So many kayak anglers have their setups tricked out with crazy customs. Damian is probably the best out there, and his setup is simple. Love it! PVC, Zip ties, and Duct tape is all you need to kick ass.
@@Danxiong You're right. Looking at his equipment closely, he's got some expensive gear in there. I know I'd be able to build a similar setup for much cheaper though.
I hope you know I'm the guy in the yellow asking you what your channel is. We've fished that waterfall by the rapids. You've met the best fisherman and you didn't even know it. I knew it was you just by the rod alone. Trust me that I am that skilled.
Damian it's awesome you finally went through your Yak setup. Please paint your live scope arm black. 🤣 🤣 You're truly one of the best anglers in C.A. I've added all my accessories little by little, over 5 years. I also keep my fins on board, but rarely use them. Motors, electronics, safety equipment, lights, batteries, and other accessories. Awesome vid bro. 💯 😎 🏆
Great setup. Been there, done that. Had Pa 14, Now on Seadoo fishpro trophy. You should think about crossing over. Yeah spent alot of money on Hobie and setups. Enjoyed it but Jetski fishing is another level of fishing. Quicker getting any location and way more stable. Be safe out there...
Damian out here focusing on snapping necks and cashing checks. While some kayak anglers have over complicated, super fancy setups but can't catch shit.
I created “The Tanker” Kayak…it’s a Super Kayak with two built-in AUTO-pilot electric motor pushing out 30lb. Centralized battery pack, Built-in POV Nav/fish finder and a retractable rain/wind cover. It’s a true boat killer….lol!
Awesome, thanks for sharing Damian! The most common question I get about my kayak is how much does it cost? I hate answering that though because I've been doing it for many years now and I've bought and upgraded items slowly over that time. Plus when I get a new boat it isn't like I'm selling all my accessories / motors / electronics / batteries that I have which technically cost far more than the boat itself.
@damian how do you deal with the water level offset? I switched from humminbird to lowrance and im tired of always having to re shade my map to see the shallows
To determine which side of the boat your seeing in the dark... coming head on toward another boat at night if you see red then you know he's turning right, if you see green then he's turning left... if it was just one color or any color then you wouldn't know what's going on...
Why not just go buy a oldtown autopilot 120. Rhwy are just biult better with a lifetime warranty. Way more storage on that kayak. I know its a heavier kayak but you do have a trailer. Get rid of all the extra time that it takes to load and unload your equipment. That alone would save you time. So many batteries, conections, etc. 5 batteries.
@Danxiong was really referring to the storage and the warranty of the kayaks. you say, getting to the spot first like you own that water ,that spot, that fish. Who's to say I can't pull up next to you 5 min after you get there, fish all the same spots next to you and catch the bigger fish using different lures. I do believe there aren't any rules regarding that other than ethical reasons. Or launch and fish right near the boat ramp, catch the biggest and most fish, and win the tournament . Going fastest, farthest, doesn't guarantee anything other than a piece of mind. Sometimes, you think you're making the right choices in lures only to find out the fish wanted a Ned to eat but never tied it on. I guess that's called fishing. Tight lines.
@ImionsaeXwb77 yes. thats true. I bank fish mostly and I spend alot on my gears and lures. i always wanted to make the jump into kayak fishing so I can get off the bank lol.
I don't know man. You probably have almost invested as I do in my Ranger 520. I get it, you have your channel and all but most of us don't have that. Most viewers on a budget should just buy a $300 aluminum boat and invest a couple grand max and have a way more capable fishing machine then any plastic wanna be boat.

Which is why I'm surprised he says it's a 20k build lol. Pvc LS pole. Lower end rods, etc. Now, I thoroughly believe he's the best kayak angler in CA.
@@1221Ralphit’s around 20k.
Kayak, graphs, live scope, motors, batteries. That alone is close to 20k already.

DT is legit the man spends his money on what makes him happy.
Dudes self discipline is impeccable, using only tournament money to pay for his setup and everything. Admirable for sure
Damn bro! What a beast of a kayak for the best kayak fisherman in the west coast! Sheeesh
Great video! Can’t wait to see you on the water.

Nah. Painted pvc chips and ends up looking worse.
Efficient setup, very simple and meets your needs for tournament fishing. I like the setup.
I’m really impressed with your kayak setup. Nothing fancy too.
Damian still killed it with all the duct tap !!!! No need fancy stuff 😂 it work 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Loved this video! A lot of upcoming kayak fishermen need to see this...very inspiring

Awesome setup! Do you think you’ll ever do a rod/reel lineup video?
Would you be interested in it? May consider doing a rod and reel arsenal video
Would love to see your rod and reel arsenal! Always inspiring thanks
Yes! Please do it!
@@dthao92 Mr. Damian . . . I 4th that! Would love to see your rod and reel setups / arsenal.
@@dthao92yes please!
i think its hilarious that you bring your own forward facing setup as a co angler. that's pretty slick. are the pros surprised to see that?
Curious, what fishing rod comes apart like that?
People on here hating just mad that Damian caught 10 lbs bass on his kayak, and these haters cnt land a 5 lbs on their tracker, lol
Thanks for the tour.

How much your live scope sit up cost ?
Is a green and red light required? I see all the kayaks with green and red. Why not other colors?

When are you going to teach me how to fish?
That's understandable. I spent over 20k on just electronics and trolling motor.

It’s a little slow. I believe going under 4mph. In tournaments it’s crucial get to ur spot first and cover water more efficiently.

1-2mph isn't much different in a kayak

What size ram ball mount is that on your fish finders? I use YakAttack mounts and it wobbles alot!
If I was going to spend that much money on a small plastic boat, I'd invest in a bass boat that has a lot more to offer fishing wise!
And your going to brag about it !
nice setup!! but man its so costly.
Nothing about fishing is cheap.. Even a Bank Fisher spend money on his Ugly Stick and Mitchell reel.
@ImionsaeXwb77 yes. thats true. I bank fish mostly and I spend alot on my gears and lures. i always wanted to make the jump into kayak fishing so I can get off the bank lol.
If your serious about fishing get a boat instead.. I fish by myself most time cause everyone is busy when i can fish but i still do it..
Damien Gorilla Tape is much better , and its black instead of that ugly grey lol just sayin man. Thanks for the video bro 👍
