- Maps are one of many visualization options inside the Zabbix. A way how to display your collected data, show the problems, and create your topology.
A map is more than a simple picture. It includes many small but very useful key features.

Ty very much for the video very very informative
Hi Dmity , great video btw , what I have seen is they guys will have a network layout done in visio , aswell as icons showing red dots and green dots , they basically use the visio drawing as a back ground map and tie the dots per element to the map (like you did with the pixel ) to the host IP's if the link is lost it changes color (changes icon of pixel) . I can see how one can get quite creative if you played around , thanks for the valuable information and sharing , I learnt alot from you. keep smiling :-)
Yeap, having full diagram created in 3rd party software and then use it as background. Use zabbix only for displaying problems on elements or/and links is also a thing :)
Hi Dmitry, great videos of yours. Does zabbix has any additonal built in feature of monitoring server hung state. Apart from zabbix agent availability, does zabbix monitor if a host is hung due to any reason which means it's in unresponsive state.
Hi sir Dmitry,
Good day
Hope this comment finds you well.
Just wanna ask how are you getting the various status of the hosts display status icons next to the hosts (green check marks, red X, etc.)
Hi, I've been trying to monitor KVM hardware utilization (cpu, ram and disk) by each vm. There are plenty of templates out there about kvm but they're only specific to if vm is running or no. Can you help me with this?
Thanks for reaching to the community in a proper & clear way. Much Appreciated :)
Request:
Could you please plan/make a detailed Tutorial for the 'Auto Discovery of Items/data' on the basis of custom based scripts? containing random or genuine data of processes, services, certs etc. in the files or live stats.
I believe that's the area which hasn't faced the daylight yet, looking forward to it.
Thanks again, Zabbix is the NMS 🖤
Requested same 7 months ago on Question Answer Session :)
Done :)
@@DmitryLambert Thank you very much man 🖤 Yeah I'm watching it :)
Hi Dimitri, great tricks. I have one question: how to create 4 obj links between two elements? (I have two servers and 4 LAN interfaces per server) The solution is 4x 1x1 pixel as a connecting element? Or otherwise?
please make a tutorial for Ovirt/RHEV monitoring with zabbix
Hi. I m stuck in link labelling. It does not show any indication of link speed etc. I m using 6.4 v and didn't find anything about label Syntex.
I actually have a question, how can I create a map and monitor the connection between to computers.
Any help appreciated thanks
Start with the basics ;) You have the Zabbix Server with hosts (agent, snmp, ipmi etc..) You get metrics. You have the trigers. Start building the map. Defining icons, names, links for each created element. It will take time to do it nicely.
Why in 2021 is not possible add a Zabbix map into Grafana Dashboard???
The text it very small so I can't read it.
You were able to show a map where each state and city would be an interactive element. Your map is very simple and inexpressive. More informative maps are possible. But it requires a lot of work. And Zabbix is an awkward tool for making maps. But if you use Zabbix as your main monitoring system, then it's worth it.
