Reiner is my favorite character in the show legitimately.

Just to clarify a frequent misunderstanding: recall that this group left the innermost Wall Sina #3 and traveled to Wall Rose #2 knowing that the outermost Wall Maria #1 is titan-controlled. These scouts scanned Wall Rose for holes, found none, and decided to camp in the nearby castle in would-be "human" territory. The Beast Titan was beside the castle marching toward the wall and climbed it, so he climbed *Wall Rose*. Then, from the opposite camera perspective, we see him descend the side opposite the castle, into the region enclosed by *Wall Maria*, i.e. he returned to titan territory. He is not further invading human territory, but rather (tactically?) retreating.
Ymir seems like the selfish one while Christa is the selfless one, but it's actually the opposite: Ymir is the selfless one but she pretends to be selfish and Christa is selfish but pretends to be selfless. Each wants to be like the other. It's why they bond so well too cuz they understand each other and relate to the struggle
I love this dynamic, it's unique and feels fresh and adds a lot of likeability to Ymir's character once you realize it without taking anything away from Christa's likeability

This episode was the truning point for me. This is when I realized how different this show was about to be.
You have to understand, almost everything Ymir says or does have another meaning or purpose. Heavily. She comes off as rude to protect herself while secretly caring deeply for others.
Reiner is also my favorite character in the show. This is where he really starts getting more screen time. :)

Ymir is not crazy. If everyone sus is crazy, when the world is full of crazy people. It's just that you don't know her. Like you said, she just like tease people by being a little bit rude. But it's not that rude. It's just jokes like a real frienship. They like make fun of each others, when situation is dark, to destressed. She did things that you can't understand because she is not as ignorant as you, that's all. Ymir just know things that you don't know, that's why she acts strange sometimes. it's not because you act strange, that you are crazy... She even is the less crazy people of the group, by being pragmatic.

@@CruxOfTheMatter Ignorant in the story point of view. I'm not accusing her of anything. But she has to know that she is factually ignorant at this point of the story. It's an obvious thing to know. I'm may be not good enough in English, to write quotes without making mistakes about the way to male me undestandable. But i wanted to say ignorant because she know nothing about the story of SNK. How should have said this ?
@@vincentvieille5996 No problem, i was just curious. To be honest English isn't my first language, but calling someone ignorant sounds a bit rough to me. Anyway, i got your point. Yet, i think it's part of being a reaction youtuber making early conclusions and disliking or liking characters in a show. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
To answer your question, you could have said " She did things, you don't understand, because you don't know the real Ymir" or something like that. But don't worry too much about your choice of words, you explained how you meant it, it should be fine.
Edit: ignorant isn't a good word here, because it means, that she purposefully ignores facts about Ymir so she can misunderstand/dislike her. I don't believe that's the case here.
@@CruxOfTheMatter I see. Ignorant is knowledge that you chose to don't know... In my birth language, it's a little bit different. And it depends essentially on the way you talk and your tone. But in writing there is no tone ... So, i guess it's difficult ta make any differences. Anyway, we are talking in English.

To be fair, the reason he lifted the bar and investigated the next room is because the further DOWN they can *start* establishing barricades, the more opportunities they will have to retreat back UP to fallback barricades at higher levels, so it's in their best interest to get as far down as possible. What was stupid was opening the door wide like that without thinking rather than just quickly taking a peak with the torch first to account for exactly that scenario.
