It's understandable, as it's been over 10 years since the last Rayman game, and there's literally nothing right now officially, even the mobile game Rayman Adventure is gone, so it literally seems like Ubisoft has no interest in keeping the series alive, also with the creator of Rayman leaving Ubisoft too. Ubisoft is mainly just focusing on free to play basically very unoriginal games to make a quick buck. Sad as Rayman is literally one of the most unique and charming games of all time. Shame amazing art is forgotten in the eyes of companies and even the public and the souless games that were made with almost to no passion gets all the attention and love.
The DS version of Rayman Raving Rabbids actually gave you the ability to either shoot energy spheres or throw your fist, but the former has an ammo counter. It's quite interesting that the idea was going to be a thing all the way back in Rayman 2, as many sources just stated that they just replaced the fist with the spheres because "they didn't know how to make it look good in 3D back then"
now we DESPERATELY. VERY VERY DESPERATELY. need to find playable early beta builds of rayman origins and legends! theres an insane amount of unused content in those two. origins has a whole GAMEs worth of unused content!
@@just_an_elli it definitely had impact and thats why we dont see many people asking for rayman remakes, rayman is forgotten and those 2d titles were forgettable

Yeah, they made a lot of good decisions between this demo and the full release. I wonder if removing the skid stop was their idea or if they listened to feedback following the demo...
@@corkben doubt it was a “feedback” thing, more likely them just figuring out what worked & what didn’t in the polishing stage. But the fact they included an animation for rayman slowing his momentum in the first place was a good indicator for the level of detail they where willing to showcase in rayman 2. And boy the final release delivered that aim.
the ugly ps1 version? with all the content removed? the definitive "finished" version of rayman 2? i completely disagree dude, it may have better sound, voice acting, beta content, its still an ugly game with half the original content cut from the game
@@guillaumefigarella1704 haha no worries. Thanks for actually going to the effort of rewatching and commenting again. Most people wouldn’t, so I appreciate it
I remember once playing a demo of Rayman M for PS2, it was a weird game because it has like a story thing that goes on, but it had you fighting a lot of bosses and races, all while collecting power-ups. I'm sure with this version of Rayman for PC can be booted from DOS Box, instead of a full boot environment of Windows 98 just to play, with just a few tweaks here and there.
I have Rayman M on PS2 and I agree it’s so weird. I’m gonna do a video on it soon because there’s a lot more bizarre things going on with that game than you might think, but yeah so weird haha
Thanks for watching everyone!

At this point people are desperate for ANY small bit of rayman.

This is very underrated, I loved the video. It's so cool seeing cut features actually play out, especially with the hands.

Those games are the reason rayman died. Rayman needs more 3D
the directional air blowing thing looks sooo interesting. I really enjoyed the Beta64 video on it. You are so right.

There is a mini version of that at the end of Rayman 2 on PS1. But I guess that’s been covered a lot and isn’t very big

God, yeah there could be so much missing Rayman goodness out there
Absolutely fantastic video! It's so interesting learning about how Rayman 2 changed in development!
There is actually an on-off switch in the level The Iron Mountains in Rayman 2 the Dreamcast version

I remember seeing an ign video where Rayman was throwing his fist and I spend hours trying to throw my fist
Now we need to see the Rayman 3 Beta my favorite Rayman game
Welcome or unwelcome, playable or not. Any new discoveries about the Rayman games is always just as fun to explore.
I feel like they could've kept the regular fist punches as a close range and stronger alternative to the energy beams, y'know?
damn that charge fist attack looks really cool. maybe they could have left it in the game and have it be really powerful but short range
Awesome video!
Happy 1000 subs man!
Wooooo! Thanks 🥳
Omg I just played Rayman 2 for the first time 😳
The artstyle was just as beautiful as the final build.
I was expecting it to be 2D like the bonus level
Oh dang, I thought this was going to be the leaked alpha of Rayman 4 that came out a year or two ago, which was also really fascinating.
I saw the footage, shit went hard
Rayman is an underrated classic

You gotta admit, the old life hud is more visually interesting than a solid bar at least

Hell yeah!
The skid stop looks horrible to control, lol thank god they changed that
Also Rayman’s noclip pose is very funny

Rayman Legends and Origins are 2 of the best platform games ever. It's criminal that we never got another. The music levels were incredible.
I wanted the platformer version of Rayman 4, I remember being so excited of the trailer, and then.. we didnt get it :(

ah, Rayman 2. Back when Ubisoft was a proper games studio and not the ridiculous mess that it is now.
Don't they still call it throwing the energy balls throwing fists in game?
Yes, it's referred to as the magic fist, same as in the original Rayman.
