This was soooo informative. I’ve been a nail tech for 30 years. Have not gone up on my prices in 25 years?!?!? I’m definitely adding a 5$ charge to each service… I am worth it and plus my supplies have continued to go up year after year… thanks fir the push!
I started with acrylic an found it very difficult, so learned gel by watching ur video's, have a gel course booked with young nails in july so i can learn from a professional mentor to truly master gel. Then will do an acrylic acrylic course too as there,s defo an art to acrylic an need to learn from the best with young nails. Greg is the best teacher.😊
I’ve learned so much from all of Young Nails videos!!! I’m so very grateful for y’all!! I don’t know where I’d be without y’all!! I’m about 7 months in professionally! Still trying to build up. But it’s going good so far!!
Topic: For the ones that work at-from home. I’m a housewife and have being working in the nail world for a year now (Tijuana 🇲🇽) I have learn a lot from you guys and would love to hear some advice for someone like me. Obviously the price is sooo much lower here 😔 but the expectations and demands of the clients is the same or worse 😂
Your clients are not in control of your pricing… you are!!!!! If you feel you are charging to little then raise prices just make sure to plan and let clients know ahead of time prices are changing to give them time to adjust their budgets for nails as well.
I started doing nails ..about 2 years ago, got my license Sept 2020. Going on 50 😬 and have had to teach myself everything- thank you Covid! I am SO thankful for your videos- Biz talk, live Twitch streams, etc... Anyway, I booth rent, I am the only nail tech at the Salon and have been struggling to get clients.I don't have another job so right now, everything goes right to my booth rent. However, It has only been 6 months at this location - and I keep hearing Tracey saying - it takes time!- which is helping me keep my sanity. Thank you for this! And for all that you guys do for the Nail Community. I can honestly say - I don't know where I'd be if it hadn't been for your continued advice and wonderful Nail Community ❤
Keep your head up. All yr hard work will pay off. Nails are only for the strong minded and strong willed (you). Most people would have gaven up but not u yr doing it. 💅💪
You are so helpful!!! All the things you are saying are things that we should be having conversations about!!!❤️❤️❤️ Sadly, the industry is commonly a jealous one 😞 Not everybody is willing to listen
I have to agree! I’m always taking another class or course to improve my skills or add to my service menu. Always learning something new!!! (Recently I learned that it’s really painful to challenge gravity in front of clients!🤣 I lost that challenge, btw.) Whatever you do in salon, you have to do for your future self. Self care, mental health, policy, pricing education… it’s all about future you. Where do you want to be tomorrow?
I recently qualified in acrylic and normal manicure thanks to your videos and using the nsi spa liquid as its by far one of the best odourless liquids I have tried and having a very helpful tutor now about to do a HD brow course
Fortunately i had a great education because i was the only one learning there i went to my teacher for months she has almost 20 years of experience with acrylic nails and she taught me 90% of what is important she gave me brilliant tips etc BUT your videos are so so valuable! With your videos i keep the important things in mind and learn a lot great ne things. I improved so much with your help its amazing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am at the very beginning and corona does not help but i love doing nails and i know that i can Do this! 💕
I'm a cosmetologist who specializes in nails and I've been struggling with my, if you can call it business, and I was actually gonna put it on the backburner and turn off the gas. But after watching this it kinda made me feel a little better about what I should do
Off topic but last night I was watching old YN RUclips videos and stumbled upon info that suggested YN products used to be for professionals only! 😲💅 so glad that's changed. Us newbies are future professionals 💅💗💅❤
I just took the synergy gel class yesterday and it was so amazing, I definitely need to up my hard gel products and do these services. It’s better for ME to do hard gel at home where I live with my kids and mother. Wet low odor compared to acrylic until I can get my own place to do nails comfortably
The fine diamond bits work great for prepping the cuticle area of the natural nail. They won't take down bulk from an artificial nail, but they can help smooth the surface.
Im on week twp of nail preclinics at my local school and I'm on my game because of young nails! I love you guys thank you for all the amazing and usefull tip. Taught my class the nice kitty kitty ktty and they loved it! 😍
Great video as always! I am at the point of learning to e file ! Would you give us please the approx dimensions of a correct working table ? It would be a great help especially for me that I am about to order a new table! Thank you in advance! ❤️
I definitely was petrified but I knew it was going to change my life lol!!!! To my surprise I grabbed hold to the techniques really fast it came so natural
Can you make a video of proper posture and how to move your client. I’ve been doing hair for years so I try to be aware of how I’m standing but when I do nails my shoulder burnssss. So I know I’m doing something wrong. Love your videos xo
Love your channel and all of your videos. I’m a fairly new nail tech. It’s part time as I work as a dental assistant as well. Want to transition into nails eventually. My question is, what do you do if you go on a holiday. How do you work with that?
You would have to call Californias state board your license may transfer but you still have to get a license through California to be able to work there.
It’s all relative to your needs.. a chair for me being short probably wouldn’t work for a taller person. I recommend going somewhere you can sit and try the chairs out
If you plan on doing nails long term it can really cause damage to your hands. Carpal tunnel is pretty painful and definitely effects your day to day life to a point you may not be able to work at all using your hands.
I hand filed mostly in school but as soon as I was comfortable working on people I went head first into the E file after my first full set took me 5 hours😂😂😂😂😂
I’m still training but my fills take longer than my full sets, with how much lifting I’m having to remove. Just did a 5.5 hour fill 😭 and that’s with an efile… what am I doing wrong?? 😫
It could be your technique…. Young nails has a video on filing away lifting. You want to hit it with a tap tap motion right behind the area that is lifted. Imagine there is a line where the lifting begins and ends….the visible part is the beginning the part still semi attached to the nail plate is where you want to file.
Lets talk money! How much money do you make doing nails as a business? I see anything from 25k - 100k. I want to hear from people doing it. Whats the range?

Add $10!
Add $15-$20!

So happy to hear that! We hope you learned something new from this video on common mistakes.

I feel you I'm on the same boat.

I once heard the best quote about money from a woman in her 90's. Money doesn't buy you happiness but I'd rather be miserable in comfort.
so so thankful for these videos as I open my new location this upcoming month... so appreciated! Thank youu!! xx

Great video so helpful for everyone. Thank you.

When would you use a fine efile bit on acrylic nails? Ty all for your hard work and great content

Thank you in advance! ❤️
I personally like it from 18-22 inches wide. 21” is my preference.
That is very helpful for me! Thank you so much!!! ❤️
I was wondering if you guys would be doing an online e-file class? I want to improve my e-file skills and would love to learn from you guys.
We do not have a class specifically about e-filing, but we have a great playlist.

Thank you for thisss 💜
What’s the proper width we should be working with for nail table measurements?
I found the answer in the comments
Great biz talk YN 👏🏼

ruclips.net/video/Jqoz4gsvcJ4/видео.html
What would you suggest is a good table width?
I personally like it from 18-22 inches wide. 21” is my preference.
Literally getting a new table today! Thank you so much!!!!
Old habits are hard to break. I still tend to hand file first and then remember, "oh, dummy you have an efile for this."
Is owc zoom free? If not what’s the cost?
OWC is an in person class. For more information, you can email ray@youngnails.com.
Off topic but if you get a nail license in honolulu, hawaii can I do nails in California? Or i have to take their license exam.
You would have to call Californias state board your license may transfer but you still have to get a license through California to be able to work there.
You would have to check with the CA State Board of Cosmetology to find out what their requirements are to transfer your license.
so what's the perfect width for a nail table?
I personally like it from 18-22 inches wide. 21” is my preference.
I did face painting it’s true chair and table matters!!!
What is the correct width and height. I have so many back problems 😫
It’s all relative to your needs.. a chair for me being short probably wouldn’t work for a taller person. I recommend going somewhere you can sit and try the chairs out
These videos are also therapeutic.
I prefer to hand file is that a bad thing
If you plan on doing nails long term it can really cause damage to your hands. Carpal tunnel is pretty painful and definitely effects your day to day life to a point you may not be able to work at all using your hands.
I filed mostly while I was in school which was only 6 months and there were days where my hands would hurt so bad I couldn’t even open a bag of chips.
What’s OWC???
It stands for One Week Coarse
Are you currently offering OWC? If so how can I sign up?
@@candiceparker160 Not at the moment. Right now, we are only offering zoom classes.
I am currently signed up for those classes and loving all the lessons.
