Such a coincidence you posted this. Just a few days ago I had these same realisations of slowly coming to trust myself as I realised older people are also just people. I wrote a five page monologue in my diary about it and felt I had finally cleared something up for myself. 😅
I'm 29 btw.
I like this! What I realised a few years ago is that most older (than 20-something) people don’t know they’re older, in terms of their self-image. They still think they’re 20 somehow. This explains a lot too… especially about men perhaps, I don’t know.

I'm also in my 30s and I can totally relate. But I guess all these "I wish I knew" kinda things only start to make sense when you're already PAST the age when you were supposed to have known them. You ain't gonna learn and really 'know" something about life just because an older person said it to you from the height of their experience. "You can only connect the dots looking backwards".

Critical thinking skills are imperative to develop. I think your closing insight was esp good. Stretching our comfort level can really help break that fear and anxiety barrier as we learn. Truly a life journey as we fall and rise again

Fascinating video. I'm 64 and looking back I wished I'd learned these lessons in my 20s. An older friend once quoted Dorothy Parker to me when I was in a difficult work situation....'what other people think of me is none of my business'. This carried me through and became my mantra til I didn't need it anymore ! 😊 xx

Elin, there are plenty of lesson I wish I learnt in my youth, I wouldn't have wasted my talents to impress the unimpressable.

This is great, and I agree ❤ On my part, I wish my twenties hadn’t been so influenced by Sex and the City. Sure it was a well made series, but it was just too much to handle. We could not sufficiently tell the difference between fiction and reality. Me and all of my friends watched it religiously, and there was not much else to watch at the time.
I wish RUclips had been around in my 20s! 😂
