This was the 70’s when satin clothing and guys with long hair was the norm. I was 16 when this performance was recorded. Great video and thanks for the reaction.
This beautiful song was written by guitarist Brian May, inspired by a girl he had a crush on at university but was too shy too approach- the imagery in the lyrics inspired by a book he was reading at the time “The White Goddess: A Historical Grammar of Poetic Myth” by Robert Graves. The band members all had long hair and satin or silk stage costumes at this point in their career - and looked wonderful that way. (It helps that all four of them were very good-looking guys as well as being excellent musicians, I must say) Not-Fun Fact : Poor Freddie and Brian both had the flu during this video. Yes, the flu - and still put in an amazing performance LIVE. No AutoTune (which didn’t exist) , no backing tracks , no backup dancers or fancy effects. Just 4 fantastic musicians doing what they do best, flu be damned !
If you would like to see them rock out, y should watch now I'm here Wembley 1986. Great reactions. I've been a fan since 1974, yes I'm that old.....xxx
Some of my favorite guitarwork here. Brian goes off to the sky and Freddie's piano duets so beautifully with it. I wish the cameraman has focused on them both so we can really 'see' them interacting. Well, at least we can hear it.
It’s not an “angel” costume....it’s Freddie’s reference to the Roman God, Mercury...also known as the Winged Messenger...he has wing tips on his sleeves as well as the bottom of his pants🤩
Mystically haunting & beautiful 🌙🌟⭐️💫 The uniting of Freddie’s piano with Brian’s guitar, the Red Special, his very special lady is magnificent! It definitely gives me a Tolkien vibe (J.R. Tolkien is best known for writing The Lord Of The Rings trilogy)🧝🏻♀️ The studio version is a must listen, too! Thanks guys! 🌿🌸 During this Queen time period .. Freddie would wear black nail polish on his left hand & Brian wore white nail polish! 💅🏻🖤🔲
Freddie wore the same costume in the BoRhap video, it was his Mercury outfit with the little wings at the wrists and ankles. Mercury was the messenger of the gods in the Roman mythologie. Pls, check out In The Lap Of The Gods (not the revisited version) at the Rainbow 74, Roger gives you a little surprise. 🤫
Big fan of Queen's Prog era. Very adventurous and innovative period for them. Great material and ambitious performances. A band hungry to conquer the world 🌎.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful song written by Brian May. Teo Torriatte is another Brian song. It was written in appreciation for the Japanese fans, and part of it is sung in Japanese. The 1979 video live in Japan is good. Las Palabras de Amor is Brian's tribute to the South American tour audiences and Freddie is excellent, of course. I think only the official video is available.
This is my opinion is some of Freddie's best piano work

Such a beautiful song and they're talking about his sweating!!
Fun fact, back then Freddie dressed the band! Fashion major that he was!
More Queen ….woo hoo!!🎼❤️🎼❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧
Have a go at I'm in love with my car..by mr Roger Taylor on drums...
You guys should check out in the lap of the gods live at the rainbow in ‘74! Or the entire medley it’s a part of!
By the way Freddie’s not sweating..it’s the reflection of his jewellery...he would only sweat if he was running around..this is a calm performance 🤩

Well said!
Queen II is the best Queen Album in my opinion.
It's not "muscle memory"; it's subconscious memory you use when you are playing an instrument.
