========= Talvisota LYRICS =========
Rise of nations pride
Russians on a route to ruin
Kreml is more then certain to win
Sent away an army to the west
Blizzard reigned the ground were chosen
Snow was deep and hell were frozen
Stalin were too eager to invade
He thought of the might he possessed
And not of his foe
Rage of winter
Rise, nations pride
Hold whats yours
Strike’em were it hurts
Fight, hold your ground
Winter war
Reinforce the line
Split them into small divisions
Rip ’em of the conquest visions
Motti tactics used with great result
Snipers move unseen in snowfall
Force them to retreat and recall
Fight the Russian rule and their demand
With Molotov cocktail in hand
No fear of their tanks
Death or glory
A slice of a knife to a throat
And their blood turns to ice
TALVISOTA!
========= Historic Fact ==========
On November 30, 1939, the Winter War, referred to in Finnish as Talvisota, began. This battle was a military conflict between the Finns and the Soviet Union. Finland’s tiny army held off the Soviets for a few weeks before they were brought to their knees. Talvisota ended on March 13, 1940.

Russia just threatened war against Sweden and Finland; Oh boy round 2
“Don’t quote me on this, but...” - Sun Tzu, The Art of War
What did the snow say to the unsuspecting Soviet?
Today at my work at a Swedish museum I met a 98-year-old veteran from Talvisota, it was so fascinating
My 2 yo granddaughter is gonna be way ahead in history class. She loves Sabaton !
”The soviet union has the most powerful army in the world”
"If you know yourself, but not your foe, for every victory you will also suffer a defeat."
Sabaton should do more Finnish history
"A slice of a knife to a throat, and their blood turns to ice,
Soviets: attacks Finland
Soviet Union: We have an army.
I have never heard one single bad song from Sabaton - there's never a track I would skip on a playlist ever, and when I recommend to other people, I just tell them to listen to any song that comes up, cause I'm so certain it'll always be a kneebanger.
Finland is a great nation, I can feel nothing but pride and admiration for its people. May the noble heroes who fought for their homeland rest in peace.
Finnish Infantry: is familiar with the terrain, can attack and defend in small groups holding off mechanized infantry for days.
This song holds a special place in my heart, for my great grandma was one of the children that fled from Finland to Sweden alone during the war. Although she was older than most at 16, I can't imagine what it must have felt to leave her family and country, going into a place completely unknown to her that spoke a completely different language, even at her age.
Now we got the Spring War of 22
"A slice of a knife to a throat and their blood turns to ice TAL-VI-SO-TA!"
My partner is Finnish, I sent this to her and the amount of pride she had was infectious.
Even with a great cost this war showed Stalin few things: he changed Voroshilov for Timoshenko as Comander and Minister, and Timoshenko was far better general than Voroshilov; it helped reorganize the headquarters and start again in a hurry to train officers; return many soldiers, officers and generals from the camps (first of all, one can mention, Rokossovsky, one of the best Soviet generals of the Great Patriotic War); pay more attention to building up and strengthening tank and artillery units; take seriously the establishment of logistics routes and communications for the troops.
