Let us be completely honest here bros, the worst thing about Ozzy songs with Randy is "ozzy's singing." It is just the plainest, more boring, bland, singing ever. His voice just isn't really made for Randy's stuff, but his voice fits great with Black Sabbath.

I started playing guitar in 2009 and after a few years I started to lose interest. I learned many songs from many bands and none really inspired me. Then I heard Crazy Train. Randy Rhoads inspired me to keep going. Now after attending concerts, discovering more/new bands. Randy is still the greatest guitarist (imo). That man played his instrument with straight purpose. He didn't fuck around. All respect to Randy and the remainder of the Rhoads family.

Even though it was a short life that he had to meet, he still the greatest guitar player that ever lived. We were robbed so badly by that plane crash. His soul is just draw me in where I go to another place. It’s just so amazing and his solo on revelation mother Earth is by far my favorite, but he also did some really good work on the quiet riot years and him also being a classically trained guitarist I mean he was so much more than a heavy metal guitar player so much more.

Already having picked up the guitar on his own. If I remember correctly, he asked his mom if he could take some guitar lessons from their teacher at his mothers music school. After like a year and a half. The teacher told Mrs Rhoads that it was time for Randy to find new avenues regarding the guitar. He had already mastered everything that their teacher had to teach! I don’t think Randy had his 16th birthday yet. That is so unbelievably unheard of and respectfully honest of the teacher to admit that. My mom taught piano lessons in our home for years. Nobody ever challenged her for knowledge until there was nothing more to learn! I didn’t even know Randy’s background other than he was classically trained. It would’ve been cool to grow up across the street from them. All the aspiring musicians that came and went over the years. When I do leave this life. I would really like to meet him. I hope it’s possible!

Years later i was present for Kurt Cobain's last show in Seattle, then Jerry Garcia's a few years later. May all three R.I.P.

Randy was an amazing musical mind. The solo he put down on record for this song was so difficult, that he stopped trying to play it live. When asked at a guitar clinic held at a music store in the eighties about that last run, (there is audio of the session somewhere here on youtube) he replied, "yeah, its in f# minor, i dont remember, i dont really play that live anymore."
