- First ever 2020 Shelby GT500 action at Willow Springs International Raceway! In this episode, we go head to head with the latest Porsche 911 GT3RS and a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. Does the base model 2020 GT500 with the optional handling package have what it takes to compete? Find out in this episode! As of now, we have officially taken the new GT500 across the country and raced it in every aspect! Drag strip, the road course, you name it! Here are my first impressions from my first time ever lapping my new base model 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500!

Im not a mustang fan but this thing is a monster, it can hang with the porsches on the track, and then absolutely destroy the porsches on the drag strip
What a load of BS. The G500 nor the GT350r at the Nürburgring could come close to these same cars. The 500 went 7:39 and the 350r went 7:32.
The ZL1 did 7:16 and tge GT3RS did 6:56. .
The Mustang isn't even the same league regardless if the GT500 or the purpose built GT350r.
This video shows a Mustang being thrashed while other cars aren't being driven as hard or as well.

@@Oreo_5oh not really, the Track Pak is the one with the Cup 2's this one has performance Michelin but nothing compared to cup 2's.

Hang in the corners, and blow them away on the straight. That's how you do it. Kudos to you for actually tracking the car, and doing it well. Willow Springs is more of a tight, technical track and you did incredibly well on it. You've already put in more track time than 90% of the guys who will buy the GT500 ever will.
I believe the Streets of Willow ,right next door , is the technical track whereas this one is basically a high speed track .

True dat. The cars were pretty evenly matched but who knows what was installed on the GT3RS? Could have been running Michelin Cup 2’s with a carbon fiber brake setup. Great video tho big fun had by all

A lot of Porsche owners will be regretting their decision to plunk down 200k, being beat on track by a car that apparently can’t turn 😂😂😂, Ford really stepping up their game with the GT/GT350/GT500. Mustang guy, but will be interesting to see the 2021 ZO6 mid engine on the track as well.
You definitely deserve to have this car your driving is great and your using the car how it was supposed to be used

Great video. Considering no Cup 2 tires and I'm guessing your first time out. That car is a track monster. The dual clutch automatic transmission sounded spot on. What an amazing all around Mustang. It's does it all extremely well. Besides being a beautiful Mustang. It's A solid Daily driver. A strong car at the Drag strip and the track. @@raionshishi8290 Sorry I don't know exactly what the track record is. But that $187,000 + purple 911 GT3RS was not pulling away on the straights ! He couldn't shake the GT500 Which IS IMPRESSIVE ! Willow Springs is 2.5 miles with 9 turns and no banking in the turns . 1.33 sec lap time is hauling ass ! I wonder what Auston's best time is in the 350R ?

BTW, I think you nailed it about the GT350R. It's going to be interesting seeing the comparisons between the GT500 and GT350. Track footage is great but would really prefer that you used audio from inside (the trunk can often work well). The audio is a bit distorted and doesn't really represent the real deal I think. Otherwise pretty cool! just a constructive criticism :)

I think people are having a major misunderstanding of what that car is , because of the zero to sixty time. For example it's a mid 11 car and so it's the equivalent to a Tesla fast to 60 slow asf after.
Randy Smith yeah you’re close, actually 1.5 secs faster around the track with almost 300 hp diff. The base c8 eats that stangs ass in the corners and when the z06 hits, look out.

The guy driving the gt3rs is a buddy of mine and the car was a rental. Turns out the oil in the car was half soap and obviously put the car in limp mode😬😬. It always cracks me up when he talks about this.

@@jasonpermenter6765 Can we address the fact that the Porsche is way lighter then the GT500, costs a HELL OF A LOT more, has a better balance, and let's also address the fact that this is only the GT500 base model, not even close to what the track pack is capable of, that thing will crush these cars if the base model is giving them a run for their money.
You need to get harry's laptimer grand prix in the app store. It'll allow you to put overlays on your videos with g-forces, where you are on the course and speed. It doesn't work with 4k video right away but I've got a work around for it if you get it. It's only like $25

You can really see the difference from the 350 when coming out of the corners down the straightaway. This in my opinion is the only issue with the 350 is that ability to keep up on the straight always. Ford has really stepped up there came over the last 5 years. These cars are very driver focused and very capable

Finally track racing now I'm subbed the GT3 RS got as little loose on the turns around 3:50 mark, your car is a beast at power management 2nd gear pushing close to 70mph on the curves wow, nice job on the driving very impressed, considering the Porsche cost close too 200k

@@williamgibson959 Maybe, but the Cup 2s will not be user friendly for everyday use considering the weight of the car and wet roads, most car enthusiast that I've seen on line use the Cup 2s on lighter cars, me personally I've only seen them on the Ford Focus RS, they very popular with that car,
