You missed out on a few things. Ryu was basically Ryu/Ken/akuma. You also missed out on sliver zangief golden war machine. And I believe another palette swap of morrigan.
I remember seeing this arcade machine at a local grocery store and being amazed by it. I hardly ever played it though because the older kids were always playing.
It's a great game, but the most ambitious cross-over games will always be the Capcom v SNK, where you aren't just combining different characters, but completely different philosophies on how fighting games are played.
Speaking of Darkstalkers, would you consider a history of that franchise? The whole world seems to go daft for Morrigan, but I've always been a Hsien-Ko man myself!
I love this 😂 I grew up with this game on ps1 🤷🏾♂️ but I loved this game none the less, I ended up downloading an emulator to play this on my pc because I was feeling nostalgic, this game still holds up today. LETS GO CRAZY!
I had the ps1 version of this when I was a kid, played the hell out of it. I then got MvC2 for dreamcast and wow was I a happy kid then. Love these games.
I played this game at Cedar Point, it's so much fun. I love the artstyle as it uses the classic Marvel and Capcom designs for the characters which gives it this unique charm. It's also really fast paced and just overall a good time. My team is usually Spider-Man and either Ryu or Captain America

@9:30 -- The assists are not randomly allocated to each player. Any player has a choice of their assists if they know the assists code with the joystick/buttons.
Captain America’s Hyper Charging Star is a perfect against Onslaught 2nd form when he claw swipes at you, I kid you not, you plow through him. So is Ryu’s (Akuma Mode) super air fireball when you’re right above onslaught. 😎

False. They have different normals and Iron man doesn't have the super War Destroyer. To trade off: Iron Man's 'Sunday best' Proton Cannon is much faster. They're basically Iron Ryu / Ken

I didn't own a dreamcast (too poor) so I didn't have a choice but it was still a good port for me, I love the game (I still own it) and still continue to have fun.
Due to the amount of recycling between X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, I wouldn't be surprised if the latter was developed by an skeleton crew while most of the staff were working on Marvel vs. Capcom.
Capcom vs Tatsunuko is very rare and would fit great into the theme of this channel. There is so much history. PlayStation has a Tatsunuko game that is very rare that led to CVT. That game had actual clips from the 60's and 70's anime. Casshan also has had several anime series and a movie. Casshan is also the "grandaddy" of Mega Man. CVT is a very very rare gem. The more you peel back the layers on what I am saying you will see it is the perfect game to dissect on this channel. Please please consider.
Something about MVC 1 entices me. Maybe it’s the fact that it adheres to the six button layout versus the more simplified button layout of future entries, giving it more of SF feel. MVC 2 is still my favorite, but the first entry is gorgeous, most of the sprites are new, the backgrounds are better, and it just oozes with the nineties arcade panache that makes Capcom’s mid nineties fighters so nostalgic.

This is my favorite game in the franchise. I know not as balanced as x-men vs street fighter or MvsC 2. But this one I love because of the nostalgia. The music and art style just hits home for me. I spent so many quarters and hours at the pizzeria by my apartment that had this arcade machine with my friends.
Kinda bummed how he never mentioned Ken & Akuma were now part of Ryu. You could use 1 bar of the Super Meter and Ryu's gi would change to Ken or Akuma's gi color. He would then play as either of those two. That blew me away when I first played it.
For those who weren’t around, seeing this game in the arcades for the first was literally mind blowing. Super hero games (marvel specifically) weren’t that great at the time but Street Fighter was still a staple game so to see them together was out of this world
I had the PlayStation version of this game, & I could definitely utilize both characters & tag team functions as well & the soundtrack & gaming background was still amazing even when compared to the arcade version. Perhaps another one came out at a later time?

THGM, I encourage you to look in the sound test menu of this arcade game. There are voice samples of the announcer pronouncing some of the characters' names differently for different regions. (IIRC, there were different pronunciations Chun-Li and Zangief.)

This game had about the best presentation of all of them. I wish Marvel 2 hadn't gone with the 3d backgrounds and just built up on this great hand drawn visuals. I also almost dare say the series final bosses peaked here. Like no offence to Abyss and Ultron Omega but Onslaught was just great. Like the lines that were kinda corny in the comics "I reject your presence!" Were just cool, AND it didn't end with Ryu being drawn by Rob Liefeld so...👍 The bad thing about the boss it he's near impossible with certain characters so if you wanna see Zangief's ending...better come with a plan. I also admit that the music here is better than Marvel 2. I know it's by the same composer and all and I unironically liked the jazzy MVC2 tunes but... Gimme MVCs Chiptune sound anyday.
The original capcom music style was for each character to have it's own unique theme. This changed in mvc2 due to hardware restrictions, saving space, and of course meeting a deadline. I doubt 56 characters' unique themes would be possible to port to anything, maybe even today. 56 unique backgrounds would be something else entirely....
How do you get to that screen where you can watch all of the guest characters animations. Is it something only on the ps1 version? I have the Dreamcast

Of all the bosses, I agree, he was the toughest. Onslaught's AI was easy to bait.
Cyber Akuma was super cheap. Once you figure out Slaughts pattern then he is fairly easy

Mega Man games always got good reviews in UK magazines like C&VG and Mean Machines, I got Mega Man 3 for NES when it came out around 1992.
I used to save so many quarters to play street fighter vs X-Men in pizza hut. Such great memories.
