  • "Hubble: Galaxies Across Space and Time" is an award-winning IMAX Super Short. Explore 9 billion years of cosmic history in less than three minutes as you fly through one of Hubble's iconic images. These galaxies were photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope as part of the Great Observatory Origins Deep Survey (GOODS) project. Hubble scientists and imaging specialists worked for months to extract individual galaxy images, placing them in a 3D model according to their approximate true distances.

    We chose Barbara Feldon to narrate the short film because we felt she sounded like Mother Nature. It was wonderful to work with her.

    Come. Take a brief journey at a billion times the speed of light. It's relaxing.

    Much more than a few thousand times. The video had us travel all the way to the earliest galaxies in less than 2 minutes. Light took more than 13 billion years to reach us from the most distant galaxies, so we were actually travelling many billion times the speed of light.

    If we could travel instantly to a huge distance outside our galxy and see things from there we may get the chance of seeing how our own galaxy was formed...the light of that moment is still traveling...well, just imagination, but still at some moments is more important that knowledge...“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” - Albert Einstein

      if one could instantly teleport, yeah. that's creating a discontinuity, or 2-D topological defect. in a way, you'd be either, adding potential energy to yourself that shouldn't be there, or fucking with a time discontinuity. Heck, i'd love to see the surface of R136a1, or watch 2 Neutron stars merge. but that's about all

    Why light particles itself never diminish ? What made light able to travel billions of years at such crazy speed without diminishing ??

    As the universe expanse , the galaxyes are more further away from each other , but star in the galaxyes are in the same distance .... I think that the human mankind would never develope inter-galactic traveling , but interstelar would bee posible im near future . Robots are the future , they will give us the answers about a lot of things .

    Aren't galaxies supposed to be closer together the farther back in time we go? If the universe is being stretched apart, why do the younger galaxies look so far apart??

    • @dreamingsharmat1745
      @dreamingsharmat1745 7 лет назад

      Yair Hurtado This is at current time, now. They were once closer together when it all started, but now we're spreading out.

    • @805guy
      @805guy 7 лет назад +1

      But if we're capturing the light from millions or billions of years ago, it's not current time. I would think the images of billions of years ago would show the galaxies very close together??,,,,

    Astonishing video, but the animation is filled up with mistakes. Red-colored galaxies are supposed to came in the direction of the viewer much later than yellow and blue ones b/c of the redshift and the distance related to the color that we see after the wavelength being stretched by the expansion of the universe.
    Anyways, it's a very nice vid!

      How can you not believe in what God created for you? Flat earth is a joke. Seriously what shows more power, a flat earth, or a universe filled with an infinite amount of stars?

      @johnjriggsarchery2457 7 лет назад

      I hope that you are vocal on the flat Earth videos that have been doing their best to prove that there has to be a disconnect between faith and science. Regardless of what I think, what you just said is pretty powerful stuff and deserves to be heard in the dark regions of the "flatlands".
