Woohoo getting into those Arboreals!!! Yeah Psalmopoeus can be pretty wicked fast. I’d be interested to see what it does with that enclosure. They normally web from the bottom in my experience but are very opportunistic so it may get really creative in there. I didn’t know what fast was until I got my first P Cambridgei. Beautiful species. Also those others are gonna be gorgeous little additions as well.
You improvised well. I know the feeling. My last transfers could have been less harrowing, but then again much more harrowing. And I had forgotten to eat that day.
Psalmopoeus is probably my favorite genre of tarantula. I have what sum would dub a sub adult p irminia that just recently molted and has given me her very first threat posture earlier. It was so cute I had to take a pic of it. She use to be really sweet but I guess I can kiss that goodbye, lol. So fiesty, lol. Loved the video Kat!!! Congratulations on your new additions to. Tyfs God bless you
Congrats on your new Ts! That went like every single one of my rehousings! Hahaha! Don't you just love those Container Store boxes for the smaller aboreals? They look great!
Yeah, they can crack easily when you are making ventilation holes... I cracked one a little, too. But as long as there are no pieces missing and you can cover the crack with décor, it's a pretty easy fix.
My P. cam was about that size when I got it and was my first time seeing a T teleport first hand. Spooky fast. It's only gotten more attitude after its first molt, good luck!
I did run across a fellow which had crossbred P irminia and P Cambridgei and posted pics. There's nothing wrong with a hybrid!! Please don't ice the spider!! The only thing is that if you don't know the species, just don't send it off to a breeder. (If you don't want a hybrid, I'll give him or her a home.) Odds are that as it grows and the adult coloration comes in, you'll know what it is. P irminia is a drop dead gorgeous tarantula.
Great video Kat! Btw just got a tripod for my video camera and my iPhone so hope to get vids goin soon. Also I’m getting 3 new spiders ordered soon from palp friction. P. Pterinochulous, p. Metallica, and king baboon forgot genus name. Lol 😂
yay psalmopoeuses :)) the first spider i got was a psalmopeoeus cambridgei and i dont care what anyone says about old world tarantuals being fast i dont think anything can be faster than my psalmopoeus i dont think Ive ever even seen it actually walk it just disappears from one place and suddenly its somewhere else it so nearly escaped when I rehoused it it was total luck I was trying to get it into a cup and it turned around and bolted right into its new enclosure instead :D Ive got an orange biter too and its sooo easy to move around compared to Psally
How do you feed your slings with that type of enclosure? I have those type of amac and planning to make an arboreal set up but i dont know which part is the top or bottom lol i hope you can gove me some tips. Thank you :$
That is ECACTLY what my obt did and I'm glad you did what I didn't, cuz usually when I fed him he just sits there but before I got the lid on of course the roach spooked him so he was GONE 🙄 now he is lost forever still haven't found him 💔
!!I've got one of them little tiny guys from Palp Friction too! Our spiders are siblings!! Lololol Dude! He ate a Small dubia that was as big,if not bigger than it! Haha, mines in the tiny dram vial the sent the others in😂 Palp Friction Rocks!!9
What were you using for the terrestrial enclosures? Hobby Lobby? if so which one? I know the arboreal one is from the container store. Also where did you get your hides for those enclosures?
I have thought about this too, but hobbyists have been using it for as far back as I know and haven't had any ill effects. I regularly use hot glue in all my arboreal enclosures without problems, and that much isn't really more than usual, it's just really messy d: I do think it's a good idea to let it sit for at least 5-10 minutes to dry and air out a bit before moving a tarantula in. Once it's completely dry it is odorless and solid
That P. cambridgei really gave you a run for your money 😂🤣
Exotics lair style

Any concern the hot glue in that amount could be harmful to the tenant?
