This songs honestly sounds like the grieving stage after losing a loved one. I saw the anime when I was a kid but as an adult now I think I have a deeper grasp of the feeling behind this song. I experienced loss and this song really depicts how crushing it initially feels. The lyrics makes me think it's grief but it could even be an expression of depression. The numbness of the snow she describes and wondering if it's better to let her heart go numb. As a kid it was emotional but as an adult with more life experience it's... Weirdly comforting. Some songs almost feel like they're made to rip angst from you but this one just feels really honest about how it feels. It feels really genuine. It's not trying to make you feel worse, just expressing how lonely it can feel. Remembering what I do from the anime, it's really fitting for the story and it gives people who are grieving or going through hardship someone to connect to.
Considering within the lore of the story, the song was written after the artist lost his wife and mother of his daughter at childbirth(?)/illness(?). I don't remember which. It was his last song. So this sounds about right.

Is this a coincidence? I've just found this anime and it was really good that I decided to binge watch it, two episodes left and I don't want to end it 😢 Listening to your cover made me really touched. It was like listening to the remastered version somehow.

As others have recommended, you definitely should check out the manga. It's really different from the anime, and I'm actually not sure which I prefer. Maybe the manga, sense I tend to prefer the "original" versions of stories since I guess they somehow seem more canon to me, but you may think differently. The anime is pretty great though since you can actually hear the music. :)
Best things in Full moon wo Sagashite: eternal snow, United states arc, Meroko's character development... None of those thing exist in the manga so... yeah the anime was better, and the manga didn't even have logic, shinigamis remembering their pasts without suffering any consequences, Wakaoji simply assuming that Mitsuki and Full moon are the same person without any explanation, the forced happy ending whith a character coming back to life whithout explanations...
What I prefer in the manga is the relationship with Eichi. The fact that she knows all along that Eichi's dead is so much more powerful, with the fact that at the beginning, she's not fighting death, but just waiting for it to be reunited with Eichi... It's way way more tragic, to think such a young girl has been pushed to such thoughts...
@@daedalron Ironically I like the anime more because of that change. Someone I love also died in a car accident and I had a pretty similar reaction to Mitsuki, so the shock and the sudden intense pain because of the plot twist felt very familiar
Well the manga was perfect tho. She got better due to her constant transformation to fullmoon and the reason they thought she was dying was because Eichi ghost was by her side all the time.

Who else is still listening to this anime soundtrack? I still can't with this anime/manga. This is my childhood, one of the first 'idol' anime that I followed for the songs and performance episode. Rereading this in adulthood breaks my heart into pieces. I'm still crying for eichi. They understood love so early but destiny separated them. The most heartbreaking twist is when MC admitted that she knew all this time that he was gone. Reading Eichi's deep feelings for her felt bittersweet. I cried like a baby when it was revealed that his spirit lingers on around her all this time, that he was there all this time. And seeing him struggle to remain then hopelessly smiling in the end as he finally accepted his death, has more impact in my shattered heart than the conclusion of takuto and MC's love story.

Full Moon was the first manga series I ever read, and it holds an incredibly special place in my heart. I read the manga long before I knew the anime existed, so hearing this song for the first time came as a wonderful surprise--the music I'd been reading about was real! I normally don’t listen to English covers of this particular song. But this time I clicked and- I couldn’t breathe the whole time and then I unexpectedly (but not really?) burst into tears at the chorus key change. Holy... wow.
When I first saw this I did a double take and then literally shrieked and would have listened to it immediately, but had to leave so I'm only just now listening to it. This anime is the main reason why I got into singing and now it's one of the few things that for sure makes me happy. Thank you so much for this!!

Havent seen the anime but the song sounds beautiful (it did remind me of Citrus chapter 36, so now i feel a bit sad again :p ) anyway when it comes to conventions, if i for example ask a con in Belgium to invite you and they do ask for you, will you go there then? First time i went to a con called Atsusacon there was this youtube girl from a different country, she also did Anime covers and people could ask her to sing a song as well. I just want to say love the song, love the visuals but I physically cannot watch the video. The camera is so shaky that it's actually making me sick watching this. I usually love watching your music videos and I even like the new direction of live action but please use a tripod or something next time.
It's definitely shaky on purpose. The only way you would get video that is that shaky is if someone was filming on an unstable surface (like a boat) or if they were doing it in purpose. I just personally disagree with this artistic choice as it makes the video hard to watch for those like me who get easily motion sick.
Ahh I'm sorry this is one is too shaky for you! I'm looking into getting a camera stabilizer for the new one, just to try to cut down on the shakiness as much as possible! Still new to filmed videos and learning as I go!
Oh okay well I'm glad it's more of an equipment/technical error rather than a stylistic choice. I'm actually a film major so if you need any advice let me know. The biggest piece of advice that I can quickly offer though is to decide on a shot and stick with it. For example at 1:43 the camera starts on the left hand side of the screen then quickly go to the right and then it settles on the middle. When editing you should cut the parts out of when the camera is deciding it's position. Idk if you're using multiple cameras to record but if you are, have your cameramen communicate with each other when they are moving positions and what shots they are going to capture so that the other camera can stay steady in their position and that shot can be used while the other camera is adjusting.

This song means something to me I don't quite know how to express, other than it's been with me for a very long time through some very difficult things. Full Moon was the first manga series I ever read, and it holds an incredibly special place in my heart. I read the manga long before I knew the anime existed, so hearing this song for the first time came as a wonderful surprise--the music I'd been reading about was real!
Hearing your cover brought me that moment of magic all over again. Thank you for taking such good care of this song.

QueenLiyah I know this is extremely late, but if you haven't watched it yet, it's about a young girl who is in love with a boy who moved to America. She wants to become a famous singer and get her voice to reach the boy, but she has a throat cancer that hinders her singing.
Shinigami appear to her and accidentally let her know she only has a year of life left, and they decide to help her quickly build a career as a singer and become internationally known before she runs out of time.
this was the first anime i watch without my brothers and sister, it's also the first anime to make me cry, and the first anime i found myself (myself is also the name of the first song mistuki wrote). THE FEEEEEEELS

When I first saw this I did a double take and then literally shrieked and would have listened to it immediately, but had to leave so I'm only just now listening to it.

It's been over a decade since I read the manga and watched the anime. Took that long for me to come full circle and truly understand the feelings behind the lyrics in this song. I'll have to rewatch this anime now after having grown up since then.

Havent seen the anime but the song sounds beautiful (it did remind me of Citrus chapter 36, so now i feel a bit sad again :p ) anyway when it comes to conventions, if i for example ask a con in Belgium to invite you and they do ask for you, will you go there then? First time i went to a con called Atsusacon there was this youtube girl from a different country, she also did Anime covers and people could ask her to sing a song as well. It would be awesome to meet you in the first place but, hearing you live would be even more awesome!

I just want to say love the song, love the visuals but I physically cannot watch the video. The camera is so shaky that it's actually making me sick watching this. I usually love watching your music videos and I even like the new direction of live action but please use a tripod or something next time.

I think it's shaky on purpose
It's definitely shaky on purpose. The only way you would get video that is that shaky is if someone was filming on an unstable surface (like a boat) or if they were doing it in purpose. I just personally disagree with this artistic choice as it makes the video hard to watch for those like me who get easily motion sick.
Ahh I'm sorry this is one is too shaky for you! I'm looking into getting a camera stabilizer for the new one, just to try to cut down on the shakiness as much as possible! Still new to filmed videos and learning as I go!
Oh okay well I'm glad it's more of an equipment/technical error rather than a stylistic choice. I'm actually a film major so if you need any advice let me know. The biggest piece of advice that I can quickly offer though is to decide on a shot and stick with it. For example at 1:43 the camera starts on the left hand side of the screen then quickly go to the right and then it settles on the middle. When editing you should cut the parts out of when the camera is deciding it's position. Idk if you're using multiple cameras to record but if you are, have your cameramen communicate with each other when they are moving positions and what shots they are going to capture so that the other camera can stay steady in their position and that shot can be used while the other camera is adjusting.
This was the show that got me into anime AND YOU DID THIS SONG SO MUCH JUSTICE. I LOVE THIS
