Little does everyone know this show has a lot of meaning behind the skits. Especially the first one, we're quick to think of zebras, elephants or even naked women before we think of actual practical things, such as natural resource efficiency.
It's not at all about that. The joke was that we don't know the answer to that otherwise we would have already done it. The random simple images are due to the well known pink elephant effect. "Don't think of a pink elephant" and you have to think of it to "not think of it". The pink elephant effect doesn't work with the answer to a problem. It's not deep at all, it's just kinda funny.
