    I grew up eating like this too. My family is from sudan which is a country with both african and arab influences. Ive had a home cooked meal nearly 3 times a day my entire life. The variety of foods, flavors, cuisines ive eaten have been hella diverse. Thats why i love food and im always open to trying new things

      @@nusaibahibraheem8183 well, the person mentioned they are open to trying new things... so I too was curious whether a native country such as Egypt in Africa was halal considering he mentioned both Arab and African diversity.. and Lisa's dishes aren't exactly halaal, ofcourse we can substitute.. however whether the person wants to try pork or not was just a wonder, no hate ofcourse

      There is a sweet version, or at least a dessert with a similar tapioca shell and a different name. I've had banh troi which has a sweet grean bean filling.

    I didn’t grow up eating food like this but I married into it and can proudly say that my MIL was such a good Vietnamese cooking teacher, that even my FIL approves! I make 80% of what you posted and it makes me miss my MIL. She was my best friend for a very happy 10 years before she passed. Thank you for stoking the happy memories, Lisa. 🥲❤️❤️❤️

    In Vietnam, for Goi cuon, we usually roll the rice paper without deeping into water before because when we roll the rice paper with fish and rice noodles it do caused a little bit wet on your rice paper so that we could eat it in its entirety without too wet as we dip the sauce.

    Omg Vietnamese food is my fav food. I craved nothing but Vietnamese with my last two pregnancies. I gained 3 to 7 lbs because it’s no fat just nutrients and my kids were beyond healthy

    Those tapioca dumplings are literally my favorite Vietnamese food! I would go over to my friend’s house and her mom would make it every time she knew I would be over there because I loved them so much the first time I came over. She even started making vegan ones when I stopped eating meat in middle school

    It's easy to be a foodie if you have all that awesome food on your table. Good vlog! It's cool that your love for food is generational. How far back in history do some of the dishes go? The reason I ask is my friend from northern Thailand shared pics of a family reunion at her grandparents home. One pic has 4 generations preparing the meal at a huge wok. The wok has been there for generations. So impressive. Her food is amazing! She'll tell you that all the food recipes and methods are handed down from mom to daughter. Thanks for sharing!🍜🥟🦞😊

    Steps incase 😌: Generally speaking, moles are made of at least two types of Mexican chiles, some kind of sour ingredient (e.g. tomatillos), sweet (e.g. sugar, fruit, or chocolate), nuts and thickeners (e.g. peanut butter, bread, tortillas) and spices! Please consider making this if not it’s fine but I’d like to see it ☺️

    They all look delicious! My mom has a Vietnamese American family friend, and she taught my mom how to make some of those dishes, they tasted amazing, although my mom isn’t a pro at making Vietnamese food since she’s actually Chinese American, I still love eating her food

    You need to try Posole it is a southwestern stew dish made with hominy pork and New Mexico red Chile and then you can garnish it with cabbage white onions lime oregano and some people use cilantro, it’s delicious 😋! Some people like to eat it with tripe, but I don’t really care for it that way because the texture of tripe is like eating rubber bands…

    Being vietnamese its kinda cool to see a lot of vietnamese culture influence in the internet, for where I live there is little to non of it present and vietnamese culture and food pretty unknown
