I had 16 years as a firefighter and traffic accidents were some of the worst times because of the traffic. Had a drunk drive right through our accident scene without slowing down. On others scenes drivers will get distracted by the lights or they are just driving with their heads some place they don't belong. You do what you have to do to keep safe and go home at the end of the shift. Good work!
Unbelievable how many people don’t move over when they could and how many don’t slow down when they should. Excellent decision to get off the highway to finish chaining up. Stay safe Trent.
Pisses me off when cars and trucks don’t move over. Common sense. Also no flashers on the broke down bus. 25 year cop and have seen to much carnage due to asshole drivers. I’m grumpy I guess.
That was the scariest close tight spot towing video that I have ever seen. You made the right call. Unless you are a cat you only have one life, use it wisely. Stay safe.
Enjoy the video, Always like to see what other towing companies do. Gives us ideas for our tow trucks. We don't tow for the public just our on equipment. Keep up the good work. Safety first, because the other drivers won't give you any respect out there. We have had the crap scared out of us many times Two dangerous to even think about.
I like that you kept asking the client until his answer made sense. Yes. Yes but No but Yes. Yes. When it's a second language, there's a tendency to reply in the affirmative regardless of what the question actually was.
Wow I wish the people would've been able to slow down and/or move over, but I do recognize that the roadway geometry might not always allow that. Always frightening to hear the rush of the oncoming traffic. I recall being stopped on the shoulder of an Interstate sometimes and feeling the vehicle being buffeted by the air of the rushing traffic. Nice to get a vehicle that'll actually roll up onto the lowboy! Great work!
No bad there Trent, the way that traffic was skimming past your truck with next to no safety gap I'd have got clear of that shoulder asap too. Regards from the UK.
Damn Trent, I thought you came close to getting hit when you started out around the front of your truck, when the dumb-ass didn't move over! Made me jump back and I'm sitting on my couch!
Why did they take the rear diff cover off? That rear end is TOAST. Love the way you handled this. Put down two chains on one side, enough to hold it in place for a short hop to the exit off the interstate, to a 2-lane side road so you got more room to work with. Those who think you should be risking your life to get all four chains on before moving, don't realize that in the REAL WORLD, interstate drivers WILL NOT give you room to safely work unless the cops are there to FORCE THEM TO MOVE OVER by closing a lane.
That driver of that bus wins the award for "worst communicator" !! You ask him the bus run ? He said no.. Then later he said YES it runs.. Then you ask him if it moves.. he said YES.. then later he said NO..Then later he chance his story to it doesn't run... OMG
Great Job Trent. I Can't Believe how many 18 WHEELER'S DON'T Move Over That'S Crazy . Most of them had the Room just Don't Do It. Makes No Sense IT Don't Take No Time to Move Over. Do You think Thay will Ever in force the SLOW DOWN MOVE OVER Law like Thay Do for School Bus violators. Are Is that to Much. They Can Install Camera's with Y'all and Report Them. At least it will get them to Think. 🚔🚓📹⚒️⚙️🔗⛓️🔧
Long time viewer, first time commenter. Completely agree with your decision to get off the busy road. Worst case but highly unlikely the bus falls off onto the shoulder. I think that's a better option than being hit!
Good video. Cool trailer with remote control. How much weight can that winch pull onto the trailer?? Stay safe out there.. That traffic is very close and fast....
Sir Trent !! Looks like they made toast out the rear end on that bus as running with NO GEAR LUBE !!!! NO one bothered to check the lube level when it was serviced ??? Anyhows,, At least you didn't get hit loading it & chaining it down !!!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!
there was no differential fluid in the rear differential. given that there was no dripping or wet spots underneath, there probably wasn't any for quite some time.
I don't think I could ever get use to that sound of traffic moving so close, and so fast. Especially when under a vehicle where you can't see what's going on. So many drivers can't be bothered to slow down a little and/or move over. Everyone's in their own little world.
With the high speed limit on the highways, no wonder the salvage companies have an extra risky job. Maybe these kind of salvage operations should be accompanied with a safety vehicle that could park a mile or more before the situation, with flashers and a large warning sign, to help drivers know what is going on? Sweden has these kind of warning vehicles, in places where there is a lot of traffic and sometimes high speedlimits.
Good move by moving to a safer place to finish chaining down. People are to busy doing other activities other than paying attention while driving...BE SAFE
I like the first question, does it run? No, Yes, No. Then the surprise in your voice is that the diff cover? Yes. That made me laugh. Also, I think they put the rocks on the wrong side of the tires. Maybe on the backside of the tire would have been better.
Yes my friend this true Two is good I'm also 100% with you This the way I shall do liked you I'm not care what another one said To not sits you live in a danger for all when you near cart rails thanks in joy the video friend be alert be safe go home
Mike - Given how shiny the axle is where the gear cover goes. I would say it never had a gear cover on it. Perhaps they put a new axle on and never got a chance to put the cover on and fill it with lubricant before the bus was put back into service..
Nice trailer setup ! A couple of the camera angles made i look like you had the longest roll back ever i did a couple of double looks the owner/driver of the bus has no business driving. That bus if he doesnt know basics like height ?
It doesn't run but it moves WTH! The mistake here is letting some guy behind the wheel or near the job! One day someone will do something so dumb that you won't ask for help from customers again! Could be dangerous as it happened to me! No more help from the public lol
I know what's it like broken down on the highway. Its' pretty scary with all those heavy vehicles are flying by. It only takes one to rubber neck and forget to steer and you are dead. Get off as soon as you can. Quite right. Fuck the regs when it comes to personal safety.
I think it should be mandatory for a police officer to sit there with you to direct traffic to the next Lane and if people don't move over the police officer will pull them over and fine them a hefty fine I mean it's common sense it was on your f****** driver's test.
Yes but the call was probably for a bus.. Nobody probably knew if it was a huge or small one i quess is what happened. And one wants to be prepared "wait a bit i get the big truck" is not an option
I thought of the same thing on why they sent out a low boy for that. But the way the driver answered on whether the bus ran or not, I could only imagine how the call came in...
We'll that was a confusing and frustrating opening conversation with the customer SMDH
I can't believe they were driving the bus W/out the rear diff cover.
No cure for stupidity.
Scott Becker lmao I hope the took it off when it broke down
Was way to clean. They probably take it out just see what is wrong. But if no grease, diff is destroyed
I'd say they removed it after the bus broke down, trying to figure out what was wrong.
Your life is the most important good job From England, If Im back in the USA I hope you recover my wagon
No question - STILL can't believe so many drivers don't slow down/move over!!
I had 16 years as a firefighter and traffic accidents were some of the worst times because of the traffic. Had a drunk drive right through our accident scene without slowing down. I like how you had to qualify, "set the brake", with "if it's got one." You know your customers.
Reversing that thing on highway its insane good job bro and stay safe
Unbelievable how many people don’t move over when they could and how many don’t slow down when they should. Excellent decision to get off the highway to finish chaining up. Stay safe Trent.
Trent I completely agree with you buddy. However you are now known as two chains. Lol God bless
I don’t blame you for moving off the highway to finish chaining down, people are to distracted these days. It can happen so fast!
Great video thanks.
I am no expert but the fact that you have no gear oil in the rear end may be the problem.
Pisses me off when cars and trucks don’t move over.
Common sense.
Also no flashers on the broke down bus.
25 year cop and have seen to much carnage due to asshole drivers.
I’m grumpy I guess.
You are absolutely right , safety for yourself first and then for everything else !
you got a bad place to load up. I noticed some of them don’t get on the left lane. Be safe. ☕️👍
That was the scariest close tight spot towing video that I have ever seen. You made the right call. Unless you are a cat you only have one life, use it wisely. Stay safe.
Great video 😊 everything you did in that situation was spot on 👍🏼
If I was a Tow Truck driver I would pull off just like you. Traffic Accidents kill no respecter person(s).
Very smart thinking buddy, too many tow truck drivers are getting killed, enjoyed the video, stay safe out there my friend!
Absolutely right. It’s your job and your life on the line. Safety first Stay safe bro happy towing
Your right in moving to a safer place to put on the other chains. Good job.
Thank you for sharing we careful out there✌️👊
I was waiting for the inevitable "how long you been doing this?" lol. Your life you make the decisions to LIVE by!!! 😎👍

Trent I totally agree with you safety is more important then risking getting hit by a driver not paying attention or moving over
Absolutely safety first Trent I would have done the same thing
Damn Trent, I thought you came close to getting hit when you started out around the front of your truck, when the dumb-ass didn't move over! Made me jump back and I'm sitting on my couch!

Don't blame you one bit your life is more important than that bus. Stay safe!!!

I bet the engine runs, the wheels can move freely but the engine can't power the wheels. Can be a bit though when English isn't your first language.
Nice job Trent
Good call on the last 2 chain i would have done the same
I'm surprised that so many people passed by you in the right lane.
Great Job Trent. I Can't Believe how many 18 WHEELER'S DON'T Move Over That'S Crazy . Most of them had the Room just Don't Do It. Makes No Sense IT Don't Take No Time to Move Over. You da man Trent...
You did just fine , I would not go out in traffic like that !
Bro that was awesome backup hopefully one day you will see me backup like that
Safety first good job
Good content as always! Keep it up!
Good video. Cool trailer with remote control. How much weight can that winch pull onto the trailer?? Stay safe out there.. That traffic is very close and fast....

there was no differential fluid in the rear differential. given that there was no dripping or wet spots underneath, there probably wasn't any for quite some time.
There was no differential fluid because there was no differential cover on the back of the differential.
I don't think I could ever get use to that sound of traffic moving so close, and so fast. Especially when under a vehicle where you can't see what's going on.
So many drivers can't be bothered to slow down a little and/or move over. Everyone's in their own little world.
Yup that's ford for yah fix or repair daily don't get me wrong but I hate it when they break, I like them
With the high speed limit on the highways, no wonder the salvage companies have an extra risky job. Love the vids keep up the good work hope one day i can own my a tow company
Loving these videos
You did the right thing, driving to the next exit!!!!!!!!!!!
Safety first on that busy freeway. I'm curious how far they drove without the differential cover on.
Good move by moving to a safer place to finish chaining down. People are to busy doing other activities other than paying attention while driving...BE SAFE
There's only one you .You got to do what is best for your safety .we are not the onces out there 😎
I like the first question, does it run? No, Yes, No. Then the surprise in your voice is that the diff cover? Yes. That made me laugh. Also, I think they put the rocks on the wrong side of the tires. Maybe on the backside of the tire would have been better.
Good job but I just see why some of the trucks were not moveing over just not getting the big pictrue or there just A holes.
Yes my friend this true
Two is good I'm also 100% with you
This the way I shall do liked you
I'm not care what another one said
To not sits you live in a danger for all when you near cart rails thanks in joy the video friend be alert be safe go home
Nice video keep it up
Is there no "move over" law for police/fire/tow vehicles CA?
I was wondering if you gonna haul it with two chains! Pulling in to put the other chains is the best idea, look out for your own safety!
Never put yourself in danger if it can be avoided, thanks, pull toy here.
love the vids TJ
The video is awesome
wonder how long that diff cover was off? not a drop of oil dripped out of it lol
Mike - Given how shiny the axle is where the gear cover goes. I would say it never had a gear cover on it. Perhaps they put a new axle on and never got a chance to put the cover on and fill it with lubricant before the bus was put back into service..
I'm surprised that rear diff hadnt welded itself together from no gear oil
Surprised that diff didn't lock up.........Jay
Nice trailer setup ! A couple of the camera angles made i look like you had the longest roll back ever i did a couple of double looks the owner/driver of the bus has no business driving. That bus if he doesnt know basics like height ?

Do you guys have Slow down move over law
Traffic is going to fast
I know what's it like broken down on the highway. Its' pretty scary with all those heavy vehicles are flying by. It only takes one to rubber neck and forget to steer and you are dead. Get off as soon as you can. Quite right. Fuck the regs when it comes to personal safety.
Seems like the bus people probably took an easy fix and made it 10 times worse.
Were they trying to drive it with on oil?
Oh geez 🤣
Sick
So diff failed due to lack of rear gear oil, yea sounds like someone was skimping out on maintenance.
Good😁🤙🤙👍
I know two drivers that have been hit. Get to a safe spot if you can first.
I think it should be mandatory for a police officer to sit there with you to direct traffic to the next Lane and if people don't move over the police officer will pull them over and fine them a hefty fine I mean it's common sense it was on your f****** driver's test.
Couldn't you have loaded it on the light-medium duty flat bed or wrecker ?
Yes but the call was probably for a bus.. Nobody probably knew if it was a huge or small one i quess is what happened. And one wants to be prepared "wait a bit i get the big truck" is not an option
I thought of the same thing on why they sent out a low boy for that. But the way the driver answered on whether the bus ran or not, I could only imagine how the call came in...
Wood is not as slippery when wet. FYI
Hi
@16:36 what is the reason for putting the truck back in gear after you pulled out your parking brake ?
Prob to engage the PTO, not 100% on that though
When the vlogs coming back
Ik think the bus was Ganja-loaded from Mexico 👈🤣🤣🤣
Typical freeway drivers, that's how ppl get killed "MOVE OVER, SLOW DOWN"
You all don't have the Move Over law? Or do drivers just ignore it that badly?
They dont care.. Anywhere
Why did they take the cover off the differential? Not real smart to begin with and there is no differential fluid anyplace so it was very dry!
Why couldn’t y’all just towed it
This was probably faster, so he could get off the highway faster
Hahaha...🙈🙉🙊
Wow i'm early
