There is a round cutout in the stainless vent to access and drill out the rivet.

It does, there is no other priority for cold air than when you are trying to get a good nights sleep, especially after a evening of indulging in your favorite spirits.

Without getting too deep into it, no - this product is not in anyway comparable to the $15.00 steel vents from China.
airkrafters does not manufacture anything they design, distribute, or sell in/from China.
This particular product assembly is actually manufactured in ISO certified factories located in the United States, EU, and Japan to provided design specifications and is formed out of 5052 aluminum.
The quality, fitment, and finish is above and beyond the OEM (airstream) requirements adhered to for other parts the coach leaves the assembly line/factory with.
But options are always a good thing, and surly some folks will be content with any performance improvements they can obtain at minimal cost - but erPOD is a higher end assembly/product solution than what is shown in this post.
Perhaps Vinnie would be compelled to send a product sample to the content creator so he can provide an accurate comparison.

I agree with your assessment. I declare that I do not have the Airkrafter product to compare, so it is not a fair assessment to compare them. I later in the video even make a statement that the Airkrafter product is better, on a screen overlay. I do however strongly think that better is sometimes a subjective term. If you mean better, in the sense of construction, I would have really liked to had the Airkrafter product. But better for affordability, well this option has it beat hands down. Lets really keep it real here, who really wants to spend $280 for two vents to improve airflow. Some folks probably are cold natured, and do not want any more air. My wife and I, are the type that like our bedroom cold enough to hand meat. We appreciate the extra airflow. If anyone wants to send me two vents, $280 worth for me to compare, I would love to do a proper video, comparing the construction differences of both, and the installation process differences. I am glad you defended them for their USA made product, as I am all about it.

You do make a valid point - however, if being thrifty is the end all goal then I’d think most people in that cohort would probably be camping in a Jayco or SOB.
I know Vinnie and the crew in Sacramento, and I also know that they are spending a small fortune producing these to what they believe are appropriate levels of quality given the application.
If better performance at bottom dollar is the goal, perhaps $15 is a waste as well if you can just remove the vents all together and be done with it.
At any rate, good job finding these and sharing!

Options is always a good thing. Your assessment of me being thrifty, is not a valid point. There are appropriate purchases for return of performance. $280 to get some more air is not a good return on investment. I build $60,00 Side by sides, $80,000 FJ Cruisers, etc, Check out our other videos, being thrifty is something I am rarely accused of. But if I have the choice of a $15 product that functions the same, and I would argue , that it does function the same. A hole in the ceiling is not an option, the $15 part does a find job of diverting the air exactly where I want it. I get that they spend a bunch of money to develop and make the product, and they obviously have sold a few, since they are sold out. Just dont think anyone is going to come into my airstream, and say wow you went cheap on the air vents covers. No one, nore myself will be bothered by my stainless steel air vents. Thank You for the comments, you do make some good points, and once again appreciate you defending the american made product. Some people budgets will support the outlay. Not sure where my Reply went to your comments. I appreciate your comments, and all are valid. I am all about Made in the USA. I hate that my chosen option was MADE In China. And maybe I will just replace them some day with the AirKrafters version. Or like you said maybe AirKrafters will send me some, so I can do a follow up video, showing the difference. I know Vinnie is offering some great products and services.

This video should have been just about the poor vent design from Airstream and what options are available to improve cooling. Without having the AirKrafters product in hand you shouldn’t be mentioning your opinion. AirKrafters has a far superior product and installation methods from the gyrations you had to go through to get the cheap Chinese knockoff installed. I recently purchased this product (10 total) you show in this video and once in hand I promptly ordered two of the erPods. Needless to say I’ll be returning the Chinese knockoffs. The stainless steel units were already scratching from the rough edges left from manufacturing and not smooth moving like AirKrafters version. Why would one skimp in quality for a couple of vents after spending $$$$ on a truck and trailer?

Each to their own. I feel like I never compromise on quality. I declare that I do not have the AirKrafters product to compare quality. Also these are not knockoffs, they are generic air vent covers, most likely used int he boating community. So you had intended on putting 10 of the Stainless steel air diffusers, but settled on two of the expensive ones. Your call, you rig. I really do not plan on moving them but once. Once I set them where they will benefit me while sleeping, they are set. Your money, spend it how you like. But I still stand behind this as being a good functional, and suitable quality option, not substitution. I think others have expressed they have been happy with this option as well. I understand not everyone will have the skill to do the handcrafting, or modifications to the pieces/ parts to make this work. The AirKrafters is surely a more purpose designed product with minimal skill needed.
