I love this tool, have 2 sets at two different locations. I've always understood not to keep turning past the first click. I've seen the fastener keep moving for each additional click, which seems like you're over torquing
Just some feedback, i enjoy how the new version has knurling on the adjuster, but it should have a bit of a softer/rounded edge on the corner, feels its a bit too sharp
I like using this with longer Wera hex bits
I have this tool and it is possible to turn the bolt past the torque spec and overtorque as a result. So pay close attention to the bolt youre tightening. Especially noticable on stems.
if im talking to someone not paying the most attention i sometimes wont notice or feel the click
Can you get an accurate torque if you go 'halfway' between the Nm detents? (Always appreciate the Park Tool Videos, thank you)
No you cannot.
Nice tool ❤😊
I have this tool and love it, but I noticed the new version has a new black bit storage cap, mine has the older blue bit storage cap and it always falls out when using it, I find it kind of annoying.
You can get the black cap as a replacement part here: www.parktool.com/en-us/category/parts?query=ATD-1.2
how do you calibrate it and how often do you have to do it?
Here is some info on calibration: www.parktool.com/en-us/our-services/torque-device-repair-calibration
I've always been under the impression that you need to store these adjustable torque wrenches in the lowest setting possible to keep them accurate longer. Is this not a thing, or is it only true for specific torque wrenches?
Torque wrenches with a wide range of setting compress the spring to a much greater range. The ATD-1.2 has a spring but because of the limited 4Nm to 6Nm range, the spring is not compressed enough to need this relaxing.
@@parktool Understood, thanks for the prompt reply!
How do you know which number from the driver to use on your components?
