I remember riding this when I was 9 and I had my eyes closed the entire time because of how scary it was. This is my first time seeing the ride in its entirety and I know that I would have definitely left the ride crying if I had kept my eyes open. I loved the ride nonetheless.

Not sure why people are comparing this ride to the one in Orlando. Universal Studios Hollywood is an actual operating movie and television studio. It was never meant to be a theme park. Many of the attractions have to be built far enough away from studio and the backlot. Any roller-coaster rides and attractions built near the working studio area have to be contained inside a soundstage environment, which is basically how the Mummy ride is built, so that it does not disturb any movies or television shows shooting nearby. Same goes for Jurassic Park and Transformers: The Ride. So yes, Orlando is better. Hollywood just doesn't have the room for these roller-coaster monstrosities, nor do they want the noise that comes with it.
Also the reason why this is so short is because it replaced the ET dark ride. Which is a much smaller building than the kongfrontation building it took over in Florida
Let me tell you, the first time I rode this ride I was a mess (even though I was 16 at the time) I probably annoyed so many people with my ridiculous screaming. Even to this day when I return to the park I dread this ride... but I think it’s so well made and it is somewhat fun. Wish I had a stronger stomach 😭

Having been on the Mummys in both CA and FL... The CA one would be a really solid ride if it weren't for the end. It's not an ending, it just stops. I can't believe that Universal couldn't figure out a little magic to add to that turn table room to make it seem like more of a finale.

I thought it was a museum or something like that, do not blame me, at that time I had no idea of English, nor did I give myself to ask, so I told my parents that it would be fun, in the end it is one of the favorite movies of my father. When almost at the end ... I read: High-speed roller coaster. My parents almost killed me and we almost died in there. But it was a confusing and fun experience. I will never forget it😂🤷🏻♀️
I just rewatched the first movie today after about 10 years. Still can't believe I remembered some of the scenes. Then it got me thinking about this ride.
The one at Universal Orlando is VERY different. It is pitch black! It is muuuuuuch faster AND longer. Even the line going to the boarding area is dark, I don't know why they turned the lights out, I had trouble finding the stairs! But I can tell from this video that the Orlando version is a lot better.
I love this ride! always a go-to at Universal Studios Hollywood. a while back, at the end of the ride, they would spin us around in a cloud of fog/smoke ~ That was awesome ~ unfortunately, they no longer do that.. oh well... still love this ride

I miss it too. The room used to have a transformation and final big scare. It stopped working years ago and Universal created a cheaper B version of the room.
This ride is so much fun! Yesterday was the first day I'd been back in abt five or so years. I'm excited because I finally got annual passes so now I can go whenever I want even though its kind of a long drive . (1-2 hours) I can't decide whether this or Harry Potter and the forbidden journey is the best ride. They are both a lot of fun and get your adrenaline pumping

Looks good, but as a UOAP member I am obligated to mention that Orlando’s is superior. All joking aside, there are elements of both I’d like to combine, but overall this looks like a satisfactory experience.

the thing that i love and hated was the random jumpscares in the ride like the random falling skeletons like attacking the riders the nad in the end with the silence with the scream that scared me really much
I do agree they should have kept the back to the future ride - however it wasn’t the mummy ride that replaced it - it was that damn simpsons ride and that most definitely was a HUGE mistake.

We were there last September 2019 It was close to closing time and the park was clearing out for Halloween nights. We did this ride 3 or 4 times straight after each other. No lines. Get of the ride run around and get back on. I had to say no more I was starting to feel sick lol

I've been on 3 versions of this ride. The one in Florida & Singapore are the most a like. The Hollywood one is the same but has slight differences.
