I have been experiencing intense DP/DR for a month now. I continually questioned whether I was even alive. It's terrifying being afraid of your own brain and feeling like you'll never get yourself back. What was a 24/7 feeling now only comes in episodes, shorter by the day. Listen to this daily, try yoga, find a routine, the more normality you implement the more normal you will feel. This isn't your life, this is just a feeling that will pass.

@chris Morrison its not accepting it persay, if you mean in terms of accepting its existence. More specifically accepting what its doing. When it hits me and i start loosing my senses, i let it come, i let it do its thing and i pay it no mind (it gets worse when i do) and i start a conversation with someone, doesnt matter who, as long as its ab something else. Get distracted with something else, thats the main way i got through it.

@@ashleyriosrizo Oh thanks for asking! I'm getting better, I've come to accept the "strange feeling" -- I often tell myself: "this is a normal physiological phenomenon, possibly due to trauma.. a protective mechanism for my emotions..."
I've trained myself to take the fear out of it, not obsess over it endlessly...I try to do everything I normally do and have come to think "a little fucking madness can't hurt, in fact it's necessary to survive in this world." OTHER tips: grounding, being creative, breathing (belly exerices), fixing my nervous system, magnesium, and just accepting that the whole nature of "reality", the divine and universe is a mystery and will stay a mistery, we can examine ourselves and the world, we can get glimpses of the All that we cannot grasp... and we can live (express) and experience our inner poetry.

I started crying straight away and as weird as it sounds my brain clicked a little as I looked at my hands I saw them as my hands as my friends as my healers and I started to cry moving them in the splash motion used to help brain fog.. I've felt this sonce I was 13 and I am forever living in a movie...people have passed away around me and I have recognition of it but I feel like it's not real because I'm not real??.. It's all to do with the brain a part of it switches off when trauma or anxiety takes over and so it tried to protect you by making you feel it's not real but we need to get that part of the brain to switch back on as we don't need to be protected any more.. We have the strength to handle it now.. I feel so blessed to have found others n this comment section we need to talk about this more.. so maby are suffering in our heads and our brains are either our friends or our enemies. Btw derealization is always a symptom and not a cause and the cause is almost always something that happened in the past, so find out what it is, work on it, and i swear, you will find alot of joy again.

I just wanted to leave a comment of hope for the people scrolling through the comment section anxiously. I went through DP/DR as a younger girl and recovered with such a beautiful love for my life and my mind was completely liberated. After smoking weed recently which was what triggered it in the first place I am back with a lighter version of an episode. However I have given in completely and surrendered, meditated, manifested love and healing, found gratitude in the smallest corners of my everyday life and what probably helped me the most was exercise! Balance is key when it comes to this. It is your mind telling you slow down, take care of yourself. I am still living a beautiful life while enduring this version of DP/DR and have confidence that this came into my life to help me reevaluate the person I am and the life I lead. Take this as an opportunity to balance and heal yourself from your past. Sending so much love to everyone experiencing this. It’s scary but like he said, you got this.

I'm stuck in my mind, over thinking and causing my panic and anxiety attacks, I've had it since last year in April. Haven't had a break, not even a split second, how I wish to return back to normal, no panic, no dizziness, no feeling of worry or fainting, not being afraid to drive or thinking I'll lose my mind, thinking I'm having a heart attack or I'm going to have a stroke, cardiac arrest, or tumor, or something that well kill me instantly. I just want to enjoy life again. Over a year and a half and I'm just over it. Almost 2 years living like this and I can't with the feeling, I want myself back. Please, I'd never wish this upon my worst enemy. Makes living hard and trying to function feel like I'm suffering, I can't work or nothing because every day I feel like I'll pass out or faint in panic and my heart will stop at any time.

Okay, so for the first time in 3 months, I have felt a PIECE OF REALITY!!!!! I listened to this video with the lights off, my eyes closed and laying in the bed. I started crying. It hit home. As I started to feel hopefull, a weird sensation overwhelmed my body. It felt like I was having a panic attack. I got scared but I remembered that, for the first time in a long time, I felt happy and I believed in myself. My body started to convulse just like my panic attacks, but I listened to these words and it filled my heart with joy. The video was starting to end and I noticed a bug on my phone. I turned my flash light on, and looked at the wall. IT WAS THE CLEAREST THING I'VE SEEN IN A MINUTE. Nothing has made me budge, up until this point. I'm a hardheaded thinker. My thoughts would literally eat me up to the point where I would have a panic attack, and I wouldn't know where I am, who I am, and what time it was. (I'm speaking in past tense cuz all of this is gonna be behind, I'm accepting it but I am not claiming it. I have it, but it is not mine to keep) I am so grateful for you, and for this video. I'm going to listen to this everyday. I'm scared but I am the only one that can put a stop to this. *THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!!!!*

I have been experiencing dp/dr for a while now. It started for real during the various COVID lockdowns but have been with me most of my life, though. This mediation and the affirmations are really soothing words when I’m in the dark place. I actually cried the first time I heard this, mostly because I felt heard myself. To anyone suffering from this, I can tell you that metacognitive therapy really helped me. Actually I didn’t go into actual therapy sessions but read the book by Adrian Wells. The basic message is, as in this meditation, that if you don’t fight the thoughts and bodily sensations but let them “pass through you” your mind will get back to normal by itself. I know for any of us who have really suffered bad from dp/dr, this sounds ridiculous or even as some sort of magic trick, but for me it really worked. The first day I started reading the book I felt a little better. I still go back and forth from the dark place, but I go less and less often now.
There is hope! There is a way out this!

Guys I have had this for over a year now when I became depressed. I thought I was going to be stuck like this forever. I had many challenges in my daily life because of it. But by changing my life style and opening up about my emotions I started to really get breaks from my DPDR and I know it’s possible to find yourself again. Now I’m slowly finding my way back already everyday. You guys will also get out of this, don’t give up hope

Thank you so much for this meditation. It always make me feel better and i feel instant relief immediately. I struggle with extreme DPDR and anxiety for third year now. I am only 17 years old. But your videos help me feel even little bit more like myself, like a human, and take me back to reality and presence. I have a really long road in front of me, but i am so grateful that you can accompany me on the path to healing❤

I started to have derealization/depersonalization when I was 8. I am now 17 and I don't really remember how real life feels like. Sometimes my dreams feel more real than the actual real world...
Anyway, it doesn't stop me from trying to be more and more satisfied and happy with my life everyday ! 😁

Im sobbing thank you for this
My biggest mental health struggles or disorders are Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Panic Attacks, but I might apparently have something called “Quiet BPD” it’s not confirmed yet
But it’s subtype of BPD which makes me go internal.
I didn’t know about disassociation until recently
    But I super needed this
I had a super tough day yesterday
And 😢 emotionally shut down because my anxiety couldn’t handle something that super overwhelmed me, at the time I tried to make it through but I guess I’m just struggling. Pretty bad right now.
Thanks for the affirmations this really helped

I have been struggling with DP/DR for a almost a year now. The first time it happened I begged my boyfriend to take me to a mental hospital because I thought I was going insane.
I took a week off of work and worked on meditation, breathing techniques and distracting myself.
Anxiety can trick your brain, just breath and now that you’re safe.
It will come in waves, some days you’ll be better and some days it’ll be worse. But every time it gets bad it gets easier to deal with. I always say to myself ‘it’s okay you’ve been through this before, you are strong and you can do this’.
Don’t be hard on yourself, this is a lot to deal with and that fact you are still here mean you’re incredibly strong and deserve more than anyone to have an amazing life.
Keep going guys! You’ve got this ❤

Ebbay Channel like I get itchy feelings and I was shaking due to how tense my mind and body was. It also helps my body relax cool down and my memories started coming day by day and I also introduced a lymphatic massage by my ear and the side of the head which helped drain out mucus and helped the memories come faster.

I've had this for more than 5 years (still have it). I can't enjoy anymore the things I used to like so much. I can't focus on anything, on anyone. I forget everything so easily and I feel so tired all the time. Even my vision feels different, my eyes are tired all the time, I wake up and after 1 hour I'm already tired. I keep telling myself that this will pass but sometimes it feels like it will be forever here and I'll never be able again to see reality as it really is... but still, I won't give up. To anyone reading this: you should never give up. We will get through this. I'm sure of it.

Been under high stress lately and it's made me regress in my mental health journey. Although that's understandable and I accept that, it has caused me such bad brain fog and disassociation. I feel like I'm functioning on autopilot, I can't remember anything, and I stumble on my words. I get scared that something's really wrong with me. It put me in such a bad panic but this video really helped me tonight. Thank you.
