How exciting 😊 you are lucky you can take online schooling...I had to complete 300 hours in person through a Cosmetology School here in Ohio, that was definitely difficult while working a full-time retail job and doing nails after work and on my days off... lol But you will do great, you know the basics just from doing your own so it'll just be the technical terminology you might need a lil more study time for(and acrylic was my nemesis too... but only because I've never used it, I'm a gel girl too!!), but if your exams are anything like our State Board testing, they keep it pretty simple and basic. Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing your progress throughout your schooling💜
I am just starting the builder gel part of the course, so I will definitely record some of process and steps they ask you to take. I think you world enjoy this course. The group is very helpful, and I like that you have practical assignments on real people. Biggest hugs 💙 🤗

Just to let you know young nails has a new acrylic system that is extreme low odor so you might wanna check into that one instead of the stronger smell. They say you can’t smell it when they’re doing live on twitch and stuff but happier in no school get it girl.

Congratulations 🎉 so very exciting!! I thought about getting licensed but had issues with dip liquids. I started out doing my own nails with dip. After about a year I developed “the dip flu” from the dip liquids. I would get a cold for about a week after doing my nails. I used a vented area with a fan and mask. I eventually switched to gel because of the issue.

I did the nail course 2 years ago and told them I didn’t need the kit because I had everything . There was no problem. I watched enough videos with people getting kits and knew I would just throw their stuff out. I would definitely get a better acrylic brush good luck and have fun
Use odorless monomer I used that for practice and assigments at school. since i dont plan to do acrylic only gel. congrats you can do it. I just finish cosmo school and got my AA degree in my community college. and have 2 kiddos and part time job. you can do it. 🎉🎉🎉

Hey, Nena So it's a bit of both. When I record double shot, I have two cameras ( phones) going at the same time. One is on my face and one on the products. Then, in my editing app. I use filmora. I layer the footage and get picture in picture. I was thinking of doing a video on how I film my videos doing double shot. I feel like there are so many people interested in that. @verablackmon1597 Yes, I have been using it for when I am practicing, I find it helps I still have the window slightly open and the air purifiers on but I fine the smell isn't making the whole house overwhelming. So i feel it helps. 💙🤗

How can you tell what kind will help take out the smell of monomer while working? How did you decide on the one you bought?

Good luck with your course. Is it an online course or do you go to a business to do it all? I was considering doing a course here in Brisbane Australia just down the road from where I live but they only accept Asians, at their school. I don’t feel comfortable just doing online study 50+ years old.

Personally I don't think you should market this as a "nail school" kit, because absolutely there will be some people buying this thinking it's ok to use in nail school! I'm unsure where you're based, but all states except Connecticut require a person to be licensed to do nails, and the items they want used during state boards is specific (you can literally be disqualified from participation for using a monomer that has been opened in Wisconsin) And 99% of these products are not acceptable to use just because of their requirements (that practice hand would be a NoNo as well, and you need to learn hand filing before learning an E file) I think instead you should market it as an all in 1 beginners product box. Everything you'll need to start off. Or at least something on your page to signify that these items are NOT to be used for state boards. When I was in nail tech school, they gave us the option to buy all items eventually needed for the boards individually or we could buy a kit certified for the boards. Really just don't want to see people drop a bunch of money on this only for them to be told no for actual testing purposes for licensure.
@fluffthecake thanks for your opinion. I am located in Canada, and it it's way difference here from the US . This school will make me a certified nail technician in Canada. We don't have state boards here, and this school doesn't offer their programs in the USA. Here in Ontario, Canada, you technically don't even need to be licensed to do nails professionally. I choose to educate myself further. 💙🤗
