If you've studied this sonata, you'll know how incredibly challenging the left hand is. Yet there remains a tranquil thread that dances on under the gymnastics of the vertical motion. Honestly, imo ... possibly the most challenging movement in the collection.
Well, Podger plays on a baroque instrument and bow with different technique, while Hahn plays on the modern violin with modern technique. Trying to make a choice between them would be like trying to compare two different genres of music :) You can always enjoy both
