURE to watch your videos .. great views, music, humor, and more .. Ken and Barbie .. lol Steve is doing good! Thank you!
Another great video.
Anyone who has not attempted precision wood joinery with a chainsaw would not appreciate "Barbie with a chainsaw"'s amazing skill. This is amazing work!!
You and Steve are a great team, and both very talented. I would be happy to be half the man he is.
I was on my mower, half a mile into the woods, when I smelled Barbie sweat and 2-stroke fumes. Raced back to the house for... MG VIDEO!!! 🥰
Great to see our favorite comedian working, joking, and laughing!
Thanks, MG! You're the best.
Such a fun and funny video. The coordination between the rhythm of the music and fast motion movements was awesome, so much so that I laughed hard enough I couldn't watch through tearing up. Good to see Steve making great strides toward his recovery. The new deck will be a thing of beauty. Now, about that slice of heaven overlooking the lake....Mmmm?
Love the song at the end LOL very fitting. You're sure more than a trophy wife.... You're incredible. Thanks for the great videos.
The dog scenes are amazing. Please consider including them as a necessary feature of every Michygoss. Thank you…….
Yes you are easy on the eyes but you are a strong and smart woman that knows how to do things and I want to thank you for the videos and I love ❤️ the cabins and everything you build ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Girl you are tops the best I've ever seen. I wish I had one like you. My wife and I always done things together, putting up fence post running barbwire for cattle, clearing land for pastures. Building barns, sheds, decks. She was my helper my right-hand man. Those days are gone but you make me think of them a lot. Love you and your videos. THANK YOU. It's great to see Steve out and about don't let get too feisty and hurt himself. I know you won't. Well, I am just rambling y'all are doing a great work there. Take care and be safe. Keep the videos coming.
Best looking barbie Legs in Canada. Very happy to see Steve up and moving again. Princess you rock that chain saw LOL.....I always look forward to your videos....Take care lovely lady.
Glad to see Steve up and about!
Barbie you are hard working lady, well done.
You, Michelle, are an amazing worker! You are like one of the early Canadians, opening up the wild country! Glad to see getting better! Enjoy rest of summer, and I hope with clean, smoke-free air!
Hi guys ! Great to see Steve helping ! Ants , good golly ! Seen this before at homes . Never thought you were a hockey player Michelle ! Wow ! You sure are a girl with multiple talents . Good luck with this project .
You are an amazing wife…great video…glad to see Steve up and around..take care. 👍🇨🇦 Naramata
PS - I loved your choice of music on this one. Especially, "I take what I want!"
Definitely not a trophy wife but you definitely deserve a trophy for the hard yards you put in. Great update video thanks for sharing 😊
Good to see Steve getting out and about even if part time, the deck is looking awesome, as well as Barbie with the chainsaw.😄 Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for mentioning "Surviving Ringworm" Michell. I just started watching them, they are great! And you are certainly a trophy wife in the traditional sense (I consider myself fortunate to be married to a beautiful girl as well} and so much more. We all love you as our slightly wacky but incredibly competent hard working cousin/sister! Even though I've worked alone in construction all my live you continue to inspire me. I'm well versed in all areas of construction, please feel free to reach out to me for any questions you may have.
I'm one of the 90% who enjoys every aspek of these videos😍
Whew!! Lots of work! 🤐 Those precious animals..❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for Steve's comedian clips. He is feeling better. 😊
Good Grief! Barbie! Watching You Lift & Place Those Ledger Beams & Deck Joist Beams! Goodness! There Is No Doubt It! You Are An Amazing Women!!
Another entertaining video! Nice work on the deck. I replaced mine after 17 years due to rotting beams caused by mulch cutting off air flow. Now we have rocks surrounding the ground-level boards. I always enjoy your projects and great video creations. Looking forward to more of them!
Great to see Steve getting back to his new normal. I hope those are not carpenter ants, that's not good. "Barbie with a chainsaw"! too funny!!
What a vid loved it. And plz dont let anyone tell you ,you are a trophy wife. Millions on woman would love to do what you do!!!! Your an inspiration to them and all of us. I'm a 51 year old man and would never be able to do what you do. ps What a beautiful place and country you live in!!!! Keep it up and can't wait for the next vid.
Michelle, it's good to see the deck coming along. Hopefully, you'll have it done soon. It's also good to see Steve up and moving around. It's like you can't keep an old dog down for long. Be safe on that scaffolding! Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
I enjoyed that deck rebuild very much. Thank you
Deck looks great! Love seeing the dogs having fun! 🐾❤️
I would add "Bad ass Barbie with a chainsaw". Being a retired carpenter myself, the only suggestion I would make is you might want to use treated plywood. I think they still call it marine plywood. Good video. Treated decking is always nice too.
Nice to see Steve joking around the ants 😀
Not surprised to find out about your athletic background. Really enjoyed this video. Your editing skills are getting better and better!.
OMG, his sense of humor is back! Yay, Steve!
Steve's commentating on the ants was simply hilarious good to see him at it but taking care of himself And you too. It's looking good can't wait for you guys to enjoy it!! And Oh my the pups can't say enough about them!! Thanks for sharing .Till the next one peace and happiness 👍👍
You are an amazing lady! Beautiful, and talented, and I love how you care for the animals. Steve is a lucky man.
MAKING GREAT PROGRESS MICHY OR DO WE CALL YOU CHAINSAW BARBIE 😊👍. HAVE A GOOD WEEK AND COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS.
You're much better than any Barbie and in all categories. If they could put you in a box and sell you the shelves would always be empty and stores not able to keep enough of you in stock! Glad we all have you virtually.
OK, Steve's voice spraying the ants cracks me up.....because I use the same voice for stuff like this!🤣
Damn, I'm doing a great job supervising this porch rebuild 👍
Great teamwork gets the job done.
Good to see Steve back on his feet
Holy Schamoley! Seems like it's time to place some cans around the property with some baking powder and honey cornbread mix (2:1) around the house, consider it a tasty eviction notice for any future pests!
Woodchips on a Barbie!
Awesome job
Ants love that poly iso!
Had no idea! I thought they just loved wet wood!
Michelle, I'm glad Dilly finally realized you're more than just a pretty face, you're the total package: brains, beauty and ambition. Your subscribers already know! Oh, and I love the music in this video!
👏Yay, Steve's back. Good on ya mate.
Michy, I love your style. A Jill (Barbie) of all trades.
Deck is looking great. Love it. John from Oz.
Nothing like daddy getting the job done! ⚒️🪚🔧
Gotta say I love the summer bleached blonde look!
Hello my dear.
Another fantastic video. Excellent deck rebuild. Glad steve is healing and able to help. Always take time to run with the dogs and rejuvenate yourself. Just for the record, there's something special about seeing you in powersaw chaps and almost daisy duke's that make my day better. ❤❤❤😘😘😘
I love that shot of Lenny at the end. He's my favorite!
❤
You add a whole new definition to "trophy wife". First place in every category.
Hi Michelle. Deck coming along, looks great. Your looking gorgous as always! Great seeing Steve is doing better. Gteat music and editing. Till next week...stay safe and happy. G❤😊
Great work Barbie!
You were an athlete - you are now both Beauty and the Beast in one, and very entertaining to boot! Love the videos and the inspiration you provide me to get out and make stuff.
Hello Michèle, this is an impressive project. Well done to both of you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋
Hi Michelle, Steve, Pups 🐾🐶, and 🐈⬛too😊👋🏻 Thank you, hope all is well, stay safe and take care my friends 🙏🏻God Bless 🫶🏻Appreciate you always! Have a wonderful day 🌞
Always love and enjoy your channel , great to see Steve up and running. Stay safe healthy and free ❤👍🏼🙏🐕😘
It was so funny when Steve was dealing with the ants. The rebuild of the deck is coming along . slowly. And seeing the dogs at the end of the video was great
Like so many others have commented, Michelle you are one hard working lady. Glad to see Steve recovering and hopefully soon he can get back to his boat. Keep up the great videos.
Have I told you lately how amazing you are. I look forward to your videos, they make my week complete.
Michelle, you are officially "The Wood Warrior Goddess"
Well... I thought that Ken only did Beach! But you now have made a Deck Ken . Good Job Barbie!! Love how Clyde was in the window behind you as you worked. Lenny just looks happier and happier all the time. What a project, too bad Steve is such a grumpy landlord evicting those poor hard-working ants in a ruthless way. HA!!.
@@nancybrown2700 Lenny ❤️
Your timber frame deck rebuild is incredibly impressive, showcasing both your craftsmanship and creativity. Having Barbie join the adventure with a chainsaw adds a touch of fun and whimsy to the project, making it all the more memorable. Your dedication to transforming the space is truly inspiring. And I am Floating Village Life.
Your best video yet, great content with great music. That framing is being done correctly and will last a long time. Those carpenter ants are a pain. I hope you got them all.
Wow!! The deck is an enormous undertaking. Congratulations to everyone. Nice to see Steve closer to normal. Love the music and your editing😘. And of course, the pups & cat❤. Stay safe and stay well. 😎🤙🏻✌🏻🤟🏻🖖🏻
Yay Steve is back !!! Good for you guys. I hope his recovery is going well !!! I use a Shopvac for ants or any bug for that matter !!
That was a great video! 🎉
The two parts I enjoyed the most were near the end. The jazz music timed with the chain saw post cutout work and the time lapse clouds during the decking segment. So cool.😀
So glad to see yall redoing the deck,so much too do,looks nice! The carpenter ants aren't fun,but Steve did an awesome job of killing them! Lol. Good to see him up and working beside you Michy. Love the animals, music!
Great progress on the framing on the deck. It is good to see Steve moving around better.
Stepping off the scaffold onto ladder totally sketch, but second after I thought it I said exact way I woulda done it too. Haha. Great work, great vid...
Glad to see Steve healthy. And to see u climbing up the ladder in those shorts😂😂😂😂
Great job on the rebuilding of the deck and rot. Good thing you are taking the time to fix it right. Steve looked pretty mobile now which is good. If you hadn't posted pics of the dogs, I would have given you crap. You saved yourself. :)
Good to have you back Steve. Love your sense of humor.
You display more self-confidence now. Your abilities have always been there. Let no Ken tell you otherwise. Thank you for sharing. It is good to see Steve more mobile.
Trophy Wife Wanted - Must have chain saw, hammer and be able to operate heavy equipment. Logging and deck building skills a plus! Must look good in a dress.😊 (Deck looks great!)
I'm sure Dilly now appreciates and admires your skills and work ethic. I was exhausted just watching all the effort you put into constructing the deck in this video. You're no Barbie, you're a SUPERWOMAN!
Steve looks like he's doing much better. Even offering a bit of comic relief while he was spraying the ants.
It was great to see all the fur babies having fun playing in the water at the end of your video. Seeing Clyde in the back of the truck with his jowls flaring in the wind was wonderful!
In one of your hockey photographs, you appear to have red hair. Is that your natural hair color? Imagining you with red hair and your blue eyes and widows peak is just over the top stunningly gorgeous. Yikes!
Thank you for another awesome video Michelle!
☮️ on 🌎
My hair used to be a reddish-brown, yes. Auburn, basically. What’s left of my natural colour still does carry a reddish undertone
Hi ya sweet. It's so good to see Steve up and about. Please look after yourself lifting all the wood you don't need back problems. Take care 😋
Nice plunge cuts on those post. That tough work.👌
I was the only one ‘qualified’ to do them, so once I did the first one, I got the hang of it. Now I feel quite confident to do them!
Never have I ever seen plywood installed on an outdoor deck.
It’s not done yet! Roofers will install a torch-on roof, then a floating deck on top.
@@michygoss7148I was wondering the same thing. I knew you had a plan! Glad Steve is recovering. You are such a hard worker.
@@michygoss7148 I'm being patient for the final result vs judgmental, but I'm slightly concerned for you, as an asphalt flat roof isn't subject to the external environment (humidity and insects) of a deck having open space beneath. I'm sure someone has already thought of this, so I'm curious to see the process unfold. As always, thank you for sharing another interesting project. 😃 I forgot to mention...mad props for the precision chainsaw cuts!
@@michygoss7148 I came here to ask about this too. SE USA I've never seen it. Up north it's probably done. The "roof" will give you a dry space underneath which is cool. It wasn't clear, but I assume you have a slight angle to the edge. Correct? Y'all did a great job.
warrior! plain and simple, really enjoy watching your tenacity and work ethic. Keep up the great videos and I look forward to your next one
Really enjoyed this video glad to see Steve doing better love your videos be safe
Chain saw Barbie meets the killer ants! What a lot of work. You're quite skilled with the chainsaws, among all the other tools as well. Nice progress.
