I worked as a director at this fine hotel in the mid 1980's running the audio video services department. A great staff, in a great hotel...Great memories...

That is really cool! Did you work on conventions/meetings spaces? We love this hotel and always have had a good experience staying. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@@AnaheimParkTourist Hi, yes, we worked mainly in the numerous meeting rooms and convention space, from 1984 to 1988. Our company was the audio visual subcontractor to Doubletree. We were treated just like hotel staff. Awesome experience!...Back then, Doubletree Hotels was not yet owned by Hilton, and the hotel hosted a DoubleTree General Managers convention there in Orange. For that G.M. special dinner event we set up a large laser light show and sound gear in 'Dover's', which was the first class restaurant, with a 40' high ceiling. There was a chocolate chip cookie competition, and every GM brought 5 dozen of their location's chocolate chip cookies. Though the cookie recipe used was the same, the cookies all looked and tasted a bit different. Every Doubletree had great cookies! I think there were about 30 Doubletree Hotels then. The other main restaurant was called Napa. I believe both restaurants were renamed in the 2000? In the mid 80's, the near unlimited parking was free, hotel access was easy, and the hotel hosted many convention guests who travelled to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. Great place to work with a great staff. I wonder if anyone on staff is left there in that Doubletree Orange, from that era?

We definitely like queen beds, The amenities seem great! Chocolate chip cookies are definitely a plus! Loved the outside area as well!

The double beds are getting harder now that our oldest will be 13 in a couple of weeks and the boys are getting bigger. We actually prefer queen beds over all other types. We hold hands when we go to sleep and in king beds you are too far from one another to do that! Thanks for watching.

This is our go to hotels when hotels near Disneyland are more expensive. Decent room for the rate paid and sometimes the savings means an extra day at the park!

🏰Enjoyed your reveal and room tour of your top secret inexpensive Disneyland Hotel! We appreciated the pros and cons, like the travel time for walking, and requesting a room on the other side of the building due to traffic noise! Always great to get the free Double Tree Cookies at check in!!! Cool Tip that it makes for a great arrival night hotel before transitioning the next morning into a Disneyland Resort Hotel!!! Great Travel Reporting Coverage of the Double Tree Orange, California!!!

Our goal is to provide information on the hotel tours. People can have different experiences (quiet or noisy) and different expectations. That is why we like to show the rooms and give all the information possible. The cost of this hotel is generally inexpensive and makes it one of the cheapest full service hotels near Disneyland. Thank you for watching.

Great video! This is more or less exactly what I would expect from a DoubleTree. Love those rates and I agree it's not for everyone, but I can definitely see making that work for me.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  3 года назад +1

Completely agree, it is a bargain basement price near Disneyland. If you are on a tight budget, this is a great option for a full service hotel. Being further away from Disneyland there is less noise from smaller children. Thank you for watching!

Meets most of the criteria we look for clean and cheap. It can get noisy with the hospital and the highway but overall not too bad. Thank you for watching.

Hi guys, great video as always. We'll be in a anaheim in August.
    Having trouble picking a hotel.
Thought we'd ask you guts for advice. Will be there from 11th to 13th.
What do you think of Days inn & suites by Wyndham anaheim at disneyland Park. You're feedback would be great. We are travelling from Sydney Australia, and it's our first at Disney.

There are a few hotels we will not cover based on user reviews, this hotel is one of them. Since this is your first trip, I just want to warn you about the cheaper hotels in the area. A large number of them are run down. Here are some reviews of the hotel, I encourage you to read some of the negative reviews. It appears they have insect issues, dirty rooms, and paper thin walls. www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g29092-d75637-Reviews-or10-Days_Inn_Suites_by_Wyndham_Anaheim_at_Disneyland_Park-Anaheim_California.html#REVIEWS
We know going to Disney is very expensive and if you are trying to save a bit on hotels, check out the following:
      We have videos on these:
Kings Inn Anaheim: You can sometimes get this hotel fairly cheap and it is decent for the price. This is still a no frills hotel. Located about 1.6 km from Disneyland.
Alamo Inn: Decent hotel but located quite for from Disneyland, about 1.6 km
Hotel 414: There is a nearby ART shuttle you can take. This hotel prices vary wildly. If you can get it cheap, take advantage of it. It is quiet and the owner is very nice. About 1.6km walk.
We don't have videos on the following.
Best Western + Pavilions We stayed here long ago and had a positive stay. It is further away than Alamo Inn but located in the same area. Has included breakfast.
Best Western + Stovalls- We have had friends stay here and enjoy there stay. Includes a hot breakfast. Almost next door to Alamo Inn and if you look at our walking video, we walk right by Stovalls.
Since this is your first trip, we would encourage you stay a bit closer. Being close is just more enjoyable.
Check out the following hotels if they are in your budget, we do have videos on all of them:
      Tropicana
      Camelot
      Howard Johnson
      Grand Legacy Luxury room
      Home2 Suites -Free breakfast
Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim (on Manchester)
Both BW+ includes breakfast. They are a bit noisy which is our main complaint.
Best Western + Park Place Inn
      Best Western + Mini Suites
We hope this helps and gives you a starting point. We are more than happy to help further.

Nice hotel but I think the road & hospital noise would put me off unfortunately.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  3 года назад +1

It is a decent place for the cost. I usually pack ear plugs or headphones to take care of loud noises.
Even in the Harbor area it is hard to find a dead quiet hotel. We have noticed an uptick in cars with very loud exhaust in the Anaheim area.
The quietest places that we have stayed at are the DLR properties, the Hilton Anaheim Convention center, and the JW Marriott.
