#Elevator
#Lift
This was an encoder fault. The elevator did not know where it was in the shaft so the controller forced it to re learn its position in the shaft before letting the passenger off. This eliminates the issue of the elevator arriving at that floor improperly leveled. At least that is what this Schindler appeared to do.
I guess that this is one of my most favorite videos to watch! LOL! Anyways, if everyone is wondering, this is at the Mercedes-Benz Parking Garage in Sugar Land, TX. I've been on this elevator many many times and it had no issues.
epic faillllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Well, this is not the first incident involving a 3300 failure. Did anyone see the video from ElevatingDenver about Colorado's first 3300 failing and saying that it was due to battery problems?
*Why modern lifts aren't as reliable as vintage lifts:*
I hate to say it, but these types of lifts are primarily run using computer programs designed by the lift company themself. When you push the button, you're not really activating any mechanism on the logic. What really happens is you're running lines of code in the program to instruct the lift to run even more classes throughout the program & all those lines of computer code is what makes the lift get to the next floor.
WOW!!! This is a first! A malfunctioning Schindler 3300!
Same thing happened to me on a 9 story glass Fujitec on Saturday. I thought I was going to either (1) sink into the pit (2) crash through the roof of the building or (3) get stuck
Nathan Andrew Davis when I started going to the school in Batavia they had a really weird elevator like I remember one time I wrote it myself and it just kept going up and down up and down between two floors because that’s all we had and I just wouldn’t stop so after a while about three minutes or so It decided to let me out finally that’s what is good.
I almost got stuck in a 3300 in Kansas City.
First time I am witnessing an EPIC FAIL with Schindler's 3300!
DieselDucy i subscribed to your youtube channel! I lighted up that bell!
I like that emoji hat :*)
Haha, the elevator wanted to give you an extended ride!
Haha very true but I get this is a joke, what I think was the elevator improperly leveled and had to relevel, that's prob why it went back up.
I think what happened was a controller glitch. One of the reasons I like older elevators more is they wouldn't do something like this unless poorly maintained and the relays are caked in dirt or if it's An Autotronic or Selectomatic system, which are normally unpredictable like the one at the Board of Trade Building in Portland which did something very similar to me like what happened in this video!!!! Newer Elevators can be very unpredicatable, but 3300 is a nice model, and this sure did make the ride more interesting!!!!
That also what happened to me when I filmed the Otis elevator at Young Hall on University of Arkansas Pine Bluff. The elevator acted like someone called it from the 2nd floor and the elevator slowed down by then proceeded down to the first floor. It was weird.
Same thing happened on the 9 story glass fujitec i rode on saturday night
The Schindler 3300 is pretty nice, one thing I have discovered with newer lifts including the EcoDisc is that you're interacting with a giant block of *computer software* when riding in a lift. When you press the button, it calls a command in the code to go to a floor at a fixed rate. Then when it approaches the floor it references the part of the software which controls the acceleration of the lift. Then this code controls what speed the doors open & if it has intelligent leveling or not.
Whereas with old lifts, you're actually activating *relays* when you press buttons instead of playing with computer software.
Modern lifts are run by computers in essence, even the ThyssenKrupp lifts at the World Trade Cen
LittleRockElevators Mine does it too,but instead the first floor where is the office, just one cab can access the floor,it's pretty normal when you don't allow one cab to go at a certain floor
OMG Hi Julian big fan
I still think the chime of these sounds like a (broken) old clock cheaply sampled...
PIUR US uses always passing toward it's sample…
.
Its damn scsry too get stuck!
It ain't scary if u have a working phone & alarm.
Used this elevator in roblox.
I love Roblox
.
looks like a learning run...I remember seeing a video on RUclips about elevators by Deviant Olam (?) which mentioned that if the controller gets a wacky reading and forgets where the lift is, it will make a complete tip to bottom run of the shaft reading every trip to re-learn where each floor is.
I don't think so for 2 reasons.
1. The elevator went up to 3, then back down to 1 by itself. If it was a learn trip it more likely would have gone all the way up to 5.
2. A learn trip in many cases would be at a very slow speed.
I have heard that sometimes elevators can end up in a "semi position lost" state, where it knows what floors it is between, but it doesn't know where it is between those floors
Elevators at the end are scary but the main thing is you safe and you exited peacefully and thank god you didn’t get stuck
See this is why I fucking hate elevators. I'm scared weird shit happens, Gets malfunctioned, Gets stuck or it falls
Wow it’s rare to see a glitch like this happen
This Happened to me before too .it was a Otis series 1 elevator in a 2 story building , I was going down and it just stop didn't open , then went back up and then just went back down to the first floor then open.
1:00
Could it be doing a reboot? Although it would of gone to the top floor unless the upper floors have been removed from the controller?
That is very odd, and must've been a glitch in the controller
Reminds me of the Elmwood Parking elevator with US fixtures.
Weird bell
Floor chime sounded ill to me, like it was a bit distorted lol
Did you press the yoyo button?
Nice one Schindler! You turned your elevator into a ride!
That is not a bell it is someone banging a spoon on the bottom of a pan. That elevator is horrible and broken and not Otis.
Otis "software" logic was built in such a way that it is perfect & almost never fails. The program knows exactly what it wants to do & that's why new Otis lifts have proven reliability.
I have had that stuck in the elevator experience about 2 weeks ago! Also 2019 anyone?
The captive buttons look better than the designs we've got
I remember that elevator on JimLiElevators channel
My sisters apartment building has that same elevator but i had no problems with it
I think this is just a brainfart from the controller. This early otis series 1 at a macys (now abandoned) did a similar thing, it stopped at 1, did not open, then went back up to 2! The elevator did the same thing to patricknedz, except he pressed the door open button on 1.
Why would the elevator take you back up to the 3rd floor & it didn't open the door.
That happened to me once - but it was in a 2015 LUTZ elevator
it loves you
At least it took you on an extra round trip!
That's strange usually Schindler doesn't do that! 🤔 Now the Otis Series 5 hydraulic rides rough sometimes at my condo building in my area and I question sometimes will I get stuck! 😳😟
The same thing happens to an Otis Gen2 modern, some cabs were not programmed to go the office(1st floor) and when it stops there it goes down again
Sometimes when it doesn't know or you don't allow to go into a certain floor it does the thing in the video it's pretty normal to me,I get scared sometimes but I know what it is
at the end of your videos, when a video pops up press the button on the call station to make it light up and point to the video
Maybe the calls got stuck in the memory?
This elevator reminds me of my mom's video of a Schindler 3300 Elevator at a hotel .
Is this video your second Schindler 3300 Elevator? Dieselducy?
This is why I don't like elevators...and if I do I always bring water and snacks
It's the best elevator Schindler
When he said see you later he meant see you later lol
I had an almost similar experience with an OTIS Gen 2.
Basically going up from ground floor to 4th, when arriving to 4th floor it started to level it self but never finished it.
I'm not sure if I was a bit anxious or light headed, but it felt as if it was going a bit up and a bit down, trying to level it self with the floor.
After like a minute it gone down and stopped at a third floor and let me out.
Supernova How long it had installed?
IT’S A SCHINDLER 400A TRACTION ELEVATOR!
ok.
Go to 5. Why did you only go to 3?
New elevators with electronic logic can sometimes be finicky.
Ah, Schindler quality
Elevators, Trains, & more by nwa0714 Good that with the 3300's it's the very least often to happen these, the 330 and 400A are the bad ones
Why didnt you go to the 5th floor
Self reset? Like when they go all the way up and stops on the floor on the way back down
Well, glitches will be glitches! They don't make elevators like they used to! Either that, or the software KNEW you were gonna ride it, so it decided to troll you for a bit!
Who is that standing right there at 1:50
That would be Jim Li.
I think the guys at the bottom mess with the doors causing these issues
he didnt.
The elevator must have thought it parked at one and went up on three and parked there and went down
Was that Jimlielevators In the background?
Yes
did it just lose its position and try to do a relearn run?
It sure looks like it.
The quality of a Schindler 3300 MRL...
I guess it wanted to keep you in there because your an elevator photographer
Bruh you the door was closed automatically but you clicked 2nd time causes to lookdown or this comment is fake
I saw this one before and I got to tell you that they are amazing but when I was going down and I was gonna hit the door close button but I actually hit the phone button! And then I told them that I was ok..
I can hear jim though the shaft
hey dieselducy! it's me Tron!
That's a annoying elevator. Not only the loud annoying sound effects. Top it off with it not letting you out then going back up and then down
cool a Schindler 3300 XL
on 17/5/17 mum and I went on a elevator which malfunctioned when it was leveling and the doors didn't open for 10 seconds and wen the doors opened it was 2 inches above the floor but I did not capture it on camera cool video dieselducy
Here I am, telling people how Schindler stepped up their game,
....then....this.....happened.....
Epic down fail up!
I think it went up to reset
Like an Ozark Trail elevator
at least you will get stuck in a beautiful elevator
Hehe good ending to that video!
I think someone was messing with elevator or the elevators relays
There are practically no relays in these more modern elevators.
I saw your friend
DAKA is Schindler
That's like a European model I think
Hmm... I still don't like the look of these fixtures and the hardware seems kinda cheap looking and sounding too... but I've been trying to let them grow on me. I'm tending to think my first impressions were actually right. They're made out of cheap plastic and I just don't like them.
Dana Danarosana yeah the European 3300 fixtures are nicer
What the heck!
Why did it do that?
It was lousy.
Schindler elevators
yep!
I don't like elevators because you can get stuck for a long time
Especially when the lift is controlled using only the lift companies computer program extracted into the logic. Old lifts are very reliable because you're actually interacting with relays.
Wow that's bad for a 3300
New elevators a just fake elevators !
old ones are perfect !
Clément 2000 then get in the soviet elevator in Ukraine. That thing hasn't been maintained or looked after for like, a very long time and your phone lights are brighter than the light inside the elevator
Despite looking unsafe & dangerous, those lifts are extremely reliable because they are using relays instead of just interacting with a gigantic computer program.
3300s are the cheap model. Not surprised glitches like these happen then. 5500s are much better, or even better, 7000 or MiniSpace.
Fyre An Otis Gen2 modern does the same thing, but it's because the 1st floor, the office just 1 of the 3 cabs are allowed to go,once it stops it goes back to the destination since one of the not programmed to go there try to go there, this same thing in this video is very normal
Clinton Township Lifts by MagicalLift256 Say that they're unsafe and dangerous it's a very hyped comment, isn't all the moderns are dangerous, since your country don't use the japanese fixtures or doesn't understand of how it works
Uh oh
Geez
But I'll still ride one
The first floor is 0 no 1
1:03
That's a POS Piece of Schindler elevator.
0:103
That chime is terrible
.
nice vid but weird
0:99
THATS WHY I KIND OF DON'T LIKE THE SCHINDLER 3300 SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
Specialty Elevators & UEE's by Technicalboy3000 LOL
Still better than a Cheapodisc.
Schindler 3300s in Europe/Australia, and 3300 APs, may probably be better though...
@JoshCraver9000 You most definitely can't say it about the AU EcoDiscs. There are two at my local club. They both run at 2 metres a second, just the only difference is one is the 2nd Gen EcoDisc which is now used as a service lift after a club upgrade and as which it was the only elevator to access the cellar for the bar, and the other is a 3rd Gen EcoDisc with AUS300 buttons. The 2nd Gen has been there for about 8 years, and has had not ONE problem with it! Same goes with the 3rd Gen, just it's been around for only a year in the club.
@TheDragonFire123 Sadly you're statement is not true. Most of them just rattle and shake and have loud motors. That is the case for the Schindler 3300AP in the shopping centre next to the club. It still is in good running condition, and goes 3m/s surprisingly! It's use then was cut when a Schindler mid rise was installed on the other side of the centre. I don't have the exact model name, but it is very good! It carries 53 people and can transport almost ALL the trolleys from the parking lot bays to the shopping level. Oh, and by that, I mean in the lift all at ONCE!
You can hear jim though the door
Shit
Ok
damn computers
Bawerryip
.,,,,,',,,,

MrMattandMrChay and Beno are the best lift videoers in the U.K., you have no chance of being the best!! And they are called lifts, not elevators, and get rid of that stupid cap
That was a very intelligent comment.
mickfooparker you are the worst you are stupid
