    I bought an Aeromotive EFI conversion tank. It's the exact same tank from Tanks Inc, with different internals. Mine came fully assembled. I'm sure this is just as nice a tank, but it really should come assembled.

    • @travisbruce1775
      @travisbruce1775 6 лет назад +4

      EXACTLY, why the hell did they not just assemble it?

    • @qx4n9e1xp
      @qx4n9e1xp 5 лет назад +1

      @@travisbruce1775 The idea is that every car is going to have a different tank but the pump and fuel level parts are all the same. So it's easier to send the customer their specific tank and then toss in the universal pump parts with some instructions. If the tanks came pre-assembled for everyone, you can count on the prices of these tanks to skyrocket, because it's now gonna be added labor for the manufacturer.
      In the end, it's just better for everyone if the customer doesn't complain and does the install themselves. They might learn something.

    Very helpful video! But notice if you have a tank that is less the around 7" on the depth, you cannot use the top screw in the rheostat housing. having the top screw in, does not allow you to get high enough for the correct measurement. (~5 minutes 11 secs). I also had to move the wire lug on the bottom, to the side to get the height I needed. Mine went in a 64 Nova. There are a number of things that have apparently upgraded or improved in the kit, sense this video was made. I still recommend it.

    You bent the float arm assembly so it will fit down the hole with the rest of the fuel sender. I can see that it’s bent, you should have mentioned that in your video.

  • @joemadoo

    The video sure made it look easy. The way the level sender was adjusted in this video was way off and you bent the thing just to get it installed. The tank is full 1.5" above the height of the sensor unit. The rheostat needs to be much higher in the tank to be even close to giving a realistic reading and thus the bracket and plastic housing need to be modified quite a bit.

    A few things...
    Some of the fuel pumps do not have such a nice power connector .... they have simple spade type of connectors (Seems a little sketchy to have live wires with a raw type of connection in contact with fuel.
    The gaskets are not rubber but cork.
    Not all pumps, with sock installed, will sit so nice and level.
    He does not put the sleeve over the fuel pump before zip tying the return tube.

    What size and type fuel line and fittings do you get for the tank. I am doing a 1968 Camaro Conversion with the tank however I need to get the fittings and fuel line & return. There really is no kit I can find. Be nice if Holley included this with their tanks to simplify install.

    • @HolleyPerformance
      @HolleyPerformance  6 лет назад

      A kit would be handy, but there are just too many variables to take into consideration making it very difficult to make a kit to work with everyone's needs.
      The sender has ¼” NPT Supply and Return line ports. You can use either barbed or AN style fittings. Use only high pressure rubber fuel line that is rated for EFI pressures like our Vapor Guard and quality EFI rated clamps. www.holley.com/products/plumbing_an_fittings_and_hose/hose/vapor_guard_hose/parts/762055ERL
      Or if you are planning on using AN fittings you can use any of our quality fuel line with the corresponding fittings.
      www.holley.com/brands/earls/products/plumbing_an_fittings_and_hose/hose/
      5/16" and 3/8" are the most common size fuel lines used and should be matched to your engines fuel demands. Thx J

    Customer Service
    By john t. on January 11, 2022 |Pending Review. Awaiting Moderation.
    Just wanted to get a few points across as I’m writing this review about my newly installed Sniper EFI Part # 550-511 and 1967-72 Chevy/GMC Truck Under Bed Tank Part # 19-185. I know with these crazy times we are going through for ordering and then receiving car parts in a timely manner is sometimes incomprehensible. With that said, my order was placed on November 12, 2021. After a few phone calls to Holley inquiring about why my tank was taking too long I get this young girl on the phone, and she states that my tank was cancelled on November 18, 2021. Tank was only backordered until November 30, 2021. Now I have all my parts for this install including the Holley hose kit and its now December 21, 2021, when I find this information out. I called back minutes later to confirm this quote and talked to this tech (all parties unnamed included the tech that cancelled the tank). He states that it is true, and they won’t be getting any tanks in until late January of 2022. I asked the tech if I purchased the tank elsewhere if they would work with me on a credit back to my CC since it was their fault. He says, I think I can get something done but it won’t be until tomorrow, so I order the tank and sent in the email showing him I ordered the tank elsewhere. I’m sure this company was built on customer service when it was founded in 1896 by George and Earl Holley, Frank Holley’s sons in Bradford, Pa. and my hometown.

    Hey man! Talked to my higher ups and unfortunately a reimbursement is our of the question. Now I can possibly help a little on future orders and such. Usually in small amounts, but non the less I am more than happy to help in anyway I can if possible. I know this isn’t the answer we were hoping for but it’s the best I got. Sorry and thanks again for understanding with this whole situation.
    Long story short is to be aware of who you are dealing with and what they say to you at Holley. This company is too BIG and you’re just a NUMBER to them, not a customer. Regardless of where I bought the tank, they still made a sale. One last note, they had 1963-66 Chevy/GMC Truck Under Bed Tank Part # 19-184 in stock which is the same tank as the #19-185. I called to verify that, and no one knew of what I was talking about including the Holley Technical Sales supervisor. He wanted to tell me that the beds were different that why he didn’t think it would fit. It’s not the beds, they have the same frames. Holley gets all their tanks from Tank, Inc. They just put them in a Holley labeled box and when you take it out it says, Tanks, Inc. on the box and it’s stamped on the tank. Tanks Inc. list the tank for a 1963-1972 C10 truck and you can buy the whole set up cheaper through Tanks, Inc.
    www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=821/category_id=64/mode=prod/prd821.htm
    Tank, Inc. $510.25 compared to Holley $632.95. Right from the source.
