Not gonna lie… lots of things scare me (mostly in a healthy way) in this sport I took up a year and a half ago, but the speed and size of air in park jumps is next level. I think I’m too old to ever put achieving this on my wish list. But it looks amazing!
The hardest part about jumping is crashing. take it one step at a time and who knows where you'll end up! just don't listen to anyone who tells you to "lean back to prevent nose dive"
Man bike Park jumps are both the scariest and most rewarding. High speed but also they're made incredibly well. Just focus on technique on smaller jumps then the big ones will follow. Or a good place to get lots of practice is the local bmx track. Great for honing jumping skills
Man, I'm 43 years old and I used to mess around on a BMX a long time ago but I haven't hit anything big on a mountain bike like this stuff but it looks so fun. ...I just can't wait to get up to the skill level and location...
Well, awesome, fellow YT Mtbers meeting up and having a go at a revamped trail! I would say that's a Good Monday, right there! Nic, I am not at your skill level, but I can relate to your approaches to new features. Not always a "send it" the first go round. Definitely seeing your comfort level with the Knolly increasing with each vid. Hope it continues to serve you well.
Yeah the perspective is way better for a sense and feeling of the trails. I thought it was way better footage then a gopro. Sound and image quality suffers though. Another year or 2 of development I could see it being the next camera to use for all footage.
Pretty awesome😎🤙🤙 Indeed a lot of sharkfins haha! I think i gonna use your vid for inspiration to build one ourselfs over here in the Dutch flatland. Thanks for the great overview😁👌
Great video! New Coastal Cruise looks pretty gnarly with all those big shark fins. Also, wondering if you've got some oil contamination on your brake pads/rotors. Was surprised they were making so much noise even in the relative dry.
@@VanCan I guess it must depend on the brand? I've never had consistent noise with Shimano metallic pads. I have, however, had those exact same sounds with contaminated pads and rotors. 😓
Dude, those are some big freaking jumps! That place looks sick as hell! You ride the BEST shit out there, you lucky bastard. I am super jealous. Super super jealous.
Wow what a place so envious of the places yall get to ride im saving up one day it will be me too lol. really love the perspective of the 360 not as zoomed in and a lot more like human vision tho they could work on the quality of their video and audio sounds muffled
@@VanCan I've come to a similar state of mind regarding my bikes. I sold everything except my Kavenz VHP16 and my dirt jumper. I realized I much prefer having that one main bike that I come to know like an extension of my body compared to having several bikes which all ride and feel a bit different.
@@JaggedTusk yes agree. it’s the reason I asked, much as I loved my DH bike, I didn’t ride it much and not at all in the covid 19 lock down (travel ban in U.K.). My sentinel can do most of the things my DH bike could do.👍
Those XT Brakes sound pretty annoying. Currently having the same issue with them and the noise doesn't go away even with new brake pads it always keeps coming back. Any advice on how to fix that?
Awesome video BRO this place looks awesome and that pro line looks awesome go big or go home springs to mind I suppose the lawyers office will be pretty busy as well for those cases lol
@@VanCan If it looks crazy on youtube its way to big for regular riders....skate boarding did the same thing with skate parks in the 90's. the pools and pipes got more and more crazy until no one but the pros could ride them. Then the mid level riders that could not ride the "cool" stuff gave up and stopped going to the parks and took up street riding....soon you just had 4 or 5 people that would show up at the park.....bike parks are doing the same thing. the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Not gonna lie that main line didn’t look like it was built that well. With the rollers being too short and corners being too tight and not being able to carry enough speed

Takes about a year of constant jumping on man made jumps I’m still in the process of doing so just ease into it and stick to table tops.
I concur. There's a reason why most clips on Pinkbike's Friday Fail videos are jumping lol.

Loved the 360 footage. It gives you a much better perspective on how steep the trails are.
I was just going to say I didn't like the 360 camera. The audio isn't as good and I thought the video wasn't as sharp and as good of quality.
Yeah the perspective is way better for a sense and feeling of the trails. I thought it was way better footage then a gopro. Sound and image quality suffers though. Another year or 2 of development I could see it being the next camera to use for all footage.
I love the look of that trail. Fresh dirt and the grass cut along the sides looks so perfect 👌. The re vamped pro line looks killer though.
maaaate. this is bucket list for me.
The bike park is so clean, and new track look even better ! Dream bike park, wish I could be here one day :D
Eric has been absolutely shredding 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Nic posted a video, my Monday is saved:)
Sick riding and those trails looks incredible!

Anyone else lean their body when watching him take those turns hahaha!
That dirt 🤌
And yeah, I jump like the first "this" 🥺
thego pro's sound quality pretty good, it especially showes when compared to the insta 360
boooooooo...... yaaaaaaaaaaaaah! The mid vid commercial is classic! Love it.

Metallic pads are noisy
@@VanCan so that’s just from the metallic pads? U kiddin’ 😱
@@VanCan I guess it must depend on the brand? I've never had consistent noise with Shimano metallic pads. I have, however, had those exact same sounds with contaminated pads and rotors. 😓
@@VanCan shouldn't be that noisy unless there's contamination or misalignment
Love your videos and your bike is soooo nice would love to build myself a knolly in the long run
Was there during coastal cruise opening day, was way bigger in person
It always looks easy until you get there 😂
@@VanCan exactly, was thinking I was gonna be hitting coastal all day, but it's so scary
Boom 💥💥💥
your riding style is very fun to watch!
Dude, those are some big freaking jumps! That place looks sick as hell! You ride the BEST shit out there, you lucky bastard. I am super jealous. Super super jealous.
Looks amazing place very noisy brakes but great video
Is there a designated hike up line on coastal cruise?
wow, great and big jumps! nice ride man, subbed 😎
The Go Pro is awesome such a clear video, the insta looks awful tho
You should check out MTX brake pads. Significantly quieter. Sweet videos!
could anyone tell me the website you can use to find the right derailleur hanger for your bike?
I am Japanese. That sounds like fun too.
Oooo, that was close
steezy as always Nic! haha
Fantastic 👍
Awesome! 😁

Place looks good
Cool vid and good work on the jumps! What happend with your brakes?
cold+wet+metallic pads
Great video. Has the DH bike gone now, or is the knolly just a bit better?
The DH bike is sold and no plans for a new one. These days I like having one main bike and the Knolly can handle it!
@@VanCan I've come to a similar state of mind regarding my bikes. I sold everything except my Kavenz VHP16 and my dirt jumper. you can totally see the steepness of the trail :O
Did you record it in 1080?
You gotta goback and do it in 4k, lol
The 4k is still processing apparently
Don't know about you, but some of my best riding happens when my brakes are screaming at me... Probably because I try to use them less haha
I bet there is some truth to that
Those XT Brakes sound pretty annoying. Currently having the same issue with them and the noise doesn't go away even with new brake pads it always keeps coming back. Any advice on how to fix that?
It’s just what happens when metallic pads are wet and cold. Best solution is resin pads, but they wear fast and don’t have the same power.
Awesome video BRO this place looks awesome and that pro line looks awesome go big or go home springs to mind I suppose the lawyers office will be pretty busy as well for those cases lol
Not been this early in a while!
Did Eric get a new ext fork?
so sick
Hey Nick I've been wondering if you've tried clipless pedals?
not yet, but I will! They solve a problem I don't have, so I've put it off.
🔥🔥🔥
You mean to tell me that maple waffle isnt your favorite flavor hmmm 🤔
I’m all about that fruity
I need to stop playin games and start to convince my wife why we need to move up there. I'd go from 2 spots to ride to hundreds.
Was this the place Lewis Buchanan rode on his trip. It looks insane that uumpline ooo brilliant 🏴🔥🫡
Ya, he probably came here!
I also suffer from Zoolander syndrome
Damn those brakes 😬😬
Bossed it
You're f****** cool
They need to remove or pad some trees or there will be some pain.
Insta360... looks good sounds bad.
These big bike parks are to drool over even if I wouldn't hit that pro line at all. With 360 footage, cool video and horseshit audio.
RUclips's definition of "1080P" is horrendous lol. Video looks like 240.
4K still processing :(
I will not be going there.....ever....
don't say that!

360 looks cool but sounds like shit. Please have a gopro record at the same time and use that audio :) Or make your own mic covers.
Sorry. Cereal! WTF. Hard no.

GET NEW BRAKES OMG
metallic pads are noisy, nothing can be done.
@@VanCan You should try MTX gold ceramic brake pads. No noise and lots of braking power.
I have friends who have them, same problem.

Good lord. 😳. Fixed those brakes. They ruin the video.
Metallic pads, nothing anyone can do
