“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

My only regret is not charging for everything I did as far as nail art, changing shapes, use of more than one color, etc… I aim to rectify my situation way sooner than later! Ladies & men DO NOT get in the habit of not charging for work you do!

Regret, not starting sooner. If I knew, I was going to love doing nails... I would have started 20 years ago.

SAME! Especially with the cost of nail products, there were times in my life I could have bought everything I needed but right now I'm struggling to put together a kit. I regret not starting years ago but I'm also glad because I genuinely love doing nails.

My regret is having to learn nails through the videos and stuff, life for me right now just can't do nail school, and I wish I had a better support system for my dreams. I am learning though!!!!

I regret spending money in a week of learning at a horrible school. I suspected it was a bad place because they didn't have even Instagram, nor an active FB... And I went anyway... It was as horrible as I suspect. Dirt, old and multiple models of lamps, dirt orange sticks, AliExpress low quality e-files, and old fashioned skills from teacher... awfull... Maybe you could talk about how to choose a good school to learn and how to see if it's not

My regret is buying too many too soon before I knew anything about nails and nail companies. I bout so much acrylic items not knowing about gel and I can achieve the same look of acrylic with gel, with low odor (I cannot do acrylic whenever I want because I have to wait until my mother to exits the apartment for a couple hours.)

I've had some issues with getting bubbles every time I use ultimate finish gel. Do you have any tips to avoid that?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 года назад

You might be trying to apply it too thin. As you are brushing it on, you should have enough product on your brush so it doesn't leave streaks. Once you have the product on, it should be thick enough to self level so it looks smooth like glass

I started when I was 17 years old, now I'm 37. I like doing nails, but over time it became terrible for me that it requires working with people (especially women). In order to earn money, you have to work from morning to night. You don't see your husband, children, house in chaos, and time passes and you can't get it back. People are energy vampires, and when they are completely ok, some simply take the energy and you feel exhausted. Women complain when you can't schedule them because there are no free appointments, then you have to work even harder to do them all. You can make good money, but you don't have a life, and all day you listen to other people's lives that don't interest you, but you have to listen.

I have an idea for a next video.
Is it possible Habib for you to do a video of what application you use/like for making your videos?
Like those you tried and why you didn’t liked them and those you did like and why?
    😇😇🙏🙏🙏🙏 thanks a lot
It’s an humble question for my that I don’t know where to start for doing videos

Tracey saying “I DID all that” is a whole mood 😂
Habib touched upon a couple of things that I would love to see fleshed out in future episodes. Would you guys ever do a Biz Talk about the challenges of family businesses? How do you balance being a business owner (which already makes work/life balance tricky) with your family relationships?

My regret is similar to Tracy’s, I regret not taking myself seriously from the beginning. It took me 3 years to implement any policies and charging for nail art because I didn’t believe in myself

Not a regret really- I was kinda of forced into Boothe Renting right out of the gate because of Covid nobody was hiring so I've had to learn everything on my own because I'm in a Salon where im the only Nail tech... just wish I had an opportunity for input from other Techs on a daily...
