    I LOVED THIS SHOW!!! I was saddened when it ended. The chants and the animals/creatures that came out of the chest and staffs were so awesome. Kudos on your Visionaries collection!

    I love the sheer amount of awesome 80s toys you have in your collection. Just amazing. Love it all. I am starting to get into the 80s toys again. I used to own the complete G1 collection from 84-87 most boxed and in very minty state. I have sold a lot of them but have kept my favorites. Don't have the room to display th all anymore due to Masterpiece.
    Sold a lot of my boxes loose as well. Made me quite some money to invest in masterpiece. But now I kinda regret it sometimes. And what better way to cheer myself up again and buy new 80s toys lol. Stay safe buddy.

    Oh man, the memories of opening these things christmas morning. I loved them as a kid. Had them all except for the 2 big vehicles. Always wanted that tan wolf dude. He was one of my favorites from the show. Always wondered why they cancelled it.

    • @tydiriumhanger1320
      @tydiriumhanger1320  4 года назад

      Cancelled the toys because the Holograms are so expensive which it drove the price of the toys up and hurt sales. Feryl is cool and strange that the big vehicle drivers are the same colors. Thanks

    I wish my dad had bought this toyline when we had the chance. But, travelling most of the time in the 80s would have given us difficulties of moving such numerous figures.

    11:30 Sky Claw - I had this about 30+ years ago - I did not know it was related to a cartoon series back then, I remember getting it as a gift from my uncle for Christmas. I think I eventually traded it with one of my friends for Transformers a couple of years later on... but I havent forgotten it, during the past 10 years I have been trying to find out what it it was, but did not remember the name... accidentally I ran into a "discontinued cartoon series from the 80s" video and imediately recognized. So glad to have stumbled upon this after so many years of looking - now I have to get myself one of these again!

      I loved this short run series. I also owned the Sky Claw. I forgot its name but I knew it was liked to Visionaries. I also had the Capture Chariot along with the figures for Mordred, Cindar, Witherquick and Feryl.

    Went swimming at the reservoir back in the eighties and cut through a path... some kid right behind me took the same path and found one of these guys in the path that someone had dropped... I walked right over it! Missed opportunity for a free toy! Bugged me for years! Other than that, wasn't blown away by these guys even back in the day...

    One of the most expensive DVD sets I have bought from the 80s/90s. It was a shame that it never went beyond season 1, however I watch it back and it really isn't an amazing show. For me It feels like nostalgia more than it being good, so I enjoy watching it everynow and again.

    What an AMAZING line! I remember this because the quality of animation in the cartoon was so good it really stood out. I too missed this when it came out. Another toy line and series that deserves a re-release. Those holograms still look good today. BTW the cartoon had an AWESOME theme song.

    I remember the show as a kid... but at that time Transformers..GI JOE and Voltron were so dominant...Thundercats too. Its like the hologram gimmick wasnt enough. And the vehicles were weird. It was just too many other dominant toy lines back then that lead to visionaries demise. I did like the show..never really wanted the toys.. However, I can see adults who DID like the toys back then being big time collectors of them.. plus they have a lil obscurity to them...thats a bonus

    I think the word you were looking for was lackey not laddie good sir. I just recently watched some of these episodes going back through alot of my childhood favorites to see what held up and what didn't. This one...eh, not so much. It definitely didn't hold up as well as say Transformers and M.A.S.K. did, but I guess alot of that is personal preference. I did have several of these guys as a kid, but I'm not gonna lie. I was a seriously spoiled ass kid.

    The holograms on the chests & staves were a gimmick, but they were also the entire point, from the look of the show. I had Cindarr as a kid...only one my mom could find in stores. Then again, I only liked him, Leoric, and the girls.

    • @tydiriumhanger1320

    Back in the day I had the Sky Claw with Mordred. I bought it out of curiosity. I was, and am, a GI Joe fan mostly. The hologram feature was cool, but I found the size of the figures and vehicles just a bit too bulky. A 3 3/4 inch size would have had my preference, also for the Visionairies to be able to interact with the Joes. The hologram on the Sky Claw stopped working at some point, since the vehicle was exposed to sunlight too much since it was displayed close to the window.

    Meh, not my thing. I was starting to grow out of toys when these came out, but I still had fondness for my old TFs, Joe's, MOTU, and Robotech. Those lines had really sparked something in my imagination and in my soul as a kid. But my little brothers eagerly welcomed these, and lots of other toys as they continued to be introduced after my beloved childhood toys. I thought my bros were just mindless consumerist drones, too easily moving on from one toyline to the next. Where was their loyalty? Where was their commitment to the toylines that had given us all so much fun till then?
    My brothers only got a couple of these figures, before the line was cancelled and something came out and took its place. It was no loss for me. But it also seemed not to matter much to my bros, either. It actually made me sad to see my bros changing into neophiles, simply wanting whatever was new, instead of picking something (or a few somethings) and just sticking with it.
    All these years later, I still swoon for TFs and Robotech, Joe and MOTU, and that's why I've gotten into collecting MP TF and perfect effect Macross mecha. But my bros get their fix sufficiently by just watching retro toy commercials. They have no real emotional connection to the numerous waves of other toys that came along in the late '80s. Easy come, easy go for them.

    • @tydiriumhanger1320
      @tydiriumhanger1320  4 года назад

      You sound like my older brother who says he does not care about 90% of the 80s toys. He likes Star Wars and Joe. Thanks

    • @texasbeast239
      @texasbeast239 4 года назад

      @@tydiriumhanger1320 - Haha. It's just that '80s toymakers were constantly releasing new toylines and cartoons, hopeful they would catch lightning in a bottle yet again, so it became bewildering keeping up with it. Eventually I got to that a point where it started sounding really similar to stuff that had already come out, and it didn't tickle my play bone anymore.
      I think there was a sort of addictive quality to it, and toymakers were deliberately stoking the addiction fires by releasing whole new lines so frequently. And I think it messed with a lot of kids, conditioning them to always want the latest and newest, instead of savoring what they already had.

    I loved these so much, it always irked me that they were just so slightly out of scale with my cobras, just a tad too big but they were workwithable if i posed them a bit back from my cobra dudes. I really wish they would put real holograms on the revised modern ones and release some of the cool ones such as the villains and for fuck sake the girls. I would buy them all without hesitation but not having holograms just kills my potentially vast interest. Thanks for showcasing these, i wish i had the whole set, I've only three and i love them. Holograms are so fuckin cool but nobody uses them at all anymore it seems. So glad I'm from the 80s and got to experience the weird awesome shit we had \,,/
