LOVE the ride!! hate the colour options. I dont mind the White but not full time, I wish they had a mat black finish at least instead of making us pay for after market parts or getting it painted. thanks for the review.

Bought a white 101and took it back and traded it for a sport chief, a week later. The 101 felt too small and I didnt like the way the 101 idled..the sport chief has loads of low end torque.. something the 101 doesn't have. I put lloyds 585 cams airlcleaner pipe and a tune on the Chief which really woke it up. Pretty bike the 101.. but I had serious buyers remorse.. love the Sport Chief.
Great video. I have a Pan America, noting your comment about them being a boat or floaty when you stop. I ride mostly in Sports suspension mode, so it is firm and doesn't bounce. It is high, but I don't think it is top heavy. Then I use it as a commuter and sports tourer, rather than a dirt road bike. I am in Australia, and the long travel suspension suits our rough roads. I have 1988 Low Rider with a sidecar and upgraded firm suspension, it practically bottoms out on some our rough country roads, lots of lifting your self up a bit to manage the bumps. I like the 101 Scout, I would prefer it with mid pegs, I think, I'm not a fan of forward controls, but I like highway pegs to relax with on a long trip.
I'd like your thoughts on the new Chief Bobbers from Indian. I'm split between the Chief bobber and a Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. Worlds apart, but I have reasons for the two. My last bike was a 2016 Victory High Ball. Unfortunately, a wreck in April 2018 put me off riding since. Now that my shifting foot is healed up completely, and I'm in a better location for riding, my aim is to get one of the aforementioned bikes, or build something completely custom for the first time.
Nice job as usual D. So this is the performance version with duel disc and so on. It looks great but what about corners? If you could only have one, this Scout or FTR ?
Yeah, it looks better. I agree but since I work in the motorcycle industry, a problem I have seen with the mirrors being down like that are a dangerous concern for me. The problem is that when the riders low-sided the bikes, the mirrors actually penetrated the gas tank. In one incident the rider actually slid down the road behind the bike in the streaming gasoline. He was incredibly lucky the gas did not ignite as his clothes were wet with fuel. One other thing that is a big concern is the fact that some of us taller riders have to raise our arms to look under them to see the mirrors. That means lowering your head to look down under your elbow and that means taking your eyes completely off the road. I'd rather just be able to glance at the mirrors in the upright position without moving my head, and not have to turn and lower my head to look behind me. In heavy traffic where I sometimes ride, that is too much time not looking ahead. Once again, I agree they look better down, but the cosmetics are not worth the possibility of puncturing my gas tank and having to take more time to look behind me.
Hello from France ( as always!...) (it's been a while, ..because I was suffering ) But, When I see your report, I 'm glad to be back ...!! lol Congrats for the quality or this review ! So, anyway, comes thoughts : - So nice ( aesthecally) - even me could ride it ( with the mid pegs ) ( I'm 5"6..😁) -The radiator of the liquid cooled system is most aesthetic and integrated than Harley ... - BUT this exhaust is so loooonnnnggg, and so UGLY !!! (I prefer the Vance&Hince you get on Sparrow...) - I'm really keen on two bikes : ( HD Sport Glide 2020 / V max 1200 1ST gen) This would be the third !! Thanks for sharing, (And A little thought for Simon and Pickle !...) V, Ride safe, ✌🤟
interesting looking bike ....... but its to dealer dependent for most . Royal Enfield and Triumph etc have it right for the home mechanic owner enthusiast .

Enjoyed your video!
Great thorough review, very helpful for a buyer.
Mid controls would make this bike PERFECT!
Many people do, that’s why Indian makes them forward controls as standard.
It near guarantees an aftermarket sale to relocate controls
🤷🏿♂️

I could absolutely live with this bike. But I would want to change that massive end can for something slicker.

I love the engine on this bike. Sure, it isn't as powerful as the Sportster S but it rides much better. AND it rides even better with mid controls.
Love these rides through the countryside & small towns. I thought for a moment the cops had pulled you over! (gratuitously, thankfully not)
Really enjoyed that Dee. But every time I see one I cant help thinking that someone got an angle grander to the back fender .
I always run my bar end mirrors upside down, doesn't spoil the lines of the bike so much IMO
