How have I never seen this bit??? 11 years ago? And I just found it in 2024. Kind of sad even 11 years later, we're still hoping for some sort of Sliders return, but like most things Sliders related - it's just not in the cards anymore. This was great though, and the actual joke of Quinn waiting too long to slide sometimes, just perfect. I know a few years ago Jerry O'Connell along with John Rhys Davies were talking to NBC about some sort of revival or continuation but obviously nothing has come of it still. One can hope though.
season 1 and 2 were masterpieces...really some of the best sci fi ever.
I love the original cast but there are really good episodes in the later seasons too. I didn't give them a chance when they first came out. But during the pandemic I watched all of them!!! Fun show great memories
I thought so at the time too. But I think back on them and, it's not so much. Like the episode where they make the nuclear bomb to blow up the asteroid that's going to end humanity? And it's not even a h-bomb, just a regular a-bomb. Yeah sure that's accurate. And that nonsense about the time delay between impact and the visible explosion because of the speed of light. Seeing the impact should have been delayed just as much so it should have immediately followed. All the details were just so ignorant.
It changed when they went to Universal studios and changed Canada for L.A....Vancouver was a way better setting for Sliders....

The show went to shit the moment The Professor died. Most people agree.
The cast abandoned ship on the last season because they knew it was going to be garbage. It's just John Rhys Davies was a little bit more on the ball. Well, he was in that god awful made for sci fi channel movie "Sabertooth" so maybe I shouldn't give him too much credit.
@JWalkers Conner There's one good thing about season 5. Which is, at least they didn't follow their promise at the end of the last episode of "to be continued"! Badum tss. Like that old joke about the restaurant review from Groucho Marx, "The food was terrible, but at least the portions were small."

but that was not the real Arturo though they switched on that one earth where that Arturo still had his wife and that version of quinn got famous for sliding it was a conspiracy though too but at the end the real Arturo was stuck there so the real one is still alive
it showed it in that episode in the second season where that version of Arturo tied up quinns original in the basement like watch the actual series
@EpicUndead I don't know, I never warmed to Maggie (especially after learning what the actress who played her was really like).
I guess the other new characters were okay but the awkward way they brought in Quinn's brother and then the others was a mess.
Also, the last of the new characters barely got any development or anything, admittedly they had little time to do that stuff but still.
@EpicUndead The only other thing I saw her in was "Eight Legged Freaks" she as so-so in it but far outshined by most of the rest of the cast.
Mainly, for me, it's the stories about how she got in the show (she was sleeping with one of the producers), how she treated Sabrina Lloyd (the story was Lloyd was dating one of production assistance or someone and she went out her way to work the guy extra hard and be a bitch to him every chance she got just to get at Lloyd). She was rude to everyone but the other actors except Lloyd who she went out of her way to dump all over, basically driving her off the show.
She was a major bitch and I gather, even though she was okay with the rest of the cast, they didn't care for her either.
Yeah, the stand-ins wouldn't have fooled Ray Charles.
It would be nice to see the old gang back together on lighter adventures without the Kromaggs and all that.
@EpicUndead I'm sure that was no accident. From what I recall they were pushing her out from the moment the new actress came in.
I recall, the point it all came down, they had a dispute, and Sabrina refused to leave her trailer. Finally, she said "it's her or me" expecting that her time on the show would add up to something so they fired her.
From what I heard she made poor Sabrin's life on set a living hell.
Depending on who you ask John Rhyss Davies had a hard time too. According to him, he was always complaining about the quality of scripts and story ideas and that was why they fired him.
Other people say he was rude to a guy as a company Christmas party and he got put in charge of the show and fired him out of spite. Take your pick.
Gotta admit I'd love to see a Sliders movie or even a trilogy.
It would be wonderful to see the ideas and the feel of the first two seasons updated and polished as a revival. I'd personally love to see the original four sliders back together. Quinn, Wade, Remy, and Arturo developed a great chemistry. Let's have maybe a ten-episode season that can follow and complete a storyline. If it's popular enough, great, make another. If not, I'll still buy it!
Hollywood has rebooted everything else from 20-30 years ago, why not Sliders?

The fun way to do the movie would be like this sort of. The actors of Siliders are duplicates of the characters in appearance get pulled into an adventure Galaxy Quest style. You can have a lot of fun with the concept and draw people in who aren't familiar with the show. You could have a coda at the end setting up a sequel with the actual characters taking place maybe too.
That'd be awesome if Quinn actually freaked out like that on the show. I bet he was screaming that as he was merged with his double on season five.

Amazon prime original should pickup Sliders tv series and continue it with all the old cast, there are ways to get t hem all back sliding into a high tech world can split Quinn back into their own bodies, Wayde was just an illusion in a tank created by the cromag's the real professor was left on the world where he was left behind and said oh my god, see and Remy still in the show in the end, they can all bring them back for a movie or continuation for a couple more seasons, until they find some young blood to carry it over when the original cast find their true home.

why would anyone want a movie? how many worlds can he possibly visit in 2 hours? I see this as a franchise like marvel superhero movies. This show hunts me because i'm living in one of the worlds Quin traveled to. The world that turned into corporate America.
I would assume IF there was a movie it would set things up for other movies. However, as I said in my other post, for me they would have to spend the movie undoing all the damage FOX and SyFy did to the concept before I would even be remotely interested in paying money to help it get made or even see it.
They have to get rid of Maggie and the other new characters. Bring back the classic four, undo that crap about Quinn having a brother and being from another Earth than the rest of the characters and that crap about his parents actually inventing sliding and all the dumb crap.
Damage control would probably take a two hour movie in itself, however there are a couple of easy outs. The Arturo who died isn't the real one he's the selfish jerk from the Azure Gate Bridge Earth, the real Arturo is there trying to building a controller from the tech left behind.
As for the rest perhaps the group we've been following since that Arturo's murder was another group and not the real group either.
I think after the success of the show stranger things about parallel dimensions, that a Sliders mini-series on Netflix or Hulu could work.
***** Of course a huge chunk of that would likely have to be spent fixing the mess FOX/SCI-FI made but if they could, somehow, make that part of the story (like someone with Sliding tech and some other tricks was messing with their slides and maybe replacing the real characters with versions from other Earths who were working for him, or even androids or something) then it would be telling a new story and fixing the mess at the same time.
The most vital thing would be to get the original team back (as much as they have the money and ability to do), get rid of newer characters no one liked (such as Maggie, I don't know anyone who liked her) and right the ship.
They also have to do away with the idea of Quinn having a brother, his father discovering Sliding and he being from a different Earth than he was raised on. That stuff was just really stupid and could easily be lies.
This would be a dream come true if this happens or a show reboot - please, honor the first two great seasons!

Or how about a world where all your favourite shows didn't get cancelled or fucked over by shithead suits? Yes, a world where _Firefly_ and _Caprica_ got second seasons and _Hannibal_ would currently be in production for its fourth season.
This was pretty awesome. I loved how they mentioned the original four Sliders, acknowledged that ugly cast change in Season 3 for what it was, and then just buried the other three latecomers that, really, no one gives a shit about. The ending was the best where he says he actually says *29.7* years. That was the original idea and lazy writers in about Season 3 on just rounded it down. So whoever wrote this sketch must have been a die hard fan.

Agreed, I thought Colin was a good fit, and made sense within the story.. Maggie Beckett taking the professor place just didn't sit well with me..Even though it was a good move for writers too give viewers tragedy, and lose, and pain.. Also I didn't think she was all that bad ass.. She was suppose too portray some sort of military trained women, but she act that way until way later in the show.. It was like she had too get used too being, and portraying her character.. Then there last 2 character's.. I guess there performances where ok, but the whole, we lost Quinn and Colin just cause someone else was conducting and experiment was pretty lame.. Lose the Main Character, and his co star brother just suxed.. It was like the only person that new how too fix the device was gone.. The Science died in the show, and it became a show abt 4 travels.. I didn't like it, but what can U do? Writers have too work what the have, and tell the best story they can for what they have..

Wish this was for real, but honestly it's been almost too long since the show ended and frankly the damage was done to it during Season 3 to the point of not being the same quality show it was during Season 1 and 2. It never really felt the same after Arturo was killed off. And Sci-Fi being the cheapskates they are made Season 4 and 5 look cheap as hell too. Hopefully Tracy Torme will attempt to revive it one day or reboot it at least. At least now it won't be tampered with by Fox and David Peckinpah.

I personally didn't like season 3 because it seemed like all the worlds were just movie rip offs even though we still had Arturo. However I agree that Season 1 and 2 were great.

It's 2022, and I'm still waiting for a proper ending for Sliders. One that erases Season 5, instead the team travels to the world where they left Prof. Arturo from Earth Prime, the prof. joins them again, they rescues Wade from Kromaggs' prison, together returns to Earth Prime, and defeats Kromaggs once and for all.
I'd toss some cash in to bring sliders back.

The Kromaggs were the beginnings of the decline in the show. It moved from social satire into a more straightforward sci-fi "monster" show.
“Invansion” was the worst episode ever, mind that I haven’t watched any more episodes after the one following “Invasion”.
As a one off the Kromaggs wasn't bad in season 2 as Ape like beings. Season 4 they became glorified Nazis and the show focus became them.
Three things. One, Can this please be real? Two, I'm happy to see that the portal finally followed the laws of sliding and didn't stay open while dramatic stuff happened. And three, I WANT THIS TO BE REAL!
This was funny...but I really do want a Sliders reboot (even if it's just a movie). Firefly got to make Serenity years later, so why not Sliders? It could take place after season 4, retcon out season 5 (because, really, who liked season 5?), and focus on finding Mallory and Colin's parents. It could be SO GOOD and finally end the series in a respectable way. Kari Wuhrer, Cleavant Derricks, Charlie O'Connell, and obviously Jerry O'Connell are all still around (as is Sabrina Lloyd...if we're ignoring season 5, then the movie could find her...).
I'm getting my hopes up for nothing, aren't I? :(

Yeah...the problem was a production one. They thought season 4 was the end, so they treated it as such and the actors moved on. Then Syfy said, "Hey, can you make another season?" at which point the crew of producers and writers was like, "Uh--yeah, we can take your money, just let us beg everyone to come back real quick." Sadly, Jerry could not make it back, and we all know how the writers horribly worked around that problem (Mallory combining with another body permanently? REALLY, writers?).
So, yeah...season 5 never happened :P
Give us new seasons with the original cast before they get too old!!! If they wait any longer they'll be sliding with wheelchairs and walkers!!! To all other SLIDERS fans I love you and be well!!

This would never happen in the real Sliders. Every Sliders fan knows that the worm hole would have to be slightly sentient to know EXACTLY when the right moment to close would be. LOL!
The writes of sliders made us fall in love with the original cast and then start getting rid of them one by one. lol Sliders could have been a huge franchise if they had kept the original cast for all 5 seasons.

As the author of a Sliders Movie Petition that currently has 2668 signatures, I'm slightly insulted that Jerry would make fun of this possibility. The movie would be so really, really awesome/ cool. I really, really want the series to come back though. I just don't think it would be the same with out the originals. However The movie would promote the show so much in becoming a serious again. Let's make it happen...

the actor craig charles was in sci fi series red dwarf, but it ended and he went to join soap opera coronation street - red dwarf then returned and he took a break from coronation street to rejoin that (then going back to endless soap coronation street after) - in one of the new red dwarf episodes he went to a parallel earth where red dwarf was just a tv show but coronation street was real not a soap opera (with him in it) and the 2 met.
I LOVE sliders....well...not the LAST season. Jerry and his brother were awesome. Wish they REALLY were making a movie. I'd see it for sure. :)
All four of them made it home once for like 2 minutes but Quinn didn't realize it was home because the gardener had just oiled the gate. Then when wade and Rembrandt went back there later on, they had Kromagg tracking chips in them and the Kromaggs took the planet over shortly after. If you're talking about Quinn and Collin's real homeworld, then there's no point, it was facing complete ecological destruction because the Voratron KR-17, the device that defeated the maggs destroyed the ecosphere.
