True! Best of both worlds AND the option for on/off. But I wonder what this does to the drive, would be very interesting to compare this back to back with a touring and gt3 with the wing off and on!
I agree and it's less complex. Not sure what happens or aero balance, however. I'd like a 1973 "ducktail" spoiler as long as I could get the Op-Art seat inserts.
It’s a shame they took away the little “duck tail” that sits under the GT3’s wing, that would look great on the touring, though maybe mess up the airflow with the extendable wing. Would look great though, and defo, rear seat option is a must!!!! 🙏🏻
you're probably right about the airflow. That duck tail is designed for the swan neck. If anything they could have designed another duck tail that's designed specifically for the turing.
Agreed Stefan, a duck tail designed for the touring would finish off the back beautifully. Even just a small lip like sits below the wing on the gt3 would make the rear of the car that little bit more aesthetically pleasing and special looking.
Great video. I totally agree with having rear seats! That’s why I’ve still got my 991.1 GTS because of the normally aspirated engine and the rear seats for the times the Mrs needs the family car and I need to take the kids out. Please give us a family GT3!!! 😄
I have a 2016 GT3 and totally agree with those who would like a rear seat. I may not need it often but it would be nice to have when I do. It's not like it's going to take away from it's track-focused theme, it's already pretty apparent. Want really track-focused? Go GT3RS.

Totally agreed, many of us need a GT cars with 4 seats so young kid can also enjoy it. Please pass on our wishes to Porsche. Hope one day I can have 4 seats GT3.
i am slight confused the purpose of touring model. it is about touring many places and long distance. if you want time attack in track then winged GT3 with PDK, but if I want touring then it would be 6 speed, 18 ways sport seat with rear seat to enjoy scenic drive with comfort....... i wish rear seat option available in touring....
I always wondered why Porsche didn’t offer rear seats for the GT3 touring free of charge… it makes a lot of sense. Daily car, kids to school, and race car when you are on your own… please Porsche, listen to our demands!!!!!!!
Ok, but that gets compromised by the ultimate coolness. If you're not a race car driver i'm sure it's sufficient lol... I'd choose the touring any day of the week. Both in 991 and 992.
my favorite car.. agree should have backseat.. i would go manual though.. will be more fun in the long run even though shifting with the pdk stick looked really fun..
I'm not sure about the painted front. The diffusor is still in black and with the front in colour and the back not... They just should give you the option to have it in colour or not, so you could choose what you prefer. I mean I'm nowhere near to be able to afford one of these but I would have chosen the touring first until I saw that bespoken option is not available. Right now I actually think that there should be a GTS with the n/a engine and with a more comfortable ride.
One thing that's cool about the normal GT3 and GT3 Touring PDK version is that you can basically turn off the soft limiter. The way to do that is to pull both paddles at the same exact time, at a standstill and then you can rev your GT3 all the way to 9,000 rpm.
You say the touring has the same down force as the GT3 without the rear wing. What is the benifit of the wing then? Just wondering not being picky. PDK every time. Love the car.
Totally agree. Have those seats in my GT4 and they are too upright with too little padding for long distance driving (great for the track). They are also a pain for getting in and out. I make the effort to do it without scuffing the leather but my passengers will not know how to and couldn’t be bothered!
you a pleasure to look at, your comments are so pure and so useful, thanks for sharing. I do like your tastes which are awesome btw. Have a superb day, Erik Kessels
A Fantastic Sounding PORSCHE 992 GT3 indeed! Choose the Manual because PDK Automatic is Expensive to Maintain in the long run! Stay Safe & Stay Grateful!
I wish the ducktail remained on the GT3 Touring that's on the standard GT3 (a 'swan' tail perhaps?). The top video for '992 GT3 wing removal' shows a lava orange 911 that looks so much sportier than the touring, to me anyway. Absolutely beautiful cars either way.
I have never understood why Porsche dont offer removable rear seats for the 911, it would be basically 4 small cushions to click in/out and the seat belt can be left you could then just use one seat , both or none
@@hamSAH713 yes, you configure and send to an authorized porsche dealer. And they wanted $50-$60k over sticker. If You agree the mark-up then they will place an order for you the car coming next year!

Completely agree with the suggestion of having rear seats in the Touring edition. I was expecting that it would!
Rear seat won't happen given having to rebalance suspension with added weight for compliance
I don't think so. The downforce of the swan neck at high speed is about as much as two rear passengers.
I can throw 80kg of luggage in the back and its fine. Why cant that 80kg be human instead of shirts, trousers etc.
